I've owned twice as much AMD as Intel :) Can't remember exactly how much everything was overclocked but the only things I never overclocked were the AMD 386 and Pentium 200 MMX. Man, going through a new processor every year from 2002-2006 seems crazy and a stupid waste of money to me now. That was the height of the PC upgrade beast era, where you were pressured to upgrade every year because of increasing system requirements. I still own all of these except for the Pentium 200 and Opteron 146. I should have sold all those AMD XP Processors back then, but I managed to fry the Throughbred by crushing it through incorrect heatsink installation of a Thermaltake Volcano. I added in all the process numbers because I thought it was interesting how far I've come since 1991 and an 800 nanometer CPU to a 45nm one which I will probably still be using in 2011, 20 years later, a 94.4% drop in process size. That's technology for you.

I can't remember the exact model of my first micro processor, all I remember was that it's intel, it have a small heatsink with no fan, and it run 16bit MS DOS ( i actually open it up, but wasn't educated in computers to know enough to be able to identify the hardware heh

This brings back some memories. Funny how I remember the early stuff but in between it is a bit foggy. I remember the 1st great overclockers like the Celeron 300. AMD's hey days with the early Athlon XP and Opteron, then the return of Intel with C2D, that lasted me quite some time before upgrading last month to a i7. Not that I really needed too.

Sinclair Spectrum (ZX80 - JetPack)
C64 (Fort Apocalypse)
Intel 286-16 (Wing Commander I)
Intel 386-33 (WC II)
AMD486-DX2 66
AMD 486-DX4 100

then had the early P1's and P2'
1st notebook (Transmonde Vibrant 166Tmx)

Celeron 300 @ 450
P4 1.8 @ 2.4
My 1st Shuttle SS51G HTPC (ended-up buying 2 and keeping them till last year)

Then switched to AMD again, but can't remember the OC's
Athlon XP Tbird 1.8
Opteron 148

Somewhere here I got a PS3 (1st console and ended up using it for bluray only)

Back to Intel for Core2Duo
E6300 1.8 @ 3GHz
Q6600 @ 3GHz
E2160 then E8400 for an HTPC (first MATX box)
Core2Duo U7600
Atom notebook

Currently using a i720 930 @ 4GHz
