Windows 95. Seriously

Might be a little late and wrong but don't you need MS DOS before installing windows 95?
only if your using an "upgrade to windows 95" disk, then youd need an exhisting OS. altho it would be easier even in this situation

So doing a backup to the Sd HDD didnt work, it saved everything in a weird format :(

iam trying to litteraly copy and paste the entire Hard drive to the Sd and it shouldnt take long.. only a year

my xp disk confuses it
XP is bad, it uses NTFS filesystem, which does not work on 95/98. Win 98 disk might just be your ticket. Or you find a custom boot disk that includes CD-rom drivers.

One last small update. i took the Hard drive out of the good one and jammed it into the one iam trying to get working. it boots windows 95 perfectly. so if i figure out how to duplicate the hard drive thatll work too

windworld isnt working at all

Next thing iam going to try is using my XP computer to get an image of the good win95 hard drive and copy it to the SD

the kansas city link works fine for me. there is some kind of download counter built into the page. if you have an adblocker or something like that maybe its interfering.

is the sd card set as active? how did you format it?

edit: here a yt vid that shows 98se install which is essentially the same. youre probably going to have to redo the sd card and recopy or install fresh.

I once had to work on a Dell 1.5 P4 with 256 MB ram with integrated graphics on a 5400 hard drive. It ran XP so slow and badly I had to put more memory in it just to be able to get anything done on it.

Hahaha they thaught they realy had something

It ended up the hard drive had something wrong with it too along with the usual viruses and spyware. I had no idea how they even used the computer as it was so slow. I ended up telling them just to buy a new computer, nothing worth salvaging in it.

Haha i can imagine you working over the PC and a 15 year old praying you dont tell them where all the viruses and spyware came from

As creepy as it sounds i love finding used computers and going through it like an fbi agent 🤣

Small update, i ordered a windows 98 bootdisk from ebay,
that sounds sketchy af. i wouldnt trust it. i would have asked someone here near you to make and mail one for cost. do you not have a working computer with a floppy drive, that old xp one?

There realy isnt any retro communitity near me, and an XP boot disk wont work

A modern boot disk would be sketchy but no one would realy have a motive to attack ancient computers, i wouldnt think
The ebay reviews were all very possitive
