for crossfire what profile do you guys use? Gears of war profile or just plain AFR friendly?
Aaaannd.... nerfed. Latest patch: Modified the collision size of Raiders Plasma Gun projectile. The weapons damage and rate of fire remain the same. This new plasma gun came out for the raider, if you have 100k xp it is really good / over powered right now. The thing is you can get mid airs really easy, I suggest if you are currently boosted you should try to level up your mid air badge in arena with this gun. I am sure they will nerf it very soon so grab the xp you can while it is still OP.
It had to be, the collision sphere had to have been twice as big as the projectile itself. I tried in the training area and I was DEFINITELY missing shots, but they still connected as hits.

Anyone else experiencing a crash to the in game menus after the round is over?
Basically after a round is over and a few seconds after your scoring breakdown appears you crash out of the server and go back to the menu UI. None of the menu options are there. All you see is the 'Learn More' thing at the bottom right of the screen peddling upgrades for gold. Usually I have to click on "Learn More" to get the UI back. After that everything works like before.
This seemed to start happening about a week ago.
Not even close to the nerf it needed. All games I have been in the leader is a Plasma Pak noob. Everyone of them hits over 5+ air mails a game. They have ruined this game. Tribes was simple fun. Not all these skins and paks. Every pak this far is overpowered to gain initial sales and I see them keeping this trend going to keep $$$ coming in. If this is where PC gaming is going with MicroTransactions, I am not upgrading to the latest and greatest and will fade out from it.
It kills me the people like myself that use the Bolt Launcher and actually have to aim and get excited over an Air Mail kill aren't even praised for our flag running skills especially against these plasma noobs.
WHo said anything about CTF??? Go play some Team Deathmatch and you will see what I am talking about, every time.

I am not saying you are wrong, but I would rather get killed by a plasma than a machine gun. And everything in this game is balanced around CTF. Once you get into other modes their are clearly OP weapons and classes and UP weapons and classes.
To fully upgrade one character, I quickly added up the XP required before returning my PC parts, and it came out to almost 200,000 XP I believe. Meaning you would need about 40 days before you have one class you can have fun with. Remember there are like 7 classes in total and optimally (at least for me since I'm a pub player and people usually don't follow their role) you would want to have all 7 classes unlocked and atleast partially upgraded so that you can counter enemy attacks. I lost count of how often I got frustrated playing a doombringer on the flag and getting shelled by a juggernaut half way across the map. I keep pinging him and nobody helps. Ever. So many times I wished I had a brute unlocked or a decently equipped soldier at least to quickly switch and harass the jug back.. but because you can't spare any XP you're just fucked and keep dying and dying.
Now they added loadouts which should have been in since the game came out, and they cost money.. are you serious..
It's really ridiculous. I hate F2P games, their value is horrible.
And just to make it clear, you ARE at a big disadvantage unless you are fully upgraded. After rank 6, which takes just a a handful of days of casual play to get to if not less, you will get matched up against anyone rank 7 and above. I don't know what the max rank is but I've seen at least people level 40 in my matches when I was rank 9. Now rank doesn't mean anything more than how long you've played, but in reality it will mean that your opponents (or teammates, regardless. Other people you play with) are all better equipped than you are.
Equiptment upgrades make a huge difference. For example your base HP might be 1000. But if you fully upgrade your armor (which costs about 20-25k XP in total) you will get 1500 HP, plus other bonuses like 15% faster regeneration and such.
So unlike what people said here, equipment>skill.
Take the pathfinder, for instance. The stock spinfuser is fine. Ultracap I or II is likely something you will take for other classes, but is useful. The impact nitron is stock, and no one uses the alt grenade, and you really only need to get the first upgrade (+1 ammo). The thrust pack is useless, so you need only max out the energy pack (stock pack), and you're good to go. Everything else is optional, and imho, doesn't make a huge difference, though reach is usually the second perk people go for.
That's kinda' amusing.... for the most part this is exactly my build. I never bought the Thrust Pack (and I certainly could, I have over 180k XP saved as of this morning) but I did max out the armor, energy pack and spinfusor. I think I even maxed out the shotgun, but I never use it. I've seen some folks do pretty good with it but I seem to suck pretty terrible with it, so I focus on what I do well: running flags home and chasing our flag.
