Whatever happened to the wildwest warp? Its not there anymore, and boating is a pain because people been building on the water without entry ways for boats.

You non boating bastards! Curse you!

Also, mind providing links to that Texture pack and water shader? I would absolutely love to get my hands on that.

farwest was my warp , i removed it cause no one was going there anymore!

And then I recreated it as "Wild West"... but then removed it to create another warp. Which I then deleted as well..... haha.

I'll recreate it the next time I play. But if I don't see any new buildings going up, or being finished, then I'll remove it again as well. For now.

I'm gonna build a moat around Failhenge, maybe!

That's one idea I've been considering, not sure if I can make it work though, I may have to move Failhenge, but that's no biggie. My skybox overlooks Failhenge at the moment, and I think that's pretty cool.

Also if you have been to my new glass skybox, you can see I did away with the glass structure underneath and merely made it a big ass extension of the upper level of my glass castle.

I have also discovered my true destiny

to build a UFO above my land, that actually turns out to be a giant strip of bacon.

Does not look like 1.8 will be released this week. I'm ok with it cause I'd rather have a seemingly bug-free release rather than a bugridden one.
 
I'm gonna build more glass structure, and I'm talking with gooch3008 about building a bridge between my property and his in the sky, so it'll be like a man made glass skyway connecting our structures, and we can visit each other without teleporting and enjoying the scenery.

I think that's an ambitious project!

What do you guys think?

I've built stuff like that and it's fun. Just remember the crouch key! Even crouching I'm sure you'll fall a few times at least so be sure to travel light.
 
Can I claim any other land in the world map or do I have to stick to what I have? I have my seaside villa, and I'm thinking I STILL want to claim land in the frozen wastes, I'd like to have 2 different kinds of locales to build on, would that be ok or is it against the rules?

I'm also thinking of blowing the glass roof off of my skybox and expanding it further, building it higher, I might just build the largest skyway on the server, connecting me to all land masses.

Unfortunately that will take an ungodly amount of sand and i'd need like 100 furnaces burning day and night to get this done. I think I'm going to build a floor entirely of furnaces and harvest all the sand and coal I can find and then pop them all into the furnaces.
 
Fail you need a lava furnace. Check with one of the guys on there for instructions or if I have time later I'll help. I think I have all the obsidian you'd need.

I have a lava furnace :), built one last night with help from Slacker7

go to my home, go down to the first floor, it's over in the corner at the far end, and btw Oldie, you have access to my big chest by the door, i set it so myself, you, and gooch3008 can access it, i have some stuff inside it.

If there's open land, anyone can claim it. Just try to be respectful of other peoples builds. Don't build too close to others. There's a lot of underground structures too, so check cave mode in the dynamic map to see if there's anything below your prospective build site.

Also, there's a bout a million skyways/walkways/hallways... so please reconsider building another ;)

As Oldie points out, build a lava furnace! I have one at my /home you can investigate. Just head to the right wall after warping and go into the room labeled "The Forge". You can't miss it. FYI; you don't need obsidian blocks to place. You can also make the obsidian in place with some lava and water.
 
Well that's helpful, I found a bunch of diamonds yesterday, I think 20ish, and I went through like 4 Diamond Pickaxes yesterday.

I DO want to go through with my skyway though, it'll be all glass, and provide a panoramic view of the scenery between my location and gooch3008, I haven't looked at the map since Saturday so I think he's like directly across the water from me, and so is NKDietrich.

I will look at the map for a suitable place to claim in the north when I get home tonight.

I really have liked my time playing with the game so far, you guys are all really nice and always ready to help out.

Aaah okay, it sounded like you meant to make a skyway across the entire world! What you described sounds great to me! Have fun exploring and building new builds!
 
I use http://www.minecraftskins.com/ for skins. But I don't like to play with texture packs... so I don't really know where to find them.

Though I'm going to give that water shader a try tonight (if I can get the time to login)
 
I sent Oldie a PM, and he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

You know that picture he posted just a few posts above of his water project? I told him he should make a water ride out of it which takes you from the top all the way to his mine entrance.

He could make the water ride work so that several people could enter the water ride from different entrances at the top and then ride all the way to the bottom, like at a water amusement park.

Mods = Single player only; alter gameplay in some way (there are online mods also, but you have to host your own server to install them).
Texture packs = Change all or some of the textures in the game such as the dirt block, wood, cobblestone, etc.
Skins = Change the way your player looks.

Pretty much all of the Minecraft textures are here, at the Minecraft forums. To install texture packs, just follow the instructions given by the specific texture pack you download; all of them on Minecraft forums should come with instructions. If you're not installing a high definition texture, all you should have to do is copy and paste the compressed texture pack to the folder "%appdata%/.minecraft/texturepacks" and select the texture pack that you want to use in the textures and mods options in Minecraft. If you are installing a high definition texture pack, you'll have to install the HD texture fix patch, which is listed in the url above.

Skins can be gotten from a number of places; I usually just do a google search for "minecraft skins" when I feel like changing mine. To change your skin, all you have to do is download the skin that you want, log into the minecraft.net webpage, go to your profile, upload the skin, and save your preferences.

I don't know how many other sites do this, but I know for the site I linked to above, they had the ability at one point to set your skin for you, directly from their site. So long as you were already logged into minecraft.net.

Not sure if that still works or not though...
 
man, make your own skin. I did. It's REALLY easy!
Takes all of 5 minutes in paint.

Shoot tell me what you want and I'll make it for you.
