The Outer Worlds 2

Funny. First game was good enough so looking forward to this. Hopefully with better presentation (ditch unreal).

the E3 announcement trailer is one of the funniest and most self aware trailers ever released...classic!

I remember in one of their interviews during Development, they mentioned for the first game they were using an inexpensive engine and less Dev time to ensure there was interest enough for a franchise. If it did well, they had bigger plans for the sequel. I'll try and track it down, but hopeful that this one will be expanded and better looking.

Going skip this. First one was a disappointment. Got very monotonous after maybe 8 hours.

That trailer. Ugh. Made by people who think they are more clever than they actually are.

Great teaser that is on the mark. I'd prefer if they took their time on it though. Outer Worlds was fun but rough. I'd like to see them get up to AAA quality for the sequel.
They have the backing of Microsoft know, so it had better be.

I enjoyed outer worlds 1, but it got super easy towards the end even in the hardest difficulty. Once you have a fully specced chain gun or w/e and one for each element, everything is an insta kill

I loved the first one. Very rugged Alien/Firefly space feel. What do people call it now? Future Retro? I know people knock it for the game play, but nothing wrong with appreciating the eye candy.
It tried for Firefly vibe but IMO wasn't well written enough to attain it. Gameplay got stale for me after 8 or so hours and the environments were small and uninteresting. The humor was show offy in a "aren't we clever" way.

Yeah same for me...it was the writing and quest structure. Person A: "Hey do this for me and I'll give you want you want for your quest...go see person B and do "this". Person B: "Hey do this for me and I'll give you want you want for your quest...go see person C". and so on.

I enjoyed the first one, I never did complete all the DLC so I will probably get it.

I thought I was the only person who liked The Outer Worlds. Everyone I've ever mentioned it to was indifferent at best. So it's nice to see that not only are there some others that thought it was good, but enough for it to be worth a sequel.

I liked outer worlds, but after avowed I don't care about a sequel. Maybe if reputable sources say it is good after release.

I liked the first one, but it always felt a little bit one-note. Like the developers brainstormed the whole corporate joke humor and figured that could carry the whole game. It was funny initially, but after 4-5 hours I was hoping for something more. It got to the point where I was blazing through conversations and barely even listening/reading. Luckily, the gameplay was solid enough to keep me going.
I'm definitely down for more content in that universe, but they need to round out the characters and the game's personality a bit more. The Spacer's Choice jingle isn't enough to keep me coming back for 20-30 hours.

The Outer Worlds is on game pass rn and planning on playing it.. it seems like a game I would like.. sorta new vegas but in space I guess... and nv is my favorite fallout so should be fun and this is decent timing.. Is it still June 8th release date?

There is no confirmed date yet. June 8th is when the Xbox showcase happens. Hopefully, we'll get the release date then.

This is really how i felt too. Like I enjoyed it but as I played the joy waned and eventually just stopped coming back and isn't very memorable at this point to me. Game play was fun just seemed a little uninteresting of a story. Maybe i should try again sometime.

Ah ok.. Thanks for the info.. I have plenty of other games for now... and I am just getting into TOW now.. so this should wet my appetite of the followup installment.

I loved the first game as I am such a big fan of pulp sci-fi aesthetics, but I am the only one who notices a lot of... Unreal.. micro stuttering in this demo?

It drove me insane. I'm sure it won't be that bad at release. This video has the typical slow-panning of prerelease videos to not make the stutter look as bad as it really is.
