thankfully i got out of all the different MMPORGS i used to play.. that sucked away so much time..

Well thankfully they aren't stealing any cycles either now! :p

that was mostly before i folded :p

back even before f@h was out..

damn ultima online :D

im freezin in this apartment but i know as soon as i step outside im gonna pass out. anyone got some spinach so i can build up my iron before i go outside? send it through my IP address. Dont worry. I left a hole in my firewall for it.

i'm still in the MMORPG phase (well, sorta. if guild wars counts than i am, otherwise just "online gaming")

this is late cause i was off installing blackboards:

REAL men know extreme G sucks, and are waiting for 802.16 (not the "new generation" crap sold now... it won't be compatible with the new stuff, and yeah. that does it)

REAL men have CAT5/5E/6 running through their a/c ducts cause extreme G is still slower than 100mbit unless you're right next to the access point

REAL men don't say things like "REAL men do this"... wait... ignore this one;)
i'm invincible!

haha. :)

a/c ducts? trying to keep your cat cool?

it's a convenient place to bring wires through without drilling holes.... works well with the drop ceiling we have in the basement.

i have my boxen in front of the vent anyways :p

Hopefully you are running plenum or never have a fire. :)

I prefer wired solutions myself, but wifi works fine for folding boxen. It's not like they are sucking down a lot of bandwidth.

Real men don't wait to buy stuff... they buy what's best now knowing that he may have to upgrade everything later... but he may also get run down by a bus tomorrow so why wait. :)

really we just use the vent holes, not the ducts themselves... run the wire along through the drop ceiling, then use tinsnips (hehe) to make a hole for the wire to come out through the vent. it has worked thus far - since the days when we ran thin net... i remember that one - just not too fondly. i also remember trying to use the 'T' piece to run a wire off, rather than running a loop to a computer... hint: it doesn't work :p

i don't have a need for wifi (no laptops yet) but i do want to get the new one (and a laptop) i just don't know if i'll still be living here when it comes out :p

i also don't have enough money to buy stuff  and i can get wired a lot cheaper than wifi.

coming home to a pile of molten silicon just doesn't have the same appeal as coming home to the hum of a roomful of boxen... so yeah, i hope your a/c is working too.

neighbors wouldn't like that much (and i don't expect you would either :p)

dead animals smell bad. (cutting/melting silicon does too, if you didn't know already)

Hahaha. Thinnet, I remember that crap. Terminators, T pieces, that ugly, thick coax, and any problems and the whole network is down. Thank god for Cat5.

How did this thread get this off topic anyways? Wasn't it about the heat that K* was experiencing in his apartment?

things always go offtopic.

hopefully with the 110 heat, and finally getting the apartment down to ~70'f this morning.. it wont be too bad when i get home tonight
- Fold [H]ard - - Or go [H]ome -

air conditioning combats heat, and the ethernet i have run takes advantage of the air conditioning system we have, and i ran thin net the same way, so in a twisted, convoluted way, we are still on topic.

i think.

Well I am currently waiting for the heat to kill the grass under the plastic in my yard for the [H] logo I have sitting out there. Well it may be dead now but I ain't goin out there to check. and I was gonna do [H]folding but it was just too damn hot

wow you like have nothing better to do.

well since he will have to mow it down later anyways :)

*shrugs*

in the genmay forum there is a dare thread going and someone (half-assed) burned a [H] into their yard.

but a really awseome [H] would be worth a frontpage [H] sighting!

It is worth the 15$ :)

or the 5$ for one year...

can be another bday present from the bf

well I just looked and the plastic moved too much so I went back to teh cardboard templates I used to make teh plastic ones. May take a little longer but I WILL have a [H] lawn before the day is done

hardlawn.jpg

Nope only about 4' tall but that was all the plastic I had so I had to make do :)

Yes you can but I hope you get straighter lines than I could with cardboard :) And when it is done killing the grass I will post a pic with a Dollar bill so you can see scale ;)
