The Lian Li PC-700 Thread :-)

I saw someone over at OCN that had the same issue. It could fit one 7970 but not two of them.
Another reason why I'm waiting for the V750.

I'm the guy from OCN. There's a lot of the answers in the thread I linked from the previous page, but to summarize:

H100 does not fit, no way, no how. The Gene V has a high placed 8 Pin, which it interferes with, same with all ASUS P67/Z68/Z77 boards. Others, like GB/MSI/ASRock all have fitment issues as well, generally the MOSFET gets in the way.

You can't fit the H100 on the front either, unless you are okay with nothing in the drive bay. But then, you're going to have issues with getting decent airflow to it as well as an okay place to mount it. Adding some sheet aluminum would be required.

Two long video cards will have clearance issues with the PSU depending on where your PCI-E slots are located.

*edit*

Also, where the hell is the V750. I've resorted to cutting up my 600T because I couldn't wait any longer.

The V750 isn't even listed on their website yet. There is a PARTIAL page you can find via google but nothing like any of their available cases and you can't even see it listed using the search on the Lian Li page.

Don't hold your breath for the V750, they've shown tons of cases before that evaporate after that....

This is the main importer of Lian Li cases in the USA and they are the ones that provide the cases to Newegg and everyone else...

Holy crap. They're fairly close to where I live. Going to contact them to see if they have any X900's laying around

The V750 has already been released in South Asia and Australia.
When Lian Li creates the overview/feature page for it on their site, then you'll know it has arrived in the US.

Wow, didn't know it had been released somewhere already. I'd wanted to get one but didn't have my hopes up. Very odd its not listed on their worldwide site yet.

There's a member on VR-Zone that has them. Australia, Singapore, New Zealand and the Philippines usually have stuff like cases early.

Talking about marking up prices. I'm hoping that it is under $300 when it hits Newegg.

Building the rig from the ground up with the Lian Li PC-V750WX. I hope it comes out soon. Bought my Intel 3770K Ivy Bridge CPU, and six GT AP-15 fans plus a Corsair H80 CPU Cooler. Trying to locate a Asus DirectCU2 GTX 670 Top Edition GPU. Waiting for Asus to release that ROG Maximus V Formula, picked up an Asus dual band N router, gunning for that Asus ROG Phoebus sound card. It's an Asus heavy build, that's for sure!! They should sponsor me ;)

Currently I think the PC-V750 is the best choice for me overall, but I wish the HD cages didn't block the intake fans. I was a big supporter of cases that had direct fan cooling without HD cages in the way:

I miss the Silverstone FT02, but I find Lian Li just builds em better anyway. The FT02 build quality was just not on the level of the PC-900/PC-2000F, and I ran into lots of production defects. Only 2 out of 5 FT02s I ordered in were acceptable to me. Plus the FT02 was too heavy and had a terrible HD Caddy design. But I loved this case anyway, it was a joy to cable up, it had great filters, great fans with lots of cooling, the unibody was solid and sexy and lifted the case up, it was a looker, great stuff. But I would not buy it over a well designed Lian Li today.

I miss the Lian Li PC-X900 quite a bit, it was nearly perfect with all 120mm fan support, but it had a sad lack of cable room and you can't buy it anymore. I'd slum it with the cables if I could find it and if the V750 was not coming out.

The Lian Li PC-X2000F fixed the cable room issues, added hot swap bays, and added E-ATX support, had the best fan filter setup ever made, but also added a fatal flaw of a fragile disc drive cage that if bent, ruins the case - speaking from personal experience. And all 8 of those disc drive covers on the PC-X2000F liked to rattle from day one. The lack of a 120mm support (even on the exhaust) was annoying, I had to use bulky 120mm to 140mm adapters everywhere to use my GT AP-15 fans. The fan adapters worked well enough but were a con non the less. Can't knock the exceptional build quality elsewhere though - the best I've ever seen.

I would kill for an updated PC-X900 - improve the cable paths opportunities, add an inch behind the mobo, add the hot swap bays from the X2000F and V750, add E-ATX support, keep the all 120mm fan support. It would be epic, I would sell The V750 in an instant.

I researched all week, still no better case for me than the PC-V750WX. I might reverse mount an aftermarket window, so that it's mounted from the inside.

Can i ask why you're so addament about using 120mm AP-15's? Their great for use on dense heatsinks and rads due to their static pressure no doubt but there are better options for case fans where the airflow is unrestricted.

I could probably start looking for a good 140 mm fan it's just hard to trust them as the reviews are confusing and sparse can you recommend any? The only thing I know is you can't go wrong with the GT fans.

I liked the NoiseBlocker 140mm 1700rpm fan. Used them for a X1000 and 800D.

Yea I like those too. But I like the GTs a bit more. Might use the Noiseblockers if I go for the Lian Li B10FN instead of the V750. The B10FN is nicely updated and features a split dual removable HD cage, very friendly towards long GPUs, and it's a more silent case to boot.

This should be my last post, I'm using the name NeoDiNardo from now on.

Ok, artist formally known as SylarPowers here. For those that care. Done with the SylarPowers nick.

If you want top quality window, something like this wins (molded panel, no screws, no glue):

Where is this panel from?!?! I must know!!!

Not sure I'm going to go with the V750, but it's not off my short list. A few other Lian Li cases look good too. And my last one, the X2000F was close to perfection. I may of been overly harsh on it before. Can't deny it's unique and useful form factor, its positive pressure unrestricted cooling, and awesome filter system. It may be worth a second go at it.

Stuck between these cases:

1. V750

Pros: Smaller, all 120mm fans, plenty of build room, latest design, *some* hot swap bays, all black interior.

Cons: H80 in push pull may block the back top 120mm fan a bit, hard to access fan filters, no room in the ceiling to comfortably do H100 (despite having the perfect fan array on the ceiling panel), window too big (non window lacks back interior), lacks positive pressure - is negetive pressure, side door latching pegs can break, intakes have to draw air threw the front wall grill and push threw restricted HD cages.

2. X2000F

Pros: Unique and usefull form factor (tall but not deep, easy to place and carry, not too big, not too small, slimming with plenty of size to build), superb fan filter system, all HD bays are hot swap, all black interior, noise reduction foam, no window to crack or break, plenty of room for GPUs and E-ATX Mobos, plenty of cable room, positive pressure, stylish design, can drop in Blu-Rays at standing hight, top notch cooling with triple intakes with a short air flow direct cooling path, unrestricted intake cooling (not even grills near the fans), premium metal latch side door design, extra thick side door panels.

Cons: Rear exhaust is 140mm (this one should be 120mm for the popular H80 style CPU cooler support - can be fixed via adapter, so can the other fans), drive cage can rattle (needs some screws drilled in to secure the 7 remaining drive bay covers against vibration), drive cage is bendable with a small amout of effort and will throw off drive bay cover/disc drive fit (my uncle fell on my first one, I was able to get another for $80 but I had to beg Lian Li), front door latching pegs can break, front door telescoping plastic LED piece can break (and did on my last one), most expensive case and perhaps a bit overpriced.

3. P80N

Pros: Great triple fan cooling with about equal intake and exhaust pressure, same great fan filter system as the X2000F, stylish, the best lian li cable management system with real grommets, plenty of room to build, the fan array door is kinda cool on paper, looks to be the most sturdy desgin between the three.

Cons: Top panel peg latch can break, have to open front door to access the disc drive, no black interior offered, top 2x140 exhaust array is not H100 compatable or rad friendly, intake fans have to pull air threw a grill then have to push air threw a grill, old fashioned side panel thumbscrews to secure side panels. Big case.

Not sure what I want, each case has its perks and detractions, but I am leaning towards another X2000F purchase.

Well if they are updating the X2000F, I'll do the V750 until it comes out if need be. Easy decision now. I wonder what Silverstone has cooking.

took it with a thin fan to a local store to see if the H100 will fit but they were out of stock, I'll go for a 3 weeks trip so I wont be able to finish it but when I return I'll check the H100 in that store , if it wont fit I think I'll get the H60 and mount it on top.

nice case, cable management with my current PSU will be a pain and I noticed the 8 pin cable maybe a little short.

thought using my friends mobile will give better results than my 6 years old mobile but I guess I was wrong

edit: @michalius: is the H100 exactly 2.7cm thick?

Yeah, it is.

You'll get better performance from an H80 with good fans than you would an H100 with thin crap fans. Heck, H60 would probably do better.

The V750 will be $320-$350 and will be here in about a week. Hell I may get it of I can't wait for the X2000FN.
