Ok I looked. You're smarter than I give you credit for. ;)

However I don't buy the argument that volume accounts for the discrepancy in reported failure rates.

Go ahead and have the last word. I'm off to play some wonderful games on my PS3. There are so many, I often have trouble deciding what to play. :D

not tryin to be a smartass, but do you really feel like theres that many good games on the ps3? there really hasnt been any to me worth getting outside of a rental. i have a 360, and most of the games thats out have been out on the 360 for a while. elder scrolls, splinter cell, rainbow 6, godfather, etc. the only game comin out that ive played thats worth gettin is ninja gaiden, but i bought the xbox version like 6 or 7 months ago used for like $14 (never had the original xbox).

Its still to early to tell... but Home could be a lot cooler than we all think. Just because its 3D doesn't mean you can't do what XBL is doing. I'm sure one will be able to walk through all the virtual space, or bring up a hud to do the same things you can do in XBL... but its... free. PS3 is constantly adding new content.... I don't know about any other PS3 owners but I feel like as time goes on here, more and more stuff is being released faster.

At .. no .. charge .. to .. me.

I don't have to hassle with XBL refill cards or paying a monthly subscription. People can complain about the current PSN set-up.. but most of this is just temp. After Home is released and a few more fireware updates, my PS3 is gonna have a lot of features, that I can consider added content to my origonal purchase price.

As for those that are hopping onto the baggon late... when Home is released + additional features, will be getting a lot more bang for the buck, straight out of the box. Not to include w/e games that are out.

Sure, you might not be into the whole "sims" type enviroment, but if home does what XBL does + more.. .how is that a bad thing?

I love how you keep saying "at no charge" to you for it. That couldn't be further from the truth... you're paying for it in the price of the console, and it's not like $3 a month is overbearing for people who are buying several-hundred-dollar consoles, typically. You're acting as though a doctor's office should be recommended for handing out little toffee's in a dish in their waiting room :p.

When I bought my PS3, things like Home were not advertised to me either on the box or any part in the store. So I would consider this added content or value to something I purchased back in December. I am not paying a subscription for this added content. I bought the PS3 as is... like my last consoles, but over time my PS3, unlike my past consoles is updating and changing.

Just like video games. How do you feel when the developer releases a map pack, add-on level, extra missions, extra characters, at no cost to you. ie: PC games. Do you feel like the money you spent is stretching farther and getting you more?

How would you feel if you went and looked at cars, found one on the lot that you like and the dealer gave you a price and for all you know, what your about to buy is what you see. 8 months later they call you up and go "hey we are gonna add better exhaust, warming/cooling cup holders, sun roof and light tinting windows" ... you freak and go, "I don't want any of that, I don't have the money for it". Car sales man goes "That couldn't be further from the truth... you're paying for it in the price of the car."

PS3 adding content to their console and then comparing that to free toffee is a bit

I just think its funny you go off about cost and how X360 is so much cheaper, yet if you try to get the X360 to do everything the PS3 is doing, they cost about the same. Believe it or not.

I rather spend a tad bit more money up front than get raped by microtransactions. (not saying Sony doesn't already do microtransactions, but not on the scale MS does. Come-on... paying for a map-pack? )

Actually, I have shown it does not cost about the same by a longshot ;). If you stopped rolling your eyes for a minute, you might be able to read. Try it out! :)

You were comparing the cost of a premium x360 compared to a 60 gig PS3. I'm gonna have to  once again.

You want to get all high and mighty, I can search craigslist for a 60 gig + 3 or more games, maybe an extra controller and a few BR movies for under 600 w/o tax. Anyone can go bargin shopping.

If you want *all* of the features that comes with the 60 gig PS3 its going to cost you basically the same. If you want the HDMI out, larger hard drive, HD-Drive, XBL (for 2-3 years) wireless adaptor.... + lets not forget how much it costs to repair once out of warranty

DAMN I GOT OWNED BY PC LAG. DOULBE POST GG :(

Sigh, if you're not even going to read anything I type and just continue rolling your eyes and spouting random things that have already been shown to be false, well, there's no point in talking. Adios until someone else says something relevant.

I'm afraid you've succeeded in bringing us down to your level and beating us with experience.

Other way around, actually :p. Reading your posts is like reading the IGN VNboards... amusing for a few minutes, then gratingly annoying. Why such hostility, anyway? Is that all you can do, rather than actually have a discussion on a... discussion forum?

the fact that you even visit the IGN boards *shudder* without owning a 360 or a PS3 speaks more than you ever write. i have a hard time even going to IGN for game reviews without developing a migraine.

don't confuse indifference for hostility.
you forget i chose both sides in the " console war" you love to take part in and swap sides when it's convenient.

I'm happy with my PS3 purchase. I've enjoyed watching a few BR movies on it, works fine as a normal DVD player. I enjoy the Bluetooth remote I picked up for it... makes it nice not having to worry about line of sight.

I've enjoyed the games that have come out thus far, and looking forward to the ones coming out soon. I can't wait for home, and I love supporting folding@home.

I like the plug and play features, I like being able to hook up any usb mouse / keyboard / digital camera and them work. Looking forward to M&KB support with the PS3 in UT2K7.

I'm sure there are tons out there that feel the same as I. You don't, and have made that clear, but why are you trying to make me change my mind on something I'm enjoying and feel that is money well spent.

I like the saying "you get what you pay for". You wanna be cheap (by your price guide  ), go with the X360, lets hope you have good luck and don't end up being the puppet that plays the "lets go through 4 consoles before you get one that works".

Good luck on your X360 conquest.

I don't view it as a "console war" ROFL, only fan-girls do. If I didn't visit sites to find out people's opinions, how would I decide which to buy other than looking at the worthless product packaging ROFL? I'm a consumer. I buy what's best for the money and higher quality, not "OMG COOL MAN IT'S MADE BY XXXXXXX!" blindly. My comments were ALL made *purposely* from the point of view of a buyer, which again if you bothered to read my quotes instead of typing out more drivel, you'd have known.

Here, since you like them so much:

There goes the hostility again... who in the world said I was trying to convince anyone? I was trying originally to share my comments while deciding, until you and michaelo, so engrossed with your heads in the collective sand of the beaches of Sony, couldn't stand my thoughts echoing about and decided to launch a debate in which you bothered, not a single time, to actually debate, rather just fling silly personal insults about as though that made your argument stronger.

  Here's a pair for you, too, since you also seem to enjoy them!

Oh brother.

*nevermind, so pointless to continue arguing

enjoy gathering opinions (i mean trolling) about consoles you may or may not purchase.
