I think the only type of knife that is illegal across the US is automatic/switchblade type knives (see Federal Switchblade Act). Butterfly & gravity knives, which are actually very different tools, vary per state law, same with brass knuckles. Automatic knives were actually banned shortly after West Side Story was released, beaurocrats (idiots) believed the movie was a real depiction of gang life and banned switchblades.

I did some research on auto knives in the past, if you are an EMT/Paramedic, Police Office, Firefighter, or in the armed forces, you can own an automatic knife; most companies, such as Benchmade, require that you provide some kind of paperwork proving your profession.

I know for a fact that gravity knives are legal where I live, I'm not sure about butterfly knives, though. Some of the nicest gravity knives, which are pretty hard to find are the German WWII Airborne gravity knives. You can still find them (sometimes) at gun or militaria shows.

The butterfly knife falls into the "gravity" knife category (whether accurate or not) in most states. The main problem being, if you read my post a little more carefully, is that due to ports of entry, they are illegal to import by simple overseas purchase. Perhaps if you were a company going to a state where it was legal, it would be different, but the Port Authority would need to be notified.

I personally own a family heirloom soviet gravity knife that we brought over when we emigrated while it was legal, amazing things.

Also, I'd like to note that their temperature treated Ultrafire knock-off brand knives on DX, the one that I bought, are very good quality, just read the american reviews on the knives they have. It is a knock-off, but you'd never guess... I've been using it as a camping knife this summer and its worth the $10 or so bucks I paid for it by MILES... I think it might be the same factory even, as the parts between the Ultrafire knockoff are interchangeable with the originals from what I can tell of the assembly. There are bigger knife collectors buying from them now than me, just read their reviews.
 
Most people that are useing att/cingular are useing 850mhz so these phones are useless.

ahhh what do you think? i heard you can transfer the phone over by putting both of them in the microwave for 30 seconds.

is this the best iphone knock off or is there a better one that ive seen in past? id be all over it if it had better res for movies and i knew it would take a 8gb sd card
 
that one looks better, runs win ce, but it isnt going to be available until next year...and the base model with like 4gig and no camera is going to be $199.

for $150 I think I am going to grab one...and give it to my son when the meizu m8 comes available

Also...I have been buying stuff from dealextreme for over a year now...its great cheap chinese stuff...the shipping is a bit slow but for $1 US you cant complain. the bigest thing I have bought from them so far is a 200mw green laser. It was like $120 and arrived in 16 days. I have never been shafted for anything I bought from them.

It is tri-band instead of quad-band (missing the 850 freq if I remember correctly) It prob depends on where you live and what band you'll be on most often.

the way gsm works is each region around the world has specific bands they use.. ex. Asia mainly uses 900... USA uses 1900 and 850. since this phone does not have 850 it will automatically use the 1900 band. 850 band is preferred in cingular/att due to the fact it has better wall penetration, that's all. t-mobile only uses 1900.

so, all in all, this phone will work with ANY GSM carriers in the USA :)

Ignoring the fact that the FDC has nothing to do with communications, you're totally wrong.

You misinterpreted a news article about rules that will apply to upcoming wireless spectrums.
 
The FDC or FD&C was an act of law passed by Congress in the 30's forming the Food and Drug Administration. It has nothing to do with phones.

This is not true BTW, when the RAZR first came out there were several people who got Alltel RAZR's on Verizons network and retained the MotoUi.

I do think its rare, but its not absolutely impossible.

that may have happened but it wouldnt now.
i sell verizon phones and if your phones ESN isn't in the verizon database it gets flagged and it wont let you put it on the network. If you know someone that works for sales support they may be able to bypass that, but its not possible through the retail system.

and for the people that want an iphone on verizon or any other cdma carrier, it wont happen anytime soon. Apple and att have a 5 year exclusivity agreement.

I ordered this phone for $195 shipped a while back BRAND NEW from California (lots are direct from China). The p168...

What an awesome fucking phone... I cannot begin to describe how much of a retard you are if you buy an iphone... this does everything it does besides wifi (whoop dee do) and the automatic screen tilt feature (whoop dee do, I have to hit a one easy button to turn the video)... minus those 2 things and you save... well, a crapload of money! :)

I am a poor college student basically, so a couple techy people asked me, "Hey... whoa, how the hell did you get a ripoff $500 iphone?" just because it has touchscreen they assume its an iphone because thats spread mass on the TV as the "first and only touch screen phone".

When asking them "how much do you think I spent?" I always get the $300 range remark. Hahaha, not even $200 SHIPPED SUCKA!... WITH 2 batteries, chargers, and all cables....and you plug in the sim card and you're ready to go.... and they are all :eek:

This thing does not have Wifi... but from what I've been told you can use T-Mobile (I am using AT&T now, working good... no net on my service though) and that T-Mobile has a $5.99 internet plan which works for every website on this phone. Since I do not use that many minutes because I hate talking on the phone, I'm going to get the 300 minute=$29.99 service+ $5.99 internet for a total of $40+bs+tax+fees=$55ish probably (internet+phone+400 txt) instead of $55 for POS AT&T with nothing but phone. :D

NOW TO THE.......
CONS!

1) MAX STICK (uses MicroSD cards.... small as hell) is 2GB (some say if you get this right brand you can use a 4GB, but most of the 4GB cards will only show up as 2GB on the phone) .. still though 2GB is a shitload of space IMO!

2) Video quality not SUPER SHARP as much as the iphone is, but its totally useable and probably 10% crappier... if that! This is not a BIG con because it still has really decent quality IMO.

3) There is no QUAD-BAND (liars on ebay) ... guy totally boasted QUAD-BAND but its supposedly only Tri-band w/ quad band words in the settings (lol). So very rarely here in the Miami area, I will slip into "Emergency Mode" on the phone to where it won't make any calls for a half a minute or so. Like I said, I don't talk on the phone a lot.. I don't give a shit.

4) Supposedly* GETTING picture messages does not work on this phone, sending them though is working. Personally, I send regular text msgs 99% of the time, and that works 100% fine for me on this phone. I think you can have the sender send to your email and you can access pics there!

5) if you have REALLY fat hands, you better buy another stylus or two because you are going to be using it a lot. I am a skinny guy so my fingers hit the VERY SMALL txt qwerty keys just BARELY to where I can use it without the stylus.

6) Delicate and there isn't a whole lot of good protective cases for this phone (THE IPHONE IS A TAD SMALLER, I HAVE LOOKED AT TONS, BELIEVE ME). I am currently using the BELKIN IPHONE SNUG and it needs to get stretched a lot before it slides in and out smoothly.

I'd HIGHLY recommend getting this phone if you're on ATT or T-Mobile (works for both). If you just read this and still bought an iphone.. I hope you have a lot of money to flush!

I use a 100% free legit program to add YOUTUBE-->PHONE as well as personal VIDEO--> PHONE converter onto this P168 phone.

Its funny you say "POS AT&T" but when you compare them to T-Mobile you'll see they have way better coverage than T-Mobile. So go save a few bucks to have crappy service, good choice.

Depends how you define better coverage, on a national basis or for your needs. Personally, I have lost faith in "coverage" promises as my phone works like shit where I work and it's supposed to be a networked area whereas smaller companies phones are working great here.

If it covers everywhere you go or intend on going and it cost less, that says to me a lot more than a paper saying you have complete coverage but drop out in some areas that you frequent.

You may be biased because yours works fine where you are.

Where I live Verizon is hands down the best (Tried Cingular/ATT 2x, Sprint, T-mobile), I have a love hate relationship with them because of it, although their phones are getting better. I just wish they would stop crippling them.

I've had this phone for 5 months now. My old phone was a samsung E900.

This phone works suprisingly well for the $154 I paid for it from DX. reception is pretty good. I traveled from washington state to arizona and it got the same reception as my wifes razr. dead in the same spots, etc.

the camera does blow however. very grainy. it says it it 2mp but to me it looks like a sub 1mp. The mp3 player works great. the built in speakers are LOUD...very loud.

The biggest downside to this phone is the crappy manual. You have to learn how to use most of the really neat features by figuring them out.

Someone commented about the miezu M8 phone. Last press release I read (probally around november) stated they were releasign it in th emarch timeframe. I will try to find out some more current info and post a link here.

It is an utter peice of crap compared to the iPhone. Things are NOT easy to do with this phone - simple txt messaging becomes a hassle.

I never could get my phone to work with cingular... new at&t whatever....

That's nonsequitur. Asia is typically far ahead of the US in terms of cell phones. Why do you think when the razr came out they were selling ones out of HK before they were available in the US? They have all kinds of phones there that you'd never see here in the US. We get the scraps for the most part. True some of the phones are crap, but there's also a lot that are good quality. Most of your computer parts are made in asia as well. I suppose you should plan on throwing them out in 3 months since they're such terrible quality... like your Lian Li cases.

Guess you don't know much about the iPhone since you are making so much blank statements about it.

You can use the $5.99 T-zone plan on almost any phone that has WAP capability. I can confirm this myself as I have this plan on my iPhone and EDGE is working with no problems. You do not have to stick with the "required" ATT 2-year plan as long as you jailbreak the phone.

get a grip people this is a $150 phone. not a $500 one. If it cost the same as the iphone then yes, it would be an utter piece of crap. for $150 it is pretty decient.

So what product are you exactly calling an utter piece of crap? Cause for a 3 yr. old to figure out an electronic product in 5 minutes is basically calling ALL electronic products an utter piece of crap.

For $150 I would rather just buy a regular phone than an iFone. If you have a friend that works at Apple, they receive a 30% discount, so you can purchase one for $280 excluding tax; that's how much I paid for mine.
