Didnt factor in the import tax, with 17.5% on top thats not looking like such a sweet deal. Will have to see what graeme at Kustompcs can do, for the guy that ordered and had it lost, have you tried kustompcs? They seem generally more affable than leftclicks.

Really? They used to use socket head cap screw + nut to hold the aquaero in the drivebay. This is a great improvement that I wish i had...

Me thinks you have too much free time

Why don't you ask some retailer to get you the new style frame as a special order and just move your electronics into them? Yeah, I suppose I do have a lot of time. When I go back to saving lives I won't have any time to rant and rave ;) However, I should point out that a couple of years ago I bought a German astronomical positioning system accurate to a few arc seconds and do you know what the first thing I did with it when it got delivered? Yep, I pulled it completely apart to check it out

R1ckCa1n that is a sweet lookin' block bro. What do your temps look like? I wonder how it compares to the Cuplex Pro?

Shoggy do you know if there are any comparisons between the XT and the Pro? I wonder if AC has released a block to Watercoolplanet.de for comparison testing?

I'm looking for a reason to swap out my Pro for the XT if you can't tell. I'm challenged by the old "If it ain't broke...don't fix it" cliché.

I think that there will be some reviews coming down the line from some of the big name English testing sites soon. Just as soon as Sharka gets more of them in that is...as the first shipment was sold out! If A-C does their part then there should be about 20 of the XT's arriving here in about 7-10 days. I'm hoping for a complete Aquaero, Aquastream, Aquatube, and Cuplex XT review :D

BTW, looks alone should get you interested in this sweet thing. But since there are only a couple of designs like this on the market I think we can draw some inferences that it will probably run in the same ball park as the Little River G4 or Alphacool NexXxoS XP coolers .

I am trying to set up the aquastream and aquatube in the aquabay like this: http://www.aqua-computer-systeme.de/cgi-bin/YaBB/YaBB.pl?board=7;action=display;num=1114366901

But with 10mm barbs, not plug and cools. Was wondering if it would fit?

Also I heard somewhere the Airplex rads need to be flushed before you use them the first time, is this true?

Did you DL the catalogs? If so you should be able to see that anything is possible. As far as any cooling loops go I always flush the system well with H20 for a few days to get out any contaminants from manufacturing. Then I dump the H20 and sometimes the tubing as well if it was especially dirty.

A few more updates.... Getting the pump/res configuration finalized, now it's time to get this thing mounted.

Question to you Arquero owners.... Is there a line to line example of how you wire the aquastream and controller to the aquero? I'd like pics if possible.

I will try and post pics, but what are you looking for. How the 10 pin connector goes to the aquastream controller to the aquaero. Pump power cord goes into aquastream controller ( only one way ) and DO NOT plug power to both the controller and aquaero.

Also why did you use stand off's on the aquabay for the pump ?

I used the stand offs so the aqua jet and a 90 degree elbow would work. I have everything back together and working, but the Aquero isn't reporting to the software.... I connected the USB cable to the motherboard but no worky worky.....

Also, is there anyway to change the language to English without the software? I can't tell if the RPM's are reporting to the Aqueros. It looks like it is not.

What kind of motherboard do you have ? MSI SLI boards and some others have issues with there onboard power headers {USB} I had to make a USB cable that ran from the back of the motherboard then into the case to the aquaero. Also some motherboards will not work if there is two grounds on the usb cable let me know.

The USB problems were my not reading the manual. On almost every computer component, pin1 is + where pin1 on the Aquero USB is GND. Flipped the connector and it now works great.

Now if I would have known that there is no English version today (or at least that is not what I got), I would not have bought it as I have no idea what the hell I am looking at. There has to be a way to change what information it scrolls, the speed, naming the sensors and fans, but with it in German I AM SCREWED. I was reading in the AC forum that this is a known problem and "should" be fixed soon??..?

Maybe someone here has a copy of an English 3.99 Aquero that I can flash.....

I have a 3.99 but you can flash it from the site, download the update and from the software (aquaero USB ) flash the aquaero. It will ask you what language you want then your good to go.

Heres something from Chris at AC

to change the language of the firmware you'll have to do the following steps:

1. Start the PC-Software
2. Select the right language in the PC-Software
3. Flash the aquaero with the newest firmware.

You'll be asked by the PC-Software if you want to include the language in the firmware of the aquaero. Answer YES. It will take a few minutes to include the language and you'll see the progress in the Status-Bar.

Hmmmm.. I was at AC's site all day and get a 404 error when going to the software page. Does anyone have a copy of the firmware? Here is my error right with the firmware on the CD.

Uhh...did you peruse the links I gave you? I believe that if you set the software to read in English then you can get the Aquaero to boot then in English on the display, yes/no?

Did you try looking at the German language manual about language?

I went through all your links with no answer, other than "WAIT FOR THE NEW SOFTWARE" which was scheduled to release last year. Since I have no idea how to program this thing in german, it is useless to me. Sure does scroll through stuff nicely, too bad I can't read it.

You can set the software to English but that does nothing to the VFD......

R1ckCa1n what is your flow rate with your set up? Using the Aquastream and Aquajet (I think that is what it is called?) Do you get the "nice" wave effect against the front of the Aquatube?

Top Nurse bought the only flow meter so I have no idea. I can tell you that compared to the old configuration (MCP600, Cuplex Pro, Cuplex NB, Cuplex GPU, EVO 240 in one loop) it way less. The new configuration is AquaStream --> EVO240 --> Cuplex XT --> Cuplex GPU --> AC hard drive cooler --> Cuplex NB. Overall I added more blocks, and less powerfull pump, and only gained 2c on the CPU after 4 hours of running.

OT: I just flashed to the new beta firmware for the GSM Treo 650 and it Rox harder now!! :D

Here are some pics of it up and running. I can't find my LED for the aquatube so that will have to wait. Need to spend some time hiding more wires and finding a hard drive rack, but at least it boots!

Now if I can get the freaking Aquero working right, I will be golden.

I won't be using my flow meter for a while so you can order me a replacement from Wes as he has about 5-10 of them coming in. PM me your phone number and I can arrange for you to have it tommorrow as I'm going to HB sometime during the day.

I also sent a PM to Shoggy to ask him to stop by. It's about 0700 Sunday morning there so don't expect to hear from him for a while ;)

Slightly OT: I do know that Wes put in a rather large order of Aqua Computer products today and expects to to do a wire transfer Monday so the next shipment will be here in about 7-10 days which works for me. :) I do know that he ordered some Aquadrives in case anyone is interested. :D

Top Nurse - Were those extra tops for the XT in the picture you posted a couple of pages back? If so, what color were they? I am going with the green theme in my case and that would be awesome if it came with a green (vs. blue) top.

R1ckCa1n - Beta firmware...didn't know bout' that. Thanks for the tip. Nice setup btw!

The tops are clear tops, but still looked damn good!

You know that beta firmware has enabled my Treo to run for over two days without a lockup or reset. That is a record! I also gained 2.5mb of memory and the speaker volume is much better.

I hope someone from the AC forum stops by and gives a link to firmware that allows english since it is not on the website today.

How about just getting brushed aluminum plates for your Aquaero and Aquabay AT that matches your Lian-Li? I think those will be in the next shipment as well. I've got one of the black aluminum ones for the Aquabay here and they are very nice and match my V2000B nicely.

The part numbers you would want are 53040 for the Aquaero and 93101 for the Aquabay AT

I think Modsquad might have an English firmware as I seem to recall seeing his Aquaero with an "English" sticker on it?

Any AC Aquaero shipped to the States should have that tag. If you "flash" check the details or learn to speak/read German..

Yeah, I'm jealous of your artistic abilities! Mine suxz except in the language and electro-mechanical arts. :(

I sure hope that someone didn't ship the wrong boxes from A-C! I thought that the version 4 hardware had at least English and German languages installed in the firmware. Unfortunately you need to understand German to get it to change :( That was why I thought my previous post might help as "Sprache" in German = "Language" in English.

Over on the A-C forum I was given a link to help in translating by some of the Germans helping out. Here it is http://dict.leo.org/?lang=en&lp=ende

They are clear plexi. I suppose I could let you have one for what I paid for it. I think there is a dye or paint that can be used on plexi to give it the tint you want, but I think it would have to be on the surface that isn't touching the water. The tops are thick enough that it would be no problem to drill a hole or two in the side to fit in a "green" LED as well.

I originally bought them to experiment with to see if I could retap them for G 1/4 threads. That isn't a problem, but then to make it all work I would have to open up the nickel plated middle block and possibly the jets as well. I don't think it would be worth the trouble.

"Firmware 3.23A" (ALPHA-TESTVERSION) seems to be the "one"..for our VFDs..Don't flash if you don't see a problem. Just like a MB, if it's not broke-don't fit it..

Is that the firmware revision in your Aquaero with the "English" sticker? Where can we get that software version?

If that is the case this gets to be a sticky wicket as the software will not let you upload a revision with a lower number. The only possible way out of this ***might*** be to reset the firmware per the instructions in the English Aquaero manual. But Ithink I would rather wait till I hear from someone at A-C or till I can gab with Franz at IT-Trade Sunday night. I Do know that if you hold the reset button down too long it will wipe the prom completely and then it is a trip to Germany :(

There is a way to flash a lower version but I don't need to tell you how to do this because that may kill your aquaero. The only firmware that can be used with a aquaero 4.0 is firmware 3.99. To change the language you need this firmware but it isn't downloadable. I sent a message to Sebastian. Maybe he could upload it.

And get your fingers off the reset-function. It won't help you in any way and the risk to kill your eeprom is too high.

Thank you for all your help, but the message seems to be this 3.99 Aquero never should have shipped. The bottom line on all posted related to our (I say that because you will experience this soon) problem is we have to wait for the proper 4.0x firmware to match the 4.00 hardware. From what I have gathered, this firmware has been promised since January and as yet to appear. My goal for today will be to figure out how to change the text color! ;)

The translation you gave is for the software, which does switch to English. It is the Aquero itself that will not go to English without a new firmware.

On a side note, you can't overclock your AquaStream with this version of Aquero either as it only holds the settings for a few minutes/hours.......

I wish I was in a position to capitolize on your offer for the XT top now. I think I am going to get an XT as soon as I can. :p

What version of the Aquero do you have. I believe I have the same one as MS and it is a Aquero VFD v3.07. It came with the 3.10 firmware. I believe what you and R1ckCa1n have are different/newer?

Pics for comparison below.
WavyB-Day017.jpg

The shipping units are labeled as v3.99d, and this is were the problem is.

I don't know if it is me but even the menu isn't working like the installation manual states. I can hit the "set/mode" but it does not access the menu system. I have to hold the set/mode button down for three seconds and then it races through the menu choices. Anyone else notice this with the display? Also, I can not find the menu selection to change the text color. There is no talk of it on the manual nor could I find a menu selection that said "colur" or whatever.

Nice pics man, sorry about your aquaero but i only have had to flash one and the other i sent to AC where they did it for me when i had one DOA. I used some standoffs on my last case also just did it to hide wires though, i didn't see it in the pics but do you have a flow meter, if so did you drill it out and what is the flow rate.

Also in the aqaero USB software " sprache go to english " did you try this? that way you can make your adjustments there instead of on the panel

Anyone got a picture of the black Aquatube?
Would it look better than the silver?
thanks

Good news for Aquaero v4 owners. I have talked to Sebastian a few minutes ago and he is pretty sure that the 4.0 firmware will be ready for download at the end of the next week.

R1ckCa1n, you can't change the color of the display. You will have to use foils. Here is an example with a blue foil:

I have attached it with some sticky tape on the back of the front plate:
