szero what desk is that me likes :)
I'm honestly not quite sure. I think I got it from Officemax a few years ago. Pretty sure it's discontinued since I haven't seen it on their site since. I don't like it because it's way too small and doesn't have any practical drawers or shelves. But it keeps me on top of my junk. I have to throw stuff out all the time ;).

this my desk now but i want one like the one you got with a roomie top since im making QPack rig and ill have it ontop.

So there is my setup for all the world to see. In the center is a nice new Dell 2405 24" Widescreen Display, 1920x1080. You see, I heard rumors on the Internets that rosewood didn't like widescreen. I think we can put those rumors to rest. They are flanked by two Dell 2001FP 20.1" 1600x1200 displays. Up and to the left of these beauties is a Dell 1905FP 19" 1280x1024 display. All four of those monitors are hooked up via DVI. The monitor on the upper right is a Dell 1704FPV 17" 1280x1024 display hooked up to my server currently. Under all of that is a Dell Axim x50v running at 640x480.

In the video you also will see the wife's Dell 1704FPV as well as her Dell Inspiron 9300 with a 17" UXGA Widescreen display.

For those curious about the hardware, along with the 2405, some new pieces and parts also came from such vendors as Newegg.com and Monarch Computer Systems today. Inside of a sexy Lian Li PC-V1000B is an AMD X2 4200+ sitting on an MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum with 2 gigs o' ram. The video card is just an XFX Geforce 7800GT as well as two SAPPHIRE RADEON 7000s to give the extra DVI ports that I need. Other notable additions include a pair of 320GB 7200RPM Sata drives from WD, the ones with the 5yr coverage, two 250GB 7200RPM Sata WD Drives, one 200GB 7200RPM EIDE WD Drive, one NEC 3500 & one NEC 3540A for optical drive action and of course those Logitech Z-680 speakers that everyone hates how I have positioned.

What do I use all this shit for? I run my own small business consulting / networking business. I go out to small (more specifically micro, as in < 10 people) businesses and help them get shit done and continue to get shit done. So this means I spend a LOT of time on the phone every day, a lot of time VPNing into remote systems, taking notes, sending emails and IMs, reading a lot of crap on that old web, browsing the MS newsgroups, downloading porn, and playing games when its time to blow of steam. I have also gotten in the hobby of digital video (really new at that obviously) and digital photography. All of this means I use all of those displays damn near all the time. With no real TV in the house (no cable, just the COX HSI for internet), that Dell 2405 is now the main display for the wife and I to play Dreamcast (a.k.a. NES emulation), Xbox, watch movies or stuff that I have Tivo'd. The Axim just keeps me on task during the day and reminds me to stop with the F5 and get out and earn some fucking money.

I will totally admit this is an e-penis post to the nth degree. However, I worked my ASS off for this rig (and rigs if you count the A64 server, the A64 box for my wife, the laptops, etc.) and I wanted to share my setup and this thread looks like it was made for that.

Also, for the record, I could hook up two more monitors via DSUB15 but not on this desk :)

nice setup...don't you get a neck cramp from looking up at those small monitors?
The one on the right is a 19" and 1280x1024 and is really easy to read.

The 17" on the server rarely gets used, just when I need to do some server work and don't feel like opening another RDP session (which is what I normally do).

If someone would just introduce a dual DVI PCIE or PCI card, I would be in heaven and would have it also hooked up to the main rig.

Rosewood...... eaither that's a cheap audio recorder on that camcorder/camear...... or that subwoofer is horrible!

All I hear were two notes drowing out all the rest of the music................ ~_~

Reminds me of some of the poor people in the city with their cheap subs in their car.

Well, now I need an aspirin to stop the headake.

Ever think of turning your speakers down when playing it back?! Playing it back on my Z680s (which does have a sub that produces a fair amount of bass) it sounds pretty close to what I hear when I play the original track which is Juno Reactor & Don Davis Mona Lisa Overdrive from Matrix Reloaded. It is a pretty bass heavy track to begin with.

Also, the camcorder is a Canon Optura 400 which isn't too damn shabby for a consumer DV cam. Yea, I just used the built in mic but wtf do you expect? Oh ... oh I get it. I see through the jealousy now. Tis cool...

^_^

Ohhhhhh, don't take it personal....... your not a bad person just because I got a headake from the bass.......

Just poking fun at you.

Just out of curiosity......... would you beg to wager that it would have been more offensive to call me a manly girl? After all, I may just be a little lady.

and where did you get that wallpaper, the one on your 24" screen?

Donkey Konga is a Gamecube game where you bang the bongos in time with music. Not really my thing though. :/

Ugh - didn't realize. Im used to forums where we can mark things so you know whats up. As for the youngin factor ...keep them off the internet.

Anyways, Im not one to piss on rules too much so I went ahead and edited out the offending link.

dual (or more) monitors for everyday usage? wow you guys have money to blow

i wish i didnt have college to pay for otherwise I'd grab at least another 17" LCD (710T) to match my current LCD for the damn webdesign I do. I hate shifting through Firefox, IE, cuteftp, email, dreamweaver, photoshop, and imageready all the time

cheers to the guys who use more than one monitor for CAD, webdesign and other useful paid jobs :)

Seriously...Why do so many of you have surround sound setups with the all 5 speakers in front of you? Defeats the purpose....

What is "everyday" usage? I thought we were on a hard forum?! If all one uses his or her computer for is web browsing + email then ... wtf is s/he doing here?!

I too would like to know the answer to this riddle...whats the point? for that buy a THX 2.1 setup. :D

Just got my new rig up and running so I thought I'd post a couple of pics of the setup. They are Viewsonic VP171b LCD's. I went from dual 19" CRT's and I must say that overall I am very happy. Just wish I could of afforded the 19" versions because I do miss the size for gaming.
