Starcraft II

I like the idea. Have reapers move like regular marines and upgrade for jetpacks.

Reapers are already pretty useless after several nerfs. No need to make cliff jumping an upgrade. Who would bother getting reapers if this was the case?

And no I dont play terran, at all

Think that one through first Sonic. Rax + Reactor + your suggestion = bad guys coming at you in even bigger numbers and quicker :D

How do i edit my control groups? Last night i accidentally put roaches and drones into the same control group which messed me up for a short time.

He's talking about instead of the nerfs, not on top of them.

Shift + Click units to add / remove them from a group that you have selected.

Or if you have say 8 roaches and accidentally added 20 drones to it... you can either:
1) Control + Click all the roaches and regroup all the roaches
2) Control + Shift + Click on the drone icons in the bottom panel and it will remove all the drones from your selection, then regroup your roaches

What if reaper functionality was changed instead of build time nerfs.

Change the base jumping to an ability with cool down, maybe 10-20 seconds. Give it a 1-3 seconds charge time before jumping where the reaper has to be stationary. And a ~3-5 seconds movement penalty after jumping (maybe with an attack speed penalty too). Basically if you scout them, then they are easily killed and can't run.

Decrease building and unit attack range to 4. Maybe lower speed slightly.

Change armor type to armored with no armor bonus (like void rays).

Maybe give queens a ranged ground attack (same as air attack), possibly as a queen evolution research upgrade.

Maybe give the Protoss nexus a power field, but sized only enough to warp in 4 units, no buildings.

Not if there is a requirement to train them, like a factory. If you lose to that alone, you deserved to lose to it.

team liquid is a good site for starcraft info. check out the sc2 strategy portion of the forum if you're looking to improve.

Select went on an insane run at MLG DC. He lost and went into the lower bracket and then fought his way through 9 best-of-3's all the way back to the final. Beastly to be able to play all those games without passing out from exhaustion.

gsl season2 started already in case anyone hasn't heard they changed time slots, now going to be airing 2 sets daily at 13:00 kst (9pm pst/12am east) and 19:00 kst (3am pst/6am est).

check gomtv.net for stream subs or daily/vod passes, there will be plenty of live restreams on jtv/livestream/ustream too, teamliquid should have featured channels as well.

How the hell does this game judge what league u should be on

I play with a friend and we r stuck on 1st place in Silver for like a month... in spite winning 80%+ of the matches (that includes several enemy favored and slightly favored)

I uploaded MLG DC VODs to demonoid. im going to be trying to get some more tourneys so go get them and keep an eye on demonoid for future ones

I know we've talked about it before, but is anyone interested in doing a for-fun [H] SCII tourney? We could probably get some front page exposure if we get enough people signed up.

You need to be beating gold or platinum players consistently to advance to another league. From my own studies it takes about 23-24 games including placements for the first advancement, meaning the fastest way to get into diamond is about 24 games.

After the 24 games every 3-4 games is another chance for promotion.

It seems to me that you guys are probably only beating silver players on a consistent basis and not enough gold or platinum.

You also need to be consistently beating players in your own league. If you're going 50/50 against your own league you probably aren't going to get promoted.

Anyone else playing in the Collegiate Star League? The first match is this Saturday.

My roommate and I just signed up for our school's team. Good thing too... prior to us joining, there were no diamond players signed up at all. My roommate is of course, 2000 rated, so I think all of us are hoping he auto-wins his matchup and then wins the ace match for us :p

^Didn't know there is such a thing. Pretty cool. I'm out of school, so I'm not sure I can sign up anymore, but looked it up, and it doesn't look half bad for my team. Most players are diamond players, and this guy is the leader. First match against Yale in a few days.

Anyone have a U2711 or 27" equivalent that is running this game at 2560x1440? I took the plunge and ordered me a U2711.

Makes sense, BoxeR doesn't have as much experience as Cool does in SC2. Plus, he's past his prime.

BoxeR actually showed a hell of a lot of improvement over those early replays of him in SC2. He put up way more fight than a lot of other supposedly better current SC2 players did against Fruit Dealer in GSL Season 1.

His biggest issues in the second game were scouting, map control, and just some decision making and timing problems. He let Fruit Dealer essentially have most of the map to himself.

He was 2 basing against FD's 4, and he was still holding his own. That says a lot for his micro.

But he failed to scout FD's gold expansion (that came a mere 8ish minutes into the game) until way, way late, did almost no harassment after the early game, and then overextended after a successful attack. He was still in the game until he tried to siege all his tanks when they were right on top of a group of roaches. If he'd just let them blast away in normal mode and backed off he could have saved most of them and stayed in the game. Possibly even forced his way up and taken his second expo. Instead he threw those units away.

Was all downhill from there. But he really did have a solid shot at winning that game.

Amazing game from Fruit Dealer as always. It's very possible they could meet up again in the later rounds of the GSL. I expect even closer games if BoxeR continues to improve at the same rate.

It's almost like sports athletes... once you get into your 30's ...

But yea I agree about the second game being amazing on BoxeR's part considering Fruitdealer literally had that gold for the majority of the game. BoxeR should have realized there was 1 unaccounted drone (from the cancelled hatch) and scouted better. I've actually won several games against pylon blockins by cancelling my natural and taking a high yield without my opponent realizing. But damn this is BoxeR, he should know better. Also, I was curious why he never sieged up at the bottom xel'naga tower. It's virtually perfectly safe and you can hit the drone line from there with a siege tank (this is the main reason zergs never take high yield on metalopolis).

I think the first game BoxeR simply went in with the wrong mindset teching to thors early since I think he assumed mutalisk play. Siege tanks would have secured the xel'naga tower and eventually the gold in between the bases. He also got a bit unlucky with the reaper bunker at the start. Right as the bunker died, the reaper was immediately surrounded. Perhaps if he let the reaper out early it would have gotten away and done more harassment.

Nice, but we need more users active on ladder. Maybe forum vs forum would be kinda cool?
Hard vs ARS vs Toms vs XBIT?

Forum vs Forum would be pretty fun..

But first we'd need to get a team together.. so that would mean we need an SC II Tourney anyhow! :p

I'm up for a team play :D I'm not much of 1v1 player, but I'm having a blast playing 3v3 and 4v4. Still, if you guys want to do an [H] tourney, sign me up.

Nexgenius takes it... winning 4 games in a row against Loner.

GRR I hate how marauders own protoss so easily ><
It's ironic considering Loner made mass marauder the last game and lost.

Too many people complain instead of playing. PLAY the game. Marauders are fine, protoss can beat it if they play smarter.
