Dang this thing is loud at idle. Bought the noiseblocker fan and will be doing the mod in the next week or two.

The popular NoiseBlocker fan mod will probably not help all that much if you think the stock fan is loud, I'm afraid. All 80mm fans are loud (when spun fast enough to provide decent air flow). Slims with 15mm depth are even worse.
I have this psu, version 2.0 (which has an improved fan curve for lower idle noise), and I also find it very noisy at idle, so I'm getting rid of the stock fan (and the grille) and will be mounting a good quality 120mm fan on the outside with an adapter. That should do the trick.
