What's your current mp3 player?

Nokia N800 + Canola 2 + 2 SD card slots + FM tuner + Linux-based OS + Bluetooth with A2DP support + 11g Wi-Fi + tablet functionality + user replaceable battery = PMFW!!! :D

120gb iPod classic (and it's almost full!!)
With rubberized cover and screen protector... Skull Candy headphones.

I can't wait for the day that we laugh at the 120gb capacity of the iPod...

The only reason I've never gotten a touch is that they just don't hold enough music.

When they reach 120+gb I'll spring the big bucks!

I use my Ipod Video 30GB for music while on the go but for travel I use my Zen Vision 30GB.

Reasons why I love my Vision?

-Magnesium body
-User replaceable quick-change batteries
-Excellent sound quality
-FM Radio with record ability
-Voice Recorder
-Multiple codec video playback
-Simple, easy to use interface
-9 hrs of video, 26 hours of music
-CF expansion slot for quick photo viewing on the go
-Compact and portble dock with adjustable kickstand for use on long flights

Things I don't like include:

-Poor viewing angles
-Limited capacity
-No ability to make playlists on the go or rate songs
-Some videos require conversion to play

I got my creative visiom M 30bg. It's been great for two years, and battery life is still decent. I hate the glossy black though :(. Makes it look terrible in direct sun light with all the cobweb scratches. Either way, I'm looking towards the Zune 120 as my next mp3. Although I've heard a new hardward upgrade is coming up, so I might as well wait for that.

I upgraded last week to a Nokia N85 from my N78. In terms of media playing capability it's pretty much the same thing. I still love the built in FM transmitter; it's my favorite feature of N-Series phones.

Something I've started to use more is Nokia Sports Tracker. I only mention this because I listen to music as I run, and it shows me what I was listening to at any point in my workout. It's very cool software. What it does is use GPS to track you over time. As you do things like listen to music or take pictures or videos, it keeps track of where you were and tags it on the map as go. When you're done, you can upload it to the server via wifi or 3G. There, it uses a mashup of Google Maps and the data it collected to show what happened where. An example of someone's running workout.

So yeah, I love using my phone as my media player.

My phone.. LG chocolate

I sold my zune awhile ago but might buy an itouch soon

Iphone 3G 8GB model. It all I need. I never understood why people need to carry there entire music library with them.

Currently using my old fat PSP. Not too great in the portability department. I would like something I can jog with and I'm not a ipod fan. Was thinking about getting the cheap Sansa OLED unit. Any opinions?

Using the SANSA Clip for workouts... with new phones and a Zune for mobile everything else...

iPhone, iPhone, Touch, Classic, Nano, iRiver S10, very occasionally one of my Nokia N-series.

The iPhone is a great iPod, just a hopeless phone. My Nokias are great phones, just a hopeless MP3 player.

I just grabbed a Sansa Fuze 4GB refurb from newegg. Seems to work well, and both the onboard memory and the micro SD card all register to the same library which was important to me.

A black 30gb Zen Vision: M. I've had it for over two years and feel no need to replace it yet.

Currently using an iRiver iHP40 from 2002.

Looking to replace it with Cowon S9 32GB when it comes out, Hopefully it will have a SDHC slot, smaller versions don't.

I have a Zune 120 and is the most fucking retarded piece of shit i have ever bought, regret it since day one i installed their lame software. No more shitty players with stupid sync software to make me go through loopholes. I'm sick and disgusted about this product. I'm really considering dumping this POS on ebay then get a sansa or anything with drag and drop.

As far as required software goes, I find the Zune software to be better than anything else I've used. Obviously it would be better if it was drag-and-drop, but it's not too bad. What are your issues with it?

I love my Zune. If you're going to get rid of yours, let me know. I'm in the market to get another as a gift.

Cowon D2 8GB and two cheap 16GB SDHC cards with FLAC files on them. It has a few quirks, which can be fixed for the most part, but I really like the 40+ hours battery life and all the playback formats available.

I use sandisk sansa players usually because you don't have to worry about special software you just sync up with WMP and its done. Still uses a crappy proprietary plug instead of a standard mini usb though. Why can't these companies stick to a standard instead of hoarking us for special cables we don't need? I already know the answer is money but they still need to cut that $&*t out.

I personally have the 4gb Zune player and I love it compared to the 2gb Ipod that I had for a long time. I like the Zune Software alot better than iTunes and I am just waiting to get a steadier pay income to possibly get the zune pass.

I had a 30gig Ipod Classic but I've recently gave it to my wife and I purchased a 32gig Itouch 2nd gen. So far I am loving it. I've never had an issue with iTunes. I plug in my iTouch and all my songs and subscribed podcasts are synced. Seems pretty easy to me.

Just an update....

If the 64GB iTouch (3rd gen) comes out and Jailbreak will work on it within a reasonable amount of time so that I can install VLC to playback FLAC files, then I'll consider that over the 32GB Cowon S9 I mentioned previously.

I'm in the exact same position and I cant really put my finger on why I like the zune software so much more than itunes.

I stare at databases all day long: datasheets, spreadsheets, queries, consoles, CMD, visual studios (not.very.effing.visual!) and mySQL all day long, and arguably the most artistic thing I partake in... is just another database? I'm sure coverflow works beautifully if you own all your music on the up-and-up, but I don't (regretably), so I used itunes list view.

I don't use zune's list view: zune doesn't have a list view. It finds all (as in 90%) of your albums respective album art and album details and writes it to the meta data. When you go AFK for a few minutes it pulls pictures of the band your currently looking at from its own little database online and displays them against a gradiant, like a nice screen saver.

Wireless syncing's really nice.

oh a real nice advantage is the non-shitty headphones that are included [edit: my zune 80 came with some decent headphones, the ones with the magnets on the back (anti-tangling method, works pretty well), but apparently the new 120 ships with the old crappy headphones?) The ones included with ipods are atrocious.

blegh, I could go on for a while, but its just a flurry of little things like that.

I have a Rio Karma, Cowon iAudio X5, and an 8GB iPhone 3G.

The Karma has the best interface. The X5 is the best all around (great audio quality, no software required to transfer music, plays just about anything). The iPhone is... bearable.

The Karma has pretty much been retired. I always have my phone with me and the X5 stays in the car most of the time.

Sansa 2gb clip. The only time I use mp3 players is working out, working outside, working on the car... pretty much nowhere I can sit down and use all the bells and whistles of a nice player, although I am looking into getting a Cowon for the great sound quality.

1GB Sansa Clip.

When I'm studying, or sitting down for a long period of time I have my laptop or another computer nearby which can stream my music (thank you WinAmp remote)

still rockin my Zune 80GB. Got it replaced by MS cause of a bad headphone jack. getting at least 12 to 14 hours of battery out of each charge. plus i have my car charger, and my laptop. can't beat that at all.
