The Official Core 2 OverClocking Database *READ 1st Post for Instructions*

While that OC is indeed impressive...

1.536v on a Wolfdale? Isn't that a bit over the top for these 45nm jobs? Even with the custom chiller/zalman block...

yeah its high. But I have done a lot of checking on it and as long as it is kept cool it should be ok and last a year or 2.

I usually run it at 4.4 ghz at 1.385 v I just wanted to see how high I could go and keep it stable.

I want to submit my second rig - Primed it overnight
Anyway, components like this Asus Rampage x48, Xeon X3350, Tuniq Tower, and Crucial 1066 Ram make this an easy
no sweat overclock. Next I'll OC the RAM

Why does my computer keep crashing :confused::confused::confused:

notice the graph of core1 and core2 and see the VERY brief moment it peaked at 90%~ well it hadn't even gotten to full load before it errored

I hope I got all the right info, and did everything right heh. I was sitting at 3GHz for a few months on my Q6600 and finally decided to get it up to 3.4GHz which is where I'm going to stay now. This system was my first build ever, and these past few months have been just the beginning of my OCing :)

So what's the best Quad right now for overclocking, and is under $300?

Is there a quad coming impending that should be excellent for overclocking at attractive prices?

***how do i get a picture to be decent size w/o paying photobucket $? never used to be like that. :(

P45 seems to rawk with this proc. I will try and see if I can squeeze more out of her. I know I can do better with some tweaking, this is just the initial effort.

Wow and I will be the fastest 9450 on [H]ard! lol awesome.

hey Dark, try and lower the vcore a bit, that is kind of high for a 45nm quad. Though it is a nice overclock overall.

Yea... I am very confused about the whole vcore on 45nm quads. Seems some people think 1.4 is absolute max, but people with decent overclocks seem to be at 1.4 and above.... Any idea where everyone gets that 1.4 is max on a quad? Seems strange that a dual core should take *MORE* voltage than a quad...

Been wondering quite a bit about this, funny I was thinking of it right before I came onto hard :D

thanks though, will keep trying to tweak this thing to get it at lower volts.

Thanks for the entries.. got my DELL 3007WFP-HC in, DAMAGED!! damn usps! I am comparing this to my Apple Cinema.. and my apple has better colors.. the whites on this 3007wfp-hc is very red and the anti glare coating is very thick and annoying :( Thanks for the entries!

I have a Samsung 305T, this 30 inch is killer on movies Icant say enough how i love it, games a re great too. maybe a little tweaking on the calibration software may improve it further.

Yup fragman, I just ordered couple minutes ago on tigerdirect.com a Samsung 305T, gonna try that 30" out, this will be my third 30" to try and hopefully itll be awesome! :)

UPDATE

Added: aZn_plyR (very nice oc of E7200 TOP!!!, bios is wrong? 6.0 might be the bios name, assumed rated speed was 6400 aka 800ghz), Elios (nice oc of E7200 low cpu volts, entry is black since week and bios is unknown and NO SCREENSHOT OR PROOF OF OC! will delete soon if no proof), samsonJS (TOP Q9450!!! good job! nice ram ;) ), pcgeek1973 (TOP E8500!! wow high mghz!! assumed your board is just the Asus P5Q), FragMan (Good OC of X3350, nice mobo ;)), Syribo (good oc of Q6600, nice low voltage), wadec22 (good oc of Q6600, week you put LV20?? I assumed it was L720 pls confirm this), TheDarkTao (nice oc of Q9450, almost to first place! please add week and code for green entry not black)

nm found it its Q811
BIOS is 0806

yea the clock speed is wrong there for some resion it donesnt like the 9x and thinks its still 9.5 but checking with a real time clock like CPUz shows 3.6

Holy God this thread still lives!

I am amazed and proud that this thread is still going strong, but I'm still gald I passed it on to
videomasterz.

Congrats!

It's on the retail box.

If you got an OEM, you're screwed. Dis-assembly required.

Heh, guess I'm screwed lol...I bought my cpu when they were short in supply, and it was literally the last one from Tiger Direct. I have been thinking about doing the washer mod to the TRUE, so maybe I will get it...if I'm not too lazy lol

thanks mentok1982!!! glad to take over the database, been alot of hardwork.. but its for the [H] community of overclockers :D

The work is very much appreciated and I understand where you're coming from...I used to run a few database threads on [H] a few years back and it was always a good time knowing that I was helping out my fellow members. :)

If I would just get off my lazy butt, I'd have my E7200 up there. I run it at 3.4 constantly, and it will do 3.8 just fine, although my cooling is weak. I have better cooling, just too lazy to install it.

I'll post my e8400 soon but it's a vcore hog so I can't clock it very high. The database is so useful for purchasing decisions & seeing what can be expected from various chips. Thanks to mentok1982 for starting it and videomasterz (again :) for maintaining it.

Very nice thread I agree, extremely useful and fun for many users.

I'll be adding results from my E8400 once I get it on the weekend and have my Shuttle up and running in a week or two.
