When will I see..... MSRP?

MSRP? Good luck. You will see it when there's enough product in the channel to saturate the market. Which is, intentionally, being prevented from happening.

Look to Intel for MSRP, they are releasing product at their stated values. Problem is their CPUs are trash and their GPUs are low to mid range.

Could be enough weeks after the mix of TSMC 2, 3 Intel 18, etc... capacity make TSMC 4N family of node a bit of an boring one ?

That if MSRP is aggressively low, if AMD msrp is high enough, maybe they will be able to make it happen before that.

Some 5080 AIB msrp are high enough that I don't know... those could happen fast, $999 MSRP for popular sku that another story.

The letter "S" has always meant "Suggested".. so in the current economic landscape.. "suggested" varies once products hit the retail shelves.

I don't think we'll see it anytime soon. NVIDIA would have to make enough cards to at least meet the demand for them. They haven't done that since the 10 series.

Supply & demand.

only when dickheads stop scalping and supply is high. probably no time soon.

A bunch of AIBs jacked up their prices $200-300 recently, so...yeah, probably not for awhile.

4000 series super card were available at msrp not so long ago, we have seen some below MSRP occur during prime day last October:

https://www.pcgamer.com/amazon-prime-day-graphics-card-deals/
Galax RTX 4060 | 8 GB GDDR6 | 3,072 shaders | 2,565 MHz boost | $299.99 $289.97 at Amazon
XFX RX 7800 XT | 16 GB GDDR6 | 3,840 shaders | 2,430 MHz boost | $489.99 $429.99 at Newegg
Galax RTX 4070 Super | 12 GB GDDR6X | 7,168 shaders | 2,490 MHz boost | $579.99 at Amazon
Sapphire RX 7900 XT | 20 GB GDDR6 | 5,376 shaders | 2,450 MHz boost |
$689.99 $624.99 at
Gigabyte RTX 4070 Ti Super | 16 GB GDDR6X | 8,448 shaders | 2,655 MHz boost | $809.99 $769.99 at Newegg (save $40)

If they want to announce the 3GB vram super version by late August and AMD competition look as strong as it look in the leak, by september-October 2025 it could happen again on the low vram models needed to be sold.

RTX 4090's were at MSRP not that long ago because people stopped buying them and decided to wait for the 50 series cards. Again, I'm speaking about the ultra-high end cards. I don't even look at the mid-range stuff.

I don't even think that demand is that high. It's still a $2500 card that is only one tier above the 4090. It's just that supply is so much lower than demand.

Nobody is gonna bite at those $2500+ MSRPs once there's enough supply.

demand is that high
3352 FP4 tops with 1,800 GB/s bandwidth to 32 GB of vram, it is hard to really assess what the demand is for that type of product right now, but it could be high.

Maybe if you cannot chain them together it is minimal value, RTX-X40 or nothing, how much FP4 is useful right now, etc... maybe they are quite useful, but that a 250% jump from the 4090 with 33% more vram that has 80% more bandwith, for some people that a giant jump, the kind we were not used to see in compute for a long time

There is a demand for them. It's not as large as the-mid range or low end segments but its there. The problem is that NVIDIA does not make enough product to meet that demand. Until I can just walk into Microcenter on any given day and buy a 5090, there is an insufficient amount of them.

vs mid-range would be interesting to know right now, until the 96GB version get released with good volume, the demand for the 32GB could be high.

The 3,300 FP4 tops a 5090 that similar to what a Nvidia H100 pci express could do in FP4 ( it had 3,200 FP8 tops, not that far from HBM edition 4,000), the used H100 are still going for $25-40k on ebay, what kind of demand is there in the world for that kind of tensor core capability...

I agree. Most people like myself probably had interest in one, but with the lack of cards we got frustrated. I don't see myself getting one until demand decreases, and even then I'm not so sure.

People are paying $2700 for a base 5090 now.

I was all eager to upgrade from my 4090. If this is how much the top GPU is going to cost from now on, it seems to make more sense to save up for a 6090.

It doesn't seem worthwhile to spend this much and go through the trouble of selling the 4090 for a 25-30% jump in gaming performance. The 5090 will probably have pretty lousy resale value if the 6090 gets on a new node and provides a jump like the 3090 to 4090.

Supply and demand.

"Next year we're just going to make one 6090 card... MSRP of $3000, actual price.. priceless."

There will unfortunately always be a supply and demand problem with these cards.

Next time will the one where used previous large vram halo GPU has the fist massive resale value drop since 2020 because we will get much better price-performance and they will be easy to buy... ;) .. next time... just around the corner...

provides a jump like the 3090 to 4090.

3090 has to this days, really strong resale value, more than 4 years later after said 3090 to 4090 jump.... the 5090 will be a 32GB 512 bits 1.8 gbps bandwidth card, will not a surprise if (a bit like the 3090->4090) that does not change much in between the 5090 and 6090, keeping the 5090 has one of the highest vram with very high bandwidth option under $10,000 around.

Anything can happen, fab capacity could shift, AI compute demand could implode or shift toward completely different, but if again people that got a 5090 msrp will be able resale it around ~$2000 during the 6090 launch when they are impossible to buy would not be surprising, having paid a bit of tax and electricity during summer to own them....

No. Fuck the current MSRP narrative. I want to see a return to the days of when we would look at the MSRP and laugh because the parts were sold for quite a bit less. MSRP used to an indicator of wishful thinking and price gouging in the opposite way that we have come to think about it... Which is basically never going to happen again. Maybe we should count our lucky stars that other markets haven't wizened up or at least been able get away with this kind of shit.

Nobody has experienced shortages on the Super models because they aren't in high demand. So that really doesn't matter. I think people are inquiring more about the Halo 5090 in this case.

I'm not worried about the 5070 or 5070 Ti being sold out. They are barely better than what most of us are already running.

6090 will definitely be on a new node. Rumor is TSMC 3nm. Possibly even more VRAM than the 5090. We'll see.

Yes good chance for a node update, but the 4090 was also on a new node, the 3090 today are still going over $850 on ebay, popular sku for $1000. Even if the 6090 has a new node, 32GB of vram -512 bus could keep its value for years

I am not sure I would call the linked rumors, it is twitter account taking guess

I got $750 for my 3090FE this week. I thought that was tremendous. The high vram cards hold their value well.

5090? Probably never. 5080? Probably 3 months. I don't think nvidia will ever make enough 5090s to meet demand.

I agree But if the 6090 comes out sooner then 2 years i think most people would hold on to what they have. But if they up the memory again people might just start all over again and you would see some cheaper 5090. I would like to think most people would hold what they have but man people can be crazy

The 6090 will probably not be the full die is my guess, I think the only reason the 5090 is the full die was to ensure it's a halo product above the 4090. They'll likely be on 2nm by then, so it'll be a bit easier to produce but probably cost more. I don't see them moving on from 32 gb any time soon.

The 5090 is like the 4090, only 88-89% enabled die.

GDDR7 allowing for 3GB and 4GB (even up to 8GB is on those specs) module could make what Nvidia used us to change quite a bit, relatively small memory controller-bus could handle 36-48GB

definitely. although imo, the jump from my current 7800x3d + 4090 to a 9800x3d + 5090 is too small to justify the rather large expense. i guess i'll keep it until the 6090 and zen6 (or whatever intel lake) come.

If I was on an RTX 4090, I probably wouldn't be making the jump to a 5090 either.

I got a samsung 57 ultrawide, but im limited to native resolution at 120hz with my 4090. A 5090 gives me 30% more power which goes a long way at this dual 4k resolution and allows me to run native 240hz.

The only people who NEED a 5090 are us 57 users. Everybody else generally can suffice with a 4090. Especially since the majority of PC gamers still game on a potato.

There are other monitors besides that one that can utilize that extra performance. I certainly could on my 4K.

I have a 4k160 27 Innocn FALD and an alienware 4k240hz oled that I am more than happy with my 4090 on. Yea a 5090 would make the experience better on those two displays but its not critical like the 57 that i really "need" the 5090 for

I am in the same boat with the Samsung 57". The 5090 is the only viable option for me, which makes the current supply situation extra aggravating given that I am having to run 4k or higher resolutions on a 1080 Ti!

So in my neck of the woods RTX 5080s are on average 1500-2200$. RTX 5090 are being sold for anywhere from 3300 - 6000$. Still can't find one in stock. Wtf is this crap? A 4090 is selling for on average 3500-4500$. It is ridiculous. Used 4090 for 2200-2500$ if you are lucky.
