Sleeping Dogs is an AMD sponsored game??...there's something you don't see much these days...Nvidia probably didn't want the game lol

Nvidia probably said "fuck it, let AMD pay for this one...we sponsor every other game".

Its not like AMD is competent of including anything proprietary into a game anyways...from what I've read AMD drivers are problematic with this game just like every other game on launch. So pretty much nothing changed except this one was made on AMD's dime not nvidia's.

I hope so. I've been digging a little bit of PoE, but lately something about the viewing angle is starting to annoy me. I wish the camera was a little dynamic, or at least some way to change the angle...

Oops.... we have derailed pretty far.
Still digging the jump-to-car, hijack-car. That is so cool :)

That is what I am thinking. Some GTA-style stuff going on but feels much more like Just Cause with a badass, Hong Kong action movie thrown in for good measure.

FINALLY got this working, for some reason the game doesn't play well with oc'd cards. I turned my clocks to default clocks and it works now.

Is there any way to change controls for thing snot listed? Like using the phone? Does anyone who makes ported games even play on a pc? With your hand using w/s/a/d and the other on ht emouse NO ONE uses arrow keys anymore, having to take your hand off the mouse or w/s/a/d is annoying.

Why can you not use the mouse cursor for wardrobe changing and things as well? MAkes no sense cept for a console port.

Because it is a console port

They got most things right aside from that and some camera nonsense. Much better than the half-assed last minute types we normally get.
 
I'm going to wait to pick this up...seems like a decent game but if they are set on releasing a bunch of DLC over the next few months then I'd rather wait for the Deluxe edition during Steam's Winter sale
 
It's $45 if I recall on greenmangaming, and you can find a recent coupon code online (forget the site, did it yesterday however...) to bring it down to $36 total. Quite a steal at that price I'd say.

I think so, this weekend most likely (have a long weekend starting tomorrow, until Wednesdays). Will get some play time on my back log at least, and this.
 
Is this available in a physical package to purchase off a store shelf? Reason I ask is because I live in a area where broadband isn't available outside of satellite internet. If all else fails, I guess I could haul my PC to the college and use their bandwidth to download the game ....

can someone help me out? for some reason when trying to pick a lock combination on a box i cannot jump to the next digit that needs to be unlocked; nothing seems to be working. there is what looks like an xbox 360 start button icon in the middle of the combo too.

lol it's an arrow, you have to go clockwise , then counter clockwise, then clockwise again, like a real safe.

In anticipation of the European launch of Sleeping Dogs and in response to some of the feedback generated by the PC gamers on the forum we’ve prepared a patch that aims to improve some PC-specific features as well as fix some bugs that have been reported by the community. • Fixed several bugs where NPCs would not path through doors properly – this corrects the issue where Naz stops running in the first mission of the game
• Added HD Textures for UI screens (only available with the free HD Texture Pack DLC installed)
• Improvements made to reduce the frequency of erroneous “don’t lose your target” warnings in missions where you are chasing an NPC
• Significant improvements to mouse support on various options screens
• New Keyboard/Mouse option which makes the keyboard & mouse the only input devices even if a controller is connected

• Fixed an issue where mouse clicks would sometimes be ignored in the UI
• Fixed the keyboard and mouse camera controls in the Phone Tracing minigame

They have thrown several patches at FS since it came out. I'll give them that.

My friend has had it since it came out and, amazingly, hasn't had a problem yet. Go figure.

The problem is: The game itself just isn't that good. It could have been. I saw potential. Too bad.



Sleeping Dogs kicks ass. Very impressive support there.

The camera/mouse control: If you're driving in the game and using KBM take your hand off the mouse. The camera tracks nicely on its own. It helps. :) I use a light touch with the mouse and have a "feel" for this thing but hopefully they'll address it at some point. I'd say it's looking promising. :)

Future soldier is garbage, a lackluster port stuck in 720p, nothing like the videos or screenshots we saw. It looks like a recycled PS2 game. Awful.

Yup, it had a few things in it that I liked but overall it's best forgotten.
 
Just got another 9.2 mb update.....no news on patch notes.

Edit: definitely upgraded to build 1.4, but is not immediately apparent what was actually addressed.

The 360 uses the right stick for the camera. It's just as annoying and I had to teach myself not to touch it while driving.
 
Woot, at first it wanted 1,5 GB patch... then I went to download the high res textures, and it's 3,7 GB patch. Funny, all the downloads are now bigger then the game itself :)
 
Everything maxed on the game its beating my 690 into the ground. I have the latest nvidia profile so it is utilizing both GPU's but only at 60 to 65 percent usually. Getting anywhere from 35 to 45 fps only at 1920x1200 on a 24 inch monitor. Also have some weird resolution bug where it thinks its full screen but its over lapping on to my second monitor and i can move my mouse into windows and back into the game like its windowed. even though the game is set to full screen. This game unoptimized for PC? or is it that good looking. I've played but a few minutes of the intro so far.

It was optimized for amd, performance should be better after some driver updates.
 
Some random thoughts here:

- I actually like the way you can't keep stolen cars. I think GTA should do that. Make your money actually mean something. They should make it that if you're in a stolen vehicle and cop comes behind you, you may get lit up (lights/sirens).

- The bike helmet out of the ass thing is funny.

- The girlfriends .. wtf? Lol. *spoiler alert* I just stalked Tiffany and caught her with another man. *I* didn't even know we were in a relationship. I did one date with Amanda, one with Not Ping, and one with Tiffany. To my knowledge, that isn't a committed relationship.

What a great game. There's always something new and different to do. VERY happy with it.
