Starcraft II

Is there any one Zerg tactic that's nailing you? As Zerg, I generally have issues with mobile Terrans, but a vast majority of those I play are turtlers or too passive/defensive. I'd practice with ya, SPARTANVI and my code is 921

Any and all of them except early pools that cause them to actually be behind economically. Those I can crush with a simple 3 rax MMM build. My new build looks to be strong against a FE Zerg, but again still a bit early to say that as I haven't used it much. Fast muta is what really fucks me up. No matter what I do I lose to fast muta.

My brain just can't get around fighting Zerg. Don't understand why. No matter how many replays I watch or shoutcasts with TvZ I watch I just don't get it. Terran is said to be OP but I just don't see it.

I play Terran online because it's really the only class I know. I still get pwned. Who said they were over powered?

i liked terran the way they were.. i play as random mostly but i enjoy terran the most generally speaking.

Build a few missile turrets, get maybe 1 thor out and some marines.

There's no composition that terran makes that's 'bad' against zerg. The only thing you can do is overmake one type of unit (too many marines against banelings, too much marauders / tanks against mutas etc.)

As a zerg player nothing discourages me more from making mutas than missile turrets. Mutas are a poor investment in a straight up fight so the zerg player has to decide when to stop making mutas and try to transition into something else. Fast muta almost always means 1 base muta. Even 1 base muta gets about 5 mutas at the 7:00-7:30 mark. That's not 'fast' by any means. You can easily scout it (fast lair, no expansion, two gas, etc.) and prepare for it. Just as a comparison, void rays are out by 5:00 as well as banshees if someone goes 'fast' rays / banshees. If the zerg actually expanded and THEN gets mutas, it's going to be even more delayed. The ball is really in your court. If you leave him alone, then you can't expect to control the game.

The biggest advantage terran has against zerg isn't sitting in base and turtling. As a zerg player, the BEST thing for me is for my opponent to ignore me for 10+ minutes. That's literally a god send as I macro up. If you harass early and often it really throws the zerg off even if all the zerg did was make a bunch of lings / roaches and stop making drones.

Sort of an anecdote, but my roommate is 1000+ in 1v1 diamond as protoss. He challenged me to a 1v1 with me as Terran and him as Zerg... the game ended in 7 minutes when all his drones were dead from hellions and drop harassment. He was surprised how difficult it was to manage zerg and how easy it was for a terran to abuse so many different harassment methods.

I'll keep that all in mind. There's just something about Zerg that throws me off. Not sure what it is. Thus why I'll probably take Spartan up on his practice offer just so that I can get myself over the hump and actually start wanting to play TvZ matches.

I have a guest pass. I prefer zerg to other races... maybe I can practice with you.

I love how you can conclusively prove a cheater via replay and player camera view. It becomes so blatantly obvious that your jaw drops.

I have got to say the Bnet ranking system is absolutely horrid. I'm a silver ranked player and it teams me up with people who bought the game last night. Gonna brush up on my 1v1's, team mates are unreliable.

what do u guys do as protoss when the zerg fast expands? goin for zealot push doesnt work for me.

Depends on the unit mix he's going for. On a map like Lost Temple I'll typically pop a couple sentries and expand as well. Scout him and try using the time he's giving you to figure out what will work best to break him.

Depends on what he does. I typically start 2 gate as protoss vs. zerg.

If you have a proxy pylon you can push him really hard from 2 gates with just zealots. Basically will force him to either give up the expo or go heavy roach.

At which point it might not be a bad idea to get out a couple void rays.

That guy is horrible though...

Yea he's horrible and he's on the blizzard top 200 list.

A zealot push usually denies at least the expansion. Most top players usually fast expand themselves with forge and gateway depending on the map (if the expansion is blockable, then forge / gateway FE is safe from zergling harass... if the expansion is open, then it's trickier).

Most of it is going to come down to micro from both players as you fight over that expansion. Another option is to just pump zealot sentry stalker from 3-4 gateways and push out when your warpgate tech finishes. Make a proxy pylon and attack early.

Ideally the zerg wants to saturate both bases ASAP when he has his expansion down. If he has to make lings / roachs / spine crawlers, it will slow him down a lot. If he doesn't make defense then he'll simply die to your push.

What kind of cheats are there now ? (Not asking how to cheat)
Last night i had a wierd match, in a 2v2 with my friend we both pushed with marines, 10 total early to a protoss (both were)
We got a couple of probes, he only had 2 spiders and 2 zealots
Literally 30 seconds later they rush with around 15 spiders and 10 zealots each

Didn't bother to watch replay, but i thought it was kind of strage ... im only on silver, so most probable we suck and got against plat or better (im 5 on gold 2vs2 random)

Most common is a map hack removing the fog of war.

yeah i did that a few times in RoC just for phunz.. hehe :D Man I wanna play TFT, but everyone is playing SC2 so I have to play that now.

I used to say basically the same thing when I'd watch porn. "If I want a story, I will go to the library." I finally learned though, sometimes it's nice to feel emotionally connected to a person lying face first in a pool of jizz; It can really pull at the heartstrings.

What I'm saying is, these scenes can add to the experience of playing a video game and I welcome them for that.

One of the best arguments I've read in quite a while.

Dang, I wouldn't mind playing a drop hacker haha.

I think he means the hack allows you to drop your opponent, so you get a win, if you use it.

The map hack basically completely removes fog, even on the mini-map.

You can easily find people demoing the actual hacks. And uhhh the hacks themselves aren't exactly hard to find, but I won't go into that, so don't feel shocked if it is pretty common. I mean it is kind of like CS, because the game is so popular, the hacking aspect is relatively popular and accessible as well to anyone without any computer knowledge even.

Overall I don't really care about winning or losing, so it doesn't bother me as much, I just enjoy the aspect of actually playing the game.

I mean honestly to me there doesn't seem a point. If you are actually racking up wins in any context where people would care, then you are probably under very high scrutiny so these aren't usable. I mean otherwise yea you are winning more if you are winning regularly, but does anyone care? lol...

Why do people hack?

1) Because it gets you lai...d... wait, no.
2) Because it looks good on your resum..e... hold on. That's not it either.
3) Because it makes your father prou...d... crap that can't be it.
4) Because people are wee-taa-did.

I was just heading out the door to class and it looked like my brother came across someone who was using the fog of war hack. Gonna review the video to see if it is true. Too bad your profile isn't linked to a server like WOW but then again, I wouldn't want to pay to play a RTS.

I like to hide a stargate or 2 and make phoenixes to pick off all of his drones/queens/overlords which makes the double hatch nearly useless.

After doing that, make a quick transition to zealot/stalker/sentry

Try rethinking your 2 gate, if it's steppes of war it should always work decently.

9 pylon, chornoboost 2 probes at 10, 12 gate, chrono boost 2 more probes, 14 gate, probe on 15, first zealot comes out on 16, when your pylon finishes, keep making probes and chrono boost both gateways for two zealots and go. Set your rally points to their base, try expanding early too, I often expand then go double gas into cybernetics core, then i get 4 warpgates up and start getting zealot/stalker. If there's roaches coming out chrono boost 2 stalkers asap, you should be able to kite them with your range of 6.
