In the early goings by changing the alerts over to this I have to get something going to get some Nitian. Overall I suspect it's a positive change but will likely need refinements like anything else would when they gauge lots of real world feedback.
Hate the new Nightwave system as is. it should have been a supplement to the alerts system, not a replacement. Maybe I am just slow, but it takes me until Sunday to complete all of the tasks (averaging 2-3 hours played per day). Sometimes not getting one, like the Lua test one last week, which I tried to PUG and ended up just giving up. This means all of my playtime is doing stuff i don't really want to be doing, because I still need to finish the last levels of Cetus faction, Quills faction (need Eidolon shards), Fortuna faction, Vent Kids faction, and Vox Solaris faction (or whatever the second Fortuna faction is). Some of the rank rewards I get along the way are nice, but most are stuff I never would have really put in much work for prior. After about 6 ranks, i have about enough for some niatin, or some of the other "shop" items. So for me, after about 2 weeks, I can afford a shop item.
In the old system, i would average about 1 Niatin alert per every other day (so roughly 3 per week). I could also jump on alerts for plastids, gallium, void traces, argon crystals, etc. when I was low on those items. When I was first starting, I also had nice people carry me on some of the alerts to get those items, since I was not far enough in the star chart. If I didn't want to do an alert, i just ignored it. The only alert item I ever had trouble with was Vauban neuroptics or systems, which were a pretty rare alert, but that still only took me about a month to have the alert occur during one of my play sessions. That doesn't even include the cosmetic helmets, which now require a conscious choice to pick over one of the other needed resources after a weeks' farming, whereas before if i saw one that interested me I just just jump in the alert and 5 minutes later i had the Blueprint.

Yeah, and the new Thumper tanks are a pretty cool encounter. I like that they are tough, but you can figure it out on the fly.
Seen people complain about these, but i think they are a fun fight, specially when they jump in during the middle of a bounty stage. Also enjoying that they are an easier way to get some of the fish parts I have been struggling to get.

Is there a max range on the Opticor, like out on the plains of Eidolon?

Are the Boltace, Sarpa, and Redeemer worth all the cost? I don't have Akstiletto anymore, they're Aksomati

if you want to max your MR then everything is worth building. the redeemer prime is supposed to be good. I'd not use it though. the sarpa has a niche use to strip armor from enemies.

The Sarpa and Redeemer are fun to play around with, but I rarely use them in higher level missions. Their range is too short for actually using them to cut through enemies with melee. The gun part of it requires holding down melee, so 2 seconds of charge per blast, which is too slow to be useful when there are a ton of mobs. I actually have the same problem with the glaive weapons. My favorite melee weapons are the Gram Prime, Guandao, and Lesion, though I have been building a lot of stuff lately to at least get knocked out for MR.
I will say that I like melee a lot more since the melee changes done recently. Quick Melee before was pretty boring and I only felt it was effective on my 3 favorites. I have enjoyed being able to try out different weapons and their combos, which can both up the damage output, as well as provide useful "effects". One of my current favorites is Tempo Royale, where the combo ends in a ground slam. I just instantly switch to my Tiburon Prime and shoot down the mid-air (or on the ground) enemies. On fissure missions (which I saw are back up), I would often just do Octavia's 4, then 1,2,3. and spend the next 30 seconds chaining that combo.

Yeah, Tempo Royale (with cheese) is a great one, but I use it on my Galatine Prime, the Gram Prime just doesn't gel for me somehow... Probably should look up a better build, but I also need to build a few more modular melee weapons since I have not found one I really like there either.

Galatine is a bit faster, but I have Berserker on Gram Prime and it gets up to speed quickly (and 75% increase is nice). Once it gets going... it is pretty much non-stop carnage. I forget the details, but I know Gram Prime has the better overall damage.

Eh, I can't imagine doing without my maiming strike/scoliac/range riven build. It has been nerfed a lot the past year but still is very effective. It kills everything non-sortie in one hit and the kill zone is huge. Prices now are probably more affordable than ever.

Tiburon(Prime) is my current most used. Tenora is not too tough to get and it can be debated that it is better than Soma Prime. Pyranna Prime is pretty fun for secondary.

get an amprex, it is my favorite primary. rivens went through 2 nerfs but it is still extremely effective, especially if you can find a riven with punchthrough.

Honestly, I'd say that there are so many weapons that you are generally good to go with anything of a style you like (rapidfire / single shot / shotgun / weird whatever) and max the mastery just to do it. If you find it to be decently fun, toss a forma on it (if needed) and rock anywhere other than the highest end content. I forget to swap to 'serious' weapons at least once a week and generally find most stuff still passable. Just as long as you don't get caught by the wolf while leveling everything at once. I was the only one with a decent weapon last encounter, and a supra vandal took a while to chew through him... (thank god it was corrosive)

It's a bit of a grind, but the Opticor Vandal is worth it- think laser bazooka...

Ranked up jaw sword and have not touched it since. I keep the Mire around for my "status stick".
I miss the days when i had like 10+ blueprints for the Jaw Sword because i would help random new players do the alert to get one.

I don't remember the Jaw specifically, but the heat sword is one to pick up if you are new- Infested are weak against hear, and it has a great slam attack that will give you a safety valve.

Heat sword is free if you use the promo code (HEATSWORD is it?), and it even comes with a catalyst installed.

Yep- it got me from about MR3 to … 12? Maybe 15? I kept coming back to my precious two forma (!?) heat sword. Back when Forma were rare...

The fastest Viper reload speed is 0.4? Quickdraw and another 40% from the mod that drains 10

And the is the best Wolf Cred item to buy Nitain Extract or something else? And then the Corinth or what weapons?

it is all up to you. I am far enough along now that anything that required a good chunk of niatin extracts to build, i already have built. I could probably use a few more to build a couple of items, but right now, I will worry about building those items later. I have been using all of my credits for the orokin catalysts and reactors (primarily the reactors i believe, whichever are the ones you put on your Warframe). When i first started playing the game, i focused on trying to get all of the different frames and weapons that I could, but i basically ignored modding, or at least ranking up the mods at all. Then I hit Uranus (insert joke here), and I could not get close to completing missions anymore solo, and even with groups i struggled. It was then that I started ranking up the mods, and came to realize how much of an impact they can have on making things easier. In order to get all of those upgraded mods onto a frame or weapon, you have got to have the potatoes in them. At this point I think I have a reactor in every Primed frame I have (only missing Loki, Ash, Vauban and Excalibur), as well as Nidus, Ivara, Harrow, Revenant and Gara.
So now, i am focusing on getting Catalysts, to put those in more of my weapons. I have been playing with a Sobek (full auto shotgun) lately, and am having fun with it, but need more mod capacity. I got a Riven for it, and when you combine that with Acid Shells mod and the Syndicate mod, it is pretty fun, i just want to be able to rank up those mods.
This goes back to my previous problem with Nightwave. Before, I would not have had to choose between Reactors, Catalysts, or Niatin. They were all independent (granted you had to be online during the alert, which I guess I was just lucky a lot).

So each item you built with nitain was good? No lemons or weird recoil, etc.?

I have the Ogris but it's gathering dust, don't like it much

That's the thing about Warframe. The weapons are so much a personal choice that the best you can do it look at a couple of videos and go off impressions of similar weapons. But eventually you are going to need them all for MR rank anyway, so just grab anything that sounds fun and try it. I generally like high rate of fire weapons, but love a couple of the bows and shotgun style secondary weapons. If something is going to cost a large chunk of rare resources that you don't currently have, get the blueprint and ignore it until it shows up in your 'ready to build' queue. It's like a surprise present...

But if you are looking for anything in particular, let me know. I have a decent pile of blueprints and prime weapon parts laying around...

It all depends on what you want to do in the game. If you want to get to MR27 you will need to build pretty much everything you can get your hands on, including vaulted items. At MR27 you can often forma items and not have any mods pop off. if you have 20 nitain or so you are probably fine. if you don't have access to plat then you will want to buy lots of catalysts and reactors. all weapons when modded can take you into endgame, however some are better than others. That is why I would suggest sticking with the meta weapons.

today leveling stuff up may be very hard for you. tomorrow it won't be. As a hint, I'd suggest never trying to level anything solo. Coop defense missions are great for this. If you have access to onslaught or elite onslaught that is even better. Defense fissures are also great, as you get void traces, relics and prime parts all at the same time.

Seconded on all of that (MR24 here), but also remember to have fun. I solo once in a while just to poke around maps and find the hidden corners and look at the scenery.

oh, I am not saying solo is bad, it is just bad for leveling stuff. I used to do all the syndicate missions solo. it allows you to find all the medallions and once you figure out all the hiding spots it becomes easy to get them all, especially with a a max range limbo.

You never know if something is really good until you build and try it. There were definitely a few duds. Guessing you are on PC, if you ever need help. IGN: RhettAlexander

If the Grineer has a physical shield and you have the Drakgoon, can you bounce the flak and bypass the shield? And shoot the Stug at the ground and the splash damage gets them?

Yep- or Valk ripline it out of their hands, or Lenz near them, or just shoot right through the shield if you have +1 penetration... The physics gives you a ton of options.

I usually aim for the feet, and often their feet seem to be unprotected, or they get hit. As mentioned, use walls, boxes, and other environmental objects to use the physics to bounce the projectile off of. This is especially important for the Zarr(one of my favorites for projectile-based guns), which you can accidentally blow yourself up with if you aren't tight with your aiming.

the sobek with associated mod can destroy chains of enemies. but it depends on what you have access to. are you able to do sorties and get rivens? with a riven for a decent weapon that is what you build toward.

Not sure that any of the weapons really "CC" enemies, especially not like ability CC (Radial Blind, Gara passive ability, Chaos, etc.). Corinth, Staticor and other weapons with impact procs (as well as Blast) that are strong enough to throw the enemies, can keep them off their feet for a while. Weapons with electricity will electrocute enemies, stunning them for a few seconds. Weapons with fire will burn enemies, causing them to panic for a little bit.
I do love the Corinth, and think it has one of the best sounds and feel to a gun. I also like the Sarpa, a gunblade that can knock enemies down pretty reliably.

Eh, I like scoliac with range riven + maiming strike. It has had heavy nerfs but still is effective in killing everything in 1 shot, except maybe nox. Pistols I use a crit catchmoon, which can reach 100% crit without a riven. And then an amprex. Nerfs also but still effective.

I love my Supra Vandal- niche weapon, but 300+ rounds of corrosive will strip the armor off of the Wolf (if wolf<50). Bullethose FTW!
