No.. not the oldies...

to the heat...

Currently it is ~105 or so outside

My windows face west, so i get ALL the warmth of the day...

A/C currently set for 60 (wont go no lower) and its still about
85 inside... at least it isnt humid...

but does that mean im going to pansy out and turn my farm off

[H]ell NO. :D

Yep, glad I'm in the basement.

I was out on a roof today, working on stuff. It was definitely 120 up there. At least I got done quicker than usual ;)

We've finally got a break in the Denver/Boulder area... Been raining since last night, and temps really cooled off. Feels like paradise... :D

Just had to pull out my digi thermometer... just to check.

83' inside.. with a/c on full tilt.

I am afraid to check the temp on the stack.. my main rig is

53 cpu / 31 case.. (Degrees C)

47-48 is normal for the cpu ~28 for case

It's hot in Texas!
....but It's smooth sailing at my house. On Sunday, I installed a powered attic ventilation system, cleaned the outside ac unit and changed the filters. That worked a miracle! I set my thermostat at 75 and its nice and cool all day. :p

I'm working on the attic ventiliation thing at my house, but I really don't want to go up there 'till it cools down. Currently it's probably at an easy 140F. Hooray for tile roofs

at work last night it was a ripe 92 degrees in the trucks. i hope i dont pass out chuckin dell computers and parts on the belt.

on another note, i figured out why Staples always has damaged boxes. They use bottom clasp boxes which are good for storage but not shipping. Every Staples box I pulled off the truck last night was damaged. Someone got a broken Logitech rollerball. Sorry.

wow!!!!!!

its hotter in DC than it is in SW Texas...amazing, though the only other place that got hotter than TX was AZ.

Guess I should stop throwing those super fireball moves at you...you're hot enough w/o my help. :D

It was a nice and cool 94 degrees here today. Much nicer than the 105 or so it has been lately. It has dropped down to about 87 right now since it looks like some rain is finally moving in. Looking to be close to 60 tonight, high of around 78 tomorrow and around 55 tomorrow night. If it's not humid I'm opening up the windows in my apartment finally. Damn thing needs to air out really bad.

lol!! Freakin hilarious!!! I'm making that my desktop.

Haha, it has been staying in the upper 70's to mid 80's here lately. I guess that's why it costs so much to live around here...but yay for the ocean!

go back to whatever hole you were lurking in ;)

Yeah the midwest is finally getting a break this week, not supposed to get up in the 90's again for the rest of the week, bout freaking time!

98 (in the "shade" - on our front porch) this afternoon. this is not what i call "fun" weather... winter FTW.

that pic is awesome:D
i'm invincible!

I wonder how Greenland or Siberia is this time of the year.

As Molotov Cocktease of Venture Brothers fame would say, "It's always cold in Siberia."...so I guess just Greenland then...

Well, being stuck in Washington (Tacoma) is better than being stuck in Washington (DC) this time of year. We hit the mid 80's but it's going to cool off :)

If it gets much more humid over here (and I can't fathom how that COULD happen), we'll need scuba gear to get to the freakin' cars. Dayum, it's NASTY out there, and this basement isn't cutting it any longer for cool. Ground temp is above 77F, basement is only semi-buried, and you gave up caring at "Dayum", didn't ya? :)

105+ for heat index, "unacceptable" air quality, Come On Thursday and the Canadian Front, we need a break! K*, it ain't much better this side of the 'Bay...

About the same here, even too hot to go out and have a smoke at work...very sad and hot and wet........ :( ;)

well i live in southern california, we freak out when the weather gets above 75 or below 65 ;)

By the time i woke up this morning (i dont think the a/c ever shut off) (still set at 60..)

it finally got down to around 70'F in the apartment...

It's currently 63 degrees here; nice and cool. The high is supposed to get around 78 today. Talk about a nice break from the 105 degree days we have been getting lately. Should save me some money on my electric bill also. I guess that doesn't really matter since my machines are at a friend's house, but at least they will be running cooler there since his window A/C unit won't be fighting as much to cool the whole house.

Forcast for today.. brought to you by AccuWeather.com

High: 98° F
RealFeel®: 110° F

We've got a nice cool forcast for the next few days in Detroit.... looking forward to it.
I have a few boxen to get running and I've been struggling at the edge of my homes power limits.
My main home rig keeps getting shut down by popped breakers so I finally bought a UPS.... and then the weather breaks. Oh well... it's like washing your car. As soon as I do it the rain comes.

It gets that hot in DC???? I would hate to live in Pheonix right now, now that is hot...But here in good ole Texas it ranges from 97-105°F. Not including the heat index..

I have the same luck.. sadly no car here..

or i would be washing the thing every damn day :D

its too friggin hot out there.

meaning it gets too warm inside.. poor boxen.

so long as my a/c doesnt choke and die.. i should still go home to
happy computers and a living dog.

Here is a little tip. On the rooms that face the sun alot, you should try a ReflectiveWindow Film. My parents put these on my brother's windows to help with the heat. They probably dropped the temp by a few degrees. It's still pretty warm in there from his computer though.

I would, but i would need a crapload of it :p and since im renting..

I just have to keep the shades drawn all the time

Thankfully I am spared from the sun beating on my apartment, it faces north-northeast and trees block any sunlight in the morning. Also being on the first floor, the cool air flows down from the apartment above which is a good thing. Now the leaky window I have, that could cause some problems... I don't think any of my boxen like water. :D

You should work out a ducting system to vent the exhaust fans out of the window.

I can't believe it's hotter there than here in H-town. We hardly ever get above the mid to high 90s, but the humidity is an absolute killer. The heat index is total bullshit, because I find 115F in AZ much more comfortable than 95F with 1902831902% humidity that we have. Nothing is worse than being in front of a fan that is blowing hot air in your face trying to cool down.

I'm getting close to finding out how well machines will react to our heat. I get free power in my garage I just got along with my new apartment. As soon as I get a wifi signal out there, I'll see how well computers react with 80% or higher humidity in a 100+F garage. :D

I would. but i dont really have a window perse.. just a large sliding glass door :p

Accuweather says 109 w/ 117 Feel here today. My grass is like 10 feet high but damned if I am gonna cut it in this heat.
