Triple Samsung S27A850D :)

That's a lot of screen real estate. How do you like them so far?
I'm still getting used to it, the pixel density difference is very intense coming from a 25" 1080p screen. It was a bit of a shock at first and I was kinda unsure if I made the right choice, but now it's really starting to kick in. At this point it's starting to get good :) I have two 23" 1080p screens at work and it feels cramped after spending the weekend at home.

I'm waiting for the GPU market to release 6 GB cards from both sides and then I want to get a new computer so that I can play games in 7680x1440. I'm telling you right now, I can't fucking wait!!!

How are the S27A850D's for backlight bleed? I've heard some troubling reports.

There's backlight bleed, but it's not that bad if you're sitting in front of the screen. I knew about it before I bought it and doesn't really bother me. If this sort of thing bothers you, don't buy them. I only see the bleed when the screen is black anyway. It looks a lot like normal LCD backlighting, only it's uneven.

You may be in for a wait my friend but I hear where you're coming from. Curious how much did those monitors run you for?

$2,520 CAD tax in, shipped.

Yikes! What kind of panels do those have? 120Hz capable?

I have a triple 25" setup and it's already at the limits of my peripheral vision. I can't imagine what triple 27" would be like.

Incidentally my three HP 25" monitors + 2 monitor arms cost $731.85 CAD altogether after shipping & taxes so people can have Eyefinity at an affordable cost as well.

^ Jetfire, what keyboard are you using? I'd like to find a decent USB midi capable controller that has some decent weighted keys. You look like you are into music production and know your stuff. I'd like a good controller to use with Reason 5. LOL, I have the same wallpapers, both the city one and the one with the white hexagon pedastals... It's really hard to find some decent triple monitor ones.

My S27A750s in Landscape

My S27A750s rotated in portrait (I still have to adjust them but you get the picture)

Im running one 7970 with settings on medium & high and I average 60-80fps! The awesome thing about portrait & BF3 is you can go window mode and create whatever aspect ratio you want. Landscape mode wastes so many pixels on the end monitors, but portrait mode allows me to maximize pixel real estate!

How do you create whatever FOV that you want? FOV is still controlled in the options menu and maxes out at 90 no? I can play in Window mode in landscape as well and change the window sizes but my FOV doesn't really change IIRC.

Super PLS, 60 Hz.

I'm glad that I went with 27" WQHD. This is definitely as big as anyone in their right mind should go for triple landscape screens. It's big and the straight line distance from left to right display border is 68", but God damn it's awesome.

I had a 25" 1080p screen before my current setup. The pixel pitch was nice for watching movies 4 ft away, but I found it too big for a PC monitor.

Nice arms... and that surface looks way better. I love big corner desks. I ended up boxing a whole corner off more or less by facing my corner desk outward which gives a lot more room and in my case keeps all room lighting behind the backs of the monitors. I'm thinking about mounting my network hardware on the wall eventually but what you did looks like it works too.
.
Are you going to do eyefinity with those three monitors? -- just checked your old link.. what a makeover! lol.. nice work.

No Eyefinity for me...not at the moment anyway. The third monitor is only a 22" and is currently used for my 2nd PC/server.

Where the fuck is everybody getting these awesome corner style desks. I need to stop shopping in ghetto shit holes. :( Please do share if somebody knows of some place in or near San Antonio, TX that has decently priced nice corner desks. :)

Mine was purchased at Sam's club and I think it's like 18 years old. Don't find many desks like this any more, and not this solid. I like some of the new glass models, but I can't use them as my TSW2 wheel won't clamp to them. And this desk has been modded a bit (drawers on the left added, keyboard slide lowered, and now a new top).

OH GOD THE DUST JUST KILL ME NOW

It doesn't take long. It didn't look that bad before everything was removed. Although I admit that I let it go lately, mostly because I knew it was being removed. Also, I hardly ever have the overhead light on. Usually just a desk lamp.

Just keep in mind that this picture was taken before everything was completed:

Can you believe that the sliding desktop piece was only $3 in the Ikea scratch and dent section?

Guess you have a B&M store nearby. Shipping for me was as much as the desk itself...a $250 desk was going to cost $450 shipped.

What, like the rest of you don't have your own Hello Kitty closets?
Actually, my niece and my sister-in-law have exposed me to so much Hello Kitty that whenever I see it I shudder. So no, I don't have a Hello Kitty closet.

i need to move the 32'' tv over to left since its being covered by my 20'' monitors but once that is done ill be happy..

Very nice! Do you game on this setup?

I do, I game on the left 3 mostly, I've found that super smash bros works well in 4x1 Portrait Though. My 5870 has been quite the champ, I think I can still squeeze more out of it though when I get a new CPU. Rig in Sig.

Still running the same old invisible computer setup.

Logitech stick microphone is mounted under the desk; right beneath the keyboard.
Just a USB hub, different monitor, different mouse, different webcam, new headphones, new chair. Been away from the technology world and went into bodybuilding. Planning on getting a new monitor asap and installing this right above where my keyboard is:

Oh, and some monitor back lighting. That's all.

suiken_2mieu, I love the 4 x 30" setup! Even though I'm not a fan of Dell displays, it's certainly an enviable setup.

You know what would be really cool? Get a monitor arm that supports 4 displays and have 2 on top and 2 on the bottom, all in landscape mode.

Nothing special, just a -very- quick shot of my desktop. For the work I do (photo&video editing), this combination is wonderful. ;) EIZO CG275W + NEC SV2190. ATI FirePro V7900 as graphic accelerator on a Win7Pro system.

Ciao,

P.S. Ok, I understand the IBM keyboard could be considered *ugly* (at best) if not an ancient artifact that should go straight in a museum but i L-O-V-E it! :D

Though getting an arm that supported 4 30" displays would impossible, That would be undesirable for me as I game and would have 2 bezels right in the middle of the screen. I'm actually going to buy 1 more and do 5 in portrait. Also to note, using 3 of these displays I can natively watch QuadHD films.

Yes that I wanted to ask, I worked on keyboards like this before and I found it very unpleasant and annoying, what makes you to just love it? Modern keyboards are much more comfortable.
