Here's mine gotta love the old school dell's...getting a new desk soon

Desktop1.jpg

those were/are beautiful. what resolution is your desktop?

they both run 2048x1536 so that's a 4096x1536 but since my old system got fried im stuck at running the right one at 1800x1440.

P.S. Wahur1 I'm sorry i posted in the wrong thread i saw other crt's in here so i figured it was cool...

My brand new Samsung T260. Loving it except for one dead/stuck pixel. Tried to fix it but couldn't. The touch sensitive power button is kind of hard to turn off and on with. It only seems to work with my entire thumb print touching the sensitive area. Got my x360 hooked up to it. Works beautifully. I was delighted that my center speaker fits well on top of the monitor.

What refresh rate do those do at 2048*1536? I tried running my IBM P275 at that res, bt 75Hz was just too flickery for my eyes. 1600*1200"100hz is mighty nice, but you've inspired me to move up to at least 1920*1440 (the only reason I haven't already is because I'll have to change all the DPI settings because all the font becomes too small to read!).

well i was running them at 75Hz but i didn't run them lower or higher until my old system blew up now i have to run this one at 75Hz but will try when i build me up a new system.

I am a fellow owner of the B&W 683s myself.. running them with an onkyo 805, I have the 685s in the rear and the htm61 center though.. nice speakers you have there, what sub are you using?

LOL! i forgot to tell about the mouse. funny thing there, im right handed but i play guitar left handed and shoot a gun left handed. i do everything else right handed though...

as for the B&W speakers i find it awesome that you know what they are. i figured someone would ask. they are amazing are they not ?! the best speakers avaliable period as far as im concerned. or brand should i say.

im using a sunfire subwoofer. its a beast. 2,700 watts with an active and passive woofer. i gave $2,000 for it new.

I had one of the Dell 21 P1130 CRT's a couple of years ago. The picture quality was stunning and playing counter strike on it was a pleasure.

jdbrown, what desk r u using there?

its a desk i purchased from office dept. i have switched desks with my wife. i need to take some updated pics. her desk we purchased from office depot to. its all a brown wood. pretty nice though, gave about $450 for it.

if you have not read in the 30' monitor topic...my samsung 305t in the pictures went out. im sending it back to samsung to get a full refund. im now looking to buy a new monitor. when i do im thinking about putting my pc back on the desk in the picture and then mounting the lcd i buy on the wall. i think that would look pretty sweet and i would be able to see it nicely.

I just got 3x25.5" Samsungs and i have my 61" dlp hooked up right next to them.....

I will take some snapshots of this setup, now i need to find buyers for my 2x 22"ers

7680x1200 is insanity.....But good insanity.

How well does that webcam work on that LCD monitor?? Is it something similar to what they put on their laptops??

I've been a lurker here for some time, this however is my first post. There are some nice setups in this thread. Here are a couple pictures of mine:

The center monitor is Gateway's 30" XHD3000. The system on the left uses its smaller brother the 24" FHD2400. The main rig is in my sig, the secondary machine is an older 939 socket setup. I'll try and get some better / additional pictures up later.

The system is not done yet, but most of it is there. These were during system build:

Thank you. The latest build represents about five months of over-time, a tax return and a whole lot of obcessing. :p

I'm giving vertical monitors a whirl...unfortunately xrandr and xorg won't let me have 1 be normal and one vertical, I'd have to use them as 2 separate desktops that way instead of 1 big desktop. :/ oh well lol

oh and I just realized this is going to be a huge pain in the ass with my other computers...:(

Got a new desk today, an Ikea Galant setup. Got it put together and things back up and running a bit ago so here's an updated pic. It's 3 Dell 3007's.

man that's a lot of screen estate. What do you use it for?

pr0n? Just kidding. I've got 1 box connected to 2 of them and 1 to the other. All the space makes administering/monitoring all my servers at work from home quick and easy.

I am just 1 monitor AWAY from achieving the same setup as yours... Hopefully, that day will come soon.. :)

The problem is finding a desk to hold them all nicely. This Ikea Galant is working out quite while though.

Another similarity we have is that our desk is the same..:)

Yes, I too have a GALLANT series from IKEA..:)

As you can see from that picture, I had added 2 extension to make the table even longer..

Did you add any extension to it??

how do you like that keyboard and mouse. i have the same ones if you seen in my pics. they are pretty nice are they not.

really what i want to know is..are those dell monitors 30 inch and how do you like them. do you game..? if you havent seen me posting about that. im looking to buy a new monitor because my Samsung 305t went out and im in the middle of getting a refund. also that desk is awesome. im going to look it up now.

i just found this. it looks ideal for me. i think im going to invest in this as soon as i can. the desk i have now is ok but this more to my taste and has more room. cant believe i never found this before....

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S29807035

sorry for all the questions but how do you like your IKEA desk. how is the quality, and its it very sturdy. does it feel flimsy at all. the desk i have now i bought from office depot. it looks cool and ive been asked a bunch of times where i got it. i only paid about $120 for it and its OK. it is strong enough to hold everything but its not really want i wanted and i dont like cleaning the glass off.

i really like that IKEA i posted the link to. i want to mount whatever LCD i get on the wall and then i would also have all the room to do things and the part or the desk to put my arm on when using the mouse...huge plus to me

haha thats what i was thinking....but then we gave $1,500 for our enterainment center. its a salamander designs. top of the line if you ask me.

they makes some really awesome products. i can add doors, sides, shelves...you name it.
its very sturdy also. holding our 60' plasma, center speaker, blue-ray dvd player, ps3, reciever, Direct TV HD reciever, etc.

Do you by any chance have a back shoot picture of your setup?? I wanted to see how it was overall. The way my room is setup, I think I might look into getting the same desk setup. How much did that set you back??
