haha I was thinking the exact samething...wording and all (well..most of it anyway) :D weird  :p

:p

everyone knows an FX-55 OCed to 6ghz..or even 1,000,000Ghz would OWN all else....even hardcore intel fans cant deny that :p

you said dream.........

how about owning the global AI built on cell cpus? They make Terminator-like scenario (from the movie) a fairly good possibility. - the hard part is finding the key to controlling all of it.. So instead of AI nuking everyone, u just own the world :D

... u said dream.... :p

I am pretty sure dothan would own FX55 if clocked at 2.6ghz but that's not a dream, it's a reality

Man, what weird dreams you guys have... Dreaming about processors... I dream about women....

:)

I'd have to say my ideal processor would be... A Cell Processor with at least 10ghz of speed.
Although... Cell technology is still being developed. So I'd just have to go with an FX55 OCed like crazy.

You don't know that. Besides. This is a DREAM CPU thread. You could say Alfredo Sauce CPU with 30ghz clockspeed and matching 30ghz FSB with build in A/C and some fuzzy dice danglers, named the Pimped 30 CPU and it would qualify for this thread. lol

A brain that will work with my motherboard
Will ownz all those 1 bajillion ghz FX-55s

Oh no wait. I know! The McDonalds Grease Machine CPU. It's fueled by the grease from McDonalds food. Not only does it do 50ghz at 10c and can be oc'd to 100ghz at only an increase of 5c, but if you supersize your meal, that's more grease, and you'll get an easy 200ghz clockspeed at 20c which is well below optimum thermal temperatures. Not to mention you'll get 75 miles to the gallon with the bad boy.

Too far? That was a weird dream. I ate some cold pizza before I went to bed that night.

this:

this OWNS everything out now. dont even begin to question its awesome power.

I'll trade you my brain CPU for your McDonalds one

i still think an FX-55 would own all clocked at 1,000,000 ghz...not because its the best there is..but simply because of the name :p..

although that pimped out processor is a close second :p

ROFLMAO

I would like to have the FX-57 dual core and hope that it's as fast as everyone hopes it is.

My dream CPU would be a Intel P72, 50 cores, XGL 512bit, 1865 Pin Proc, idle temperature at room temp., 1C higher at full use, with variable Ghz scalable up to 500 GHz, hey u said it was a dream CPU , i have messed up dreams... :D

FX-55!!

i am tierd of intel changing sockets making stupid decisions, 478 - dead, 775 - new but almost dead also... i can't get a 478 socket 3.4c processor, because it's unsupported by intel now.

about the cyrix thing... plenty of old cpu's used high voltages. They didnt pull a lot of amps. That thing is probably frozen compared to today's cpu's.

Cyrix's were notoriously hot and unstable.

Hmmm... What kinda watts did they put out though? Not to offend the intel'ers in here.... but Prescott would probably do a better job warming the room. :p

The heatsinks used back then were probably next to nothing. I dunno. Just a different kind of hot.

Oh wow, the Cyrix 3 series only did 20W at 2.2 volts. I KNOW the older cyrix were hot as hell, though... Plus this cpu has no L2 cache, so many less transistors.

Ok, the Cyrix MX was on 2.9v-3.3v and ran around 70C, it seems.
