Lie, mother of lie, statistic. Millenials get a fragmented POS of an offering -> millenials 'prefer' multiple large payments for content instead of one small one.
Must be different where you live, because my multiple streaming services combined cost less than half of the price of cable in my area.

No idea where you live that it works out like that. Personally, I am paying a truck load less than (over 75% less) and getting far more useful content than I had before.

"I don't know what happened, Maybell. There used to be an AMC right next to the empty JC Penny's."

Wow you must have an extremely costly cable sub then. For me if I subscribe to 3 services it's already as much as the cable was, only with the invonvenience of having to jump between services to get the content. Also much of the content is not legally available so your only option is to pirate or use VPN to mask the location.

Indeed. My streaming services are about $7.99 a pop, and I have three - my cheapest cable TV option is $80.

For me Netflix 4k alone costs 16 bucks a month and I paid 55 eur/month for 3 satellite channel packages. I quit the satellite service when they started placing ads on the paid channels. Talk about a ripoff.

We grew up with our parents complaining about $150 cable bills with hundreds of channels, yet we found nothing good to watch.

Interestingly enough I grew up without cable and only had it a couple of years while in college because it was included with my rent. Currently I have Amazon simply because it came with prime and we watch the in-laws Netflix account some. Otherwise I simply don't care enough to actually want anything else.

Cable has always been about how many channels we have ....woooooo...150...60 of which are music and another 20 junk sales channels. then we have 30 that appeal to about 1% of the people but they are a cheap package so we have them...when you cut it all down about 10 channels people want or even care to checking the listings..for the LOW price of $80.. and they pay the local gov to make sure of competition...on and on since the 70's

Then we have netflix, hulu...netflix is so into themselves they raise rates for the same thing. Post about all the B movies they have and don't get me wrong there are some good ones.
A big payment for 4K,,wait the NEW lost in space, produced by you isn't in 4k...

Hulu is corporate studios that have most of the tv series and want to put ads into a paid service. I tried their free service and i thought it was a joke, this series had 9 seasons they offerered season 2-6, oh you want the others that cost more.
Now they are trying something new $40 a month for their super streaming. Streaming what, most of that stuff you can get ota.
if you don't want hulu with this streaming service its $32 a month.

It all boils down to how much you can get for how little.

this study proves only one thing..there is NO ONE SOURCE. Its spread out to make sure you pay more, while you are left trying and hoping to get to see something.
no one has everything, no one ever will. And when you get right down to it, when I talk to my friends, none of them are even talking the show that premires tonight, they can get that ota.
All they are wanting is OLD shows and movies that were hits last year or later. They want good, they want to see what suits them and it won't ever be in one place.

I find it hard to believe a millenial would sign up for any service since its all run by faciast republicans.

If you just get basic cable which has nothing it is like $30. After you add local channels $5, $10 for each box rental, $10 is you want HD, $10 for each box for DVR. Have to pay more for the box also if you get DVR. That is before any premium channels and packages of channels you want. It adds up quick. My cable bill with internet was about $200 a month before I cut the cord years ago.

The REAL funny part is you can do hulu+netflix+prime for significantly less than the price of cable.

I got cable 2 yrs ago when at&t the only other internet provier in town was charging $54 for 18mb service and they sent me a notice saying it was going to $59.
Cable at the time was 75mb and digital starter for $89. Now I get 175mb and the price hasn't changed.
The digital starter has HD channels and all of the channels I want...you know 120 channels and I watch maybe 10. LOL
But it beats the BS that at&t was pulling at the time.
ps the only reason I get it for $89 is because I am using windows media center. Their DVR is $30 a month (what a fucking rip) and each tv is $8 for a basic box.

ROTFLMAO

Statistics, I love em, because I can present them to support whatever the hell I want!

VERY TRUE M76

you know if they did this they also have the numbers for all other age ranges.
wonder why they don't post them all and let us see what is really going on.

And all the baby boomers are selfish arses who took advantage of social programs, cheap housing and free university education before pulling the ladder up after them.

Look, I can make sweeping character judgements about huge numbers of people because it fits my own outlook on the world as well!

But seriously, over-fragmentation of streaming services is just going to make it inconvenient enough for torrents to be a viable option again. Or Millennialorants as I like to call them because they're so indicative of the behaviour of about a billion people.
