XFX vs. EVGA

In case anyone else was wondering about COD5, Newegg will not give you a copy of it, apparently they ran out of stock or something. Or the promotion ran out.

At any rate they did give me a $25 credit for my next order. I think I'll be looking for something that I want for $25 now lol.

I respect newegg for doing that!

Hmmm, not to beat a dead horse but they are still offering it for other items so I doubt it's that they are oos. Maybe they figure they can just take away the COD game for the top few cards that are selling like crazy????

Here is a list of current hardware that come with COD.

Still nice of them to give $25. That's probably about as much as you could sell the game for online give or take.

I should have jumped on this deal. :(

EVGA all the way as gay XFX only give us europeans a, wait for it, a mighty 1 year resellers warranty, none of this leet double lifetime warranties that the states get and for that reason alone I dumped XFX and they have now lost a customer who spent roughly £1000 - £1500 a year on video cards from them at one point, it wont bother them any I guess but I figure if a company can treat people who actually pay more for their products than other countries do with such contempt to give us such a shitty warranty deal then they dont deserve our business.

EDIT:

Its now a greatly enhanced 2 years resellers warranty, its not worth the paper its written on if you ask me, I never did have a problem with their hardware, just sick of their total crap warranties for europe, but their ya go.

you can ask them to credit you back to the credit card, maybe you can get it right away and you dont need to wait for the next purchase. for this vote, I will vote for EVGA for me in long history I think EVGA has been doing good video card.

I got an XFX 260 (216, standard 576MHz) on Friday. COD World at War is taped to the box.

I also received my XFX 260 c216 on Friday from Newegg. World at War was included wrapped in some bubble wrap inside the box. However, I already have WaW so I need to figure out how I want to sell it (I don't yet have 50 posts so I can't post it in FS/FT just yet).

Throw it on ebay, you'll easily get 25 bucks for it.

when did this happened?

At least a year ago, maybe 2. I only buy from eVGA and XFX, and when it comes to ATi, only XFX.

Another thing I noticed about XFX in comparison to everyone else, they package their products VERY well. My 8800GTS 512mb card came in a generic cardboard box with plastic shell. Same with my HD4870 512mb, and there's nothing wrong with that. My XFX 8800GTS 640mb card, however, came with a slightly larger box, nice finish, and tons of padding. Yes, even unboxing the card was a pleasure.

Need I mention that 8800GTS 640 has since switched hands to a relative and still chugging along for nearly 2 1/2 years now.

I got a eVGA 260-192 a couple months ago, and stepped up to an eVGA 275 when they came out. I'm pretty happy with it, replaced my 8800GT which was getting a little long in the tooth for 1920x1200. I might get a second 275 for SLI or just wait for 300 series which should be out this summer or fall. maybe.

I would personally take an evga card, but that is only because all my nvidia cards have been evga and I have never had a problem yet
