Go bark up some other tree.

It's easy, tedious, and requires a lot of patience. Something I have no problem doing here at work. :p

I open a Search tab and a The Docks tab. I search for people over level 5 and with 5m or more. I refresh the page constantly, about every second. When someone pops up, I open their profile in a new tab, look at what port they're in, jump over to the Docks tab, move, and mug. Middle-click on the Mug link a bunch of times. One note, however, is to look at their money on hand in their profile to make sure they still have it. Half the time, if not more often, people deposit their money before you even open their profile.

Basically, good muggers will know you have money the second you receive it. It only takes another second to move ports and start pulling.

People will buy your points and mug you for the cash they just gave ya :)

Don't forget, it's mostly an outlet for those folks a bit repressed in RL :) You'll find a lot of trash talk and bowing up from wanna-be compu-thugs.

Fun tho.

i just joined the site... i applied to join the [H]Crew

i dunno what the hell im doing but i won like $87,512, not sure how lol, is that good?

i REALLLY want more money. has anyone ever opened up that treasure chest, and is there anything I can do besides guessing and writing down every number?

Apparently it only has 10m, so it's not really worth the hassle.

Seems the game was hacked and a bunch of people were targets of liquidation, including BUM's gang vault.

I did a search when I got on for people to mug, and Searcher appeared with 1.7 billion on hand. I mugged the shit out of him. Then he says it was hacked money, someone hacked him, etc. But I was warded after mugging, so when exactly did Searcher usurp his account again?

<shrug>

Everyone's speculating a server rollback.

Yeah you can pretty much forget about the chest. It is associated with your join date and id.

There are plenty of ways to make money. You can buy and sell points in the points market, get a job, 50/50, slots, and mug your little hear out.

No rollback.

Hey Everybody,

It has been brought to our attention that some of you have had some problems with your accounts. First of all, I wanted to let you know that we will not be doing a rollback. Secondly, contrary to any rumors you may hear Rule the Seas was not hacked so all of your information is secure. We are working diligently to repair any errors that may have occured with the game. If you have any issues with your account please feel free to send us a message and a GM will respond shortly.

Don't know. I was sent to the IW by them to. I read their profile and it appears we are at war with them  I guess that RTS=Unfair guy got some back up.

From Darknight:

You're not being targetted per se, Latech. We have a problem in that one of your guys blatently hit an [SP1] member ONLINE tonight and then went a little further.

We will not tollerate that kind of predation on our lower level members. As a result we have moved into a State of War with [H] until this issue can be resolved between your leader and myself.

I'm sorry for the problems this causes you and I hope to have this cleared up soon. However we will continue this action until it is clear that [H] intends to honor our terms.

Who did it? They make it sound like the hit was completely unwarranted, though I bet the SP1 member did something.

They have declared war on us because mello_newf attacked one of their members online after being mugged repeatedly and receiving rude messages from their gang member TaxPhd.

We're working to resolve this so we can get back to playing the game.

Apparently you declared war on us because mello_newf killed one of your members online because he mugged mello_newf. Killing someone who mugged you is a perfectly acceptable action to take. In fact, it's the risk one takes when mugging.

If you mug someone who can kill you, it's your own fault if you get killed. If you and your gang are that thirsty for war, basically war for no reason, then we will keep this up and keep everyone in both gangs online in the ward. You have a lot of low-level members who want to keep alive to train and become stronger. Since your oldest members can take care of our oldest members, we'll be targeting the young ones first.

Basically, this war is unwarranted. Pirates, yes, but even pirates can have class. Try to find some and let's settle this. We could even become allies against [nv].

It's not 'war for no reason'. Mugging happens but IW'ing someone for it is petty and they should know better when dealing with someone from a gang that stands behind their own. Mugging = acceptable. IWing an ONLINE player = Unacceptable. I often compliment folks who successfully mug me because they caught me in an attempt to move money while not in IW.

I'd love to settle this thing honorably. My terms are set and my boys are in for the long run. They will not accept being hit capriciously without consequences and are willing to fight for that principle.

Target who you wish - that's war. I want it to end. And it will end someday. We both realize this is a game and we are engaged in aspects of this game that are hard to define.

So you know I have developed a great respect for many of your gang members, except mello. I've offered your gang boss an alliance when we conclude this unpleasant business and I'm hopeful you will consider it.

Thanks for letting me know your mind on this. But know that we are large, well organized and tenacious. Frankly, once a war begins it's hard for me as a leader to call it off without a bounty or face challenge from others regardng my leadership - which has taken our gang to the top 30 in under a month.

I welcome any dialog you wish to pursue.

10 [Shield and Spear]s
100 pts
----------

This is a typical bounty when we have a war. It can be delivered at any time without fear of mugging and though substantial is not even close to breaking your bank. It's meant to be a penalty to reenforce your understanding of our resolve in this matter. And in this case, hopefully, as an 'initiation fee' for alliance.

You would find us excellent allies. Check with our other ones, particularly [ABS] - whom we joined in war - and [TBE] who we have assisted as well. My watch word for operating in this game is integrity and a steadfast resolve to our friends (hence the hard line being taken in this instance of one of our own being attacked).

Please consider it. Thanks!

That's ridiculous. Basically you give the impression that you start wars with people (taking full advantage of your size) just to get booty. You jump on any reason, big or little, to start a war. Respectable as pirates, yes. You say killing a mugger is petty, but so are these dirty tactics. It's unfortunate you have a high price (or any price at all)

to ally with other respectable gangs.

War is war, friend. We didn't start down this road - your man did.

I understand if you think the price of peace is high - it's meant to be to reenforce our message that messing with [SP1] is a mistake.

Although I mentioned the bounty as an 'initiation fee' that was not indeed what it is. I said you could view it as one if you wished. I mean it when I say I'm impressed with the caliber of players in your gang and would like an alliance.

But that's in the future. The bounty is full and well a payment for the transgression of our current conflict. Once that's concluded we can move on to more amicable dealings. Your way of play and what your gang may judge as acceptable do not apply to [SP1]. We endorse the universal concept that attacking an ONLINE player, especially one in a gang as manifest as [SP1], has it's consequences. You seem to think the consequences should be small. I disagree.

Again it's a matter of perspective.

I wish to remain reasonable in this matter and am open to reasonable negotiation.

Title: Re: War

You're getting no bounty from us. War is war but this shouldn't be a war. Killing someone who mugs you is perfectly acceptable. In fact, seeing it as an act of war against an entire gang is overzealous and blood-thirsty. Congrats on being pirates.

One of your members mugged one of mine while he was online. That's perfectly acceptable. He had cash out. An acceptable reaction that I've seen many people practice is to kill someone who mugs you, online or not. Usually it's right after being mugged. This matter should've been kept between those two, and, unfortunately for us, it wasn't.

Reasonable would have been not to start a war. Reasonable would be to identify the events that took place as settled between two people and not two gangs. You've been beyond reasonable, and your past of success scooping up smaller gangs and sweet-talk will be broken with us.

Title: Re: War

We're past that, friend. The war continues. I'm waiting to hear from Reaper.

I know this is not a pleasant consequence. You're definition of what is acceptable conduct is not mine. Hence the ongoing conflict and the lack of resolution. Please understand that one salient point.

Now that war has been joined there is are only one outcome for us - victory. We're willing to go much farther than than we have now if pushed. I asked for compensation commensurate with a level I determined would be punitive enough to get our point across to you. That being - don't mess with [SP1].

Your point is only displayed after war has been declared. You say you want to be reasonable, but there's nothing reasonable about these circumstances, especially the terms you've set forth. Please understand that one salient point.

The aggression is the exaggeration of violence on your part. I'm sorry you aren't fully pirates. Why should you be able to mug online but not kill for that mugging? With your undying love for war and monopolizing smaller gangs, I'd expect you to be able to identify the events that lead to this war as already settled. War was not necessary. For all we know, you tell your members to purposely mug any gang members they can find to provoke an online attack so you can declare war.

War is war. Unreasonable is a shortcoming.

You're boy [H] mello newf put one of mine in IW while ONLINE. When contacted about why he did it he became quite disrespectful and difficult to deal with. I won't tollerate hits on my people by folks who can't be controlled. Therefore we're dealing with it by going to war with your whole gang.

I'm reasonable and would like to negotiate for a mutually satisfactory agreement. But understand, the ArrfCom Army will not tollerate disrespect or predation of this type. I have over 170 members now, I can have DOZENs active at any given time, and they have orders to keep your gang warded until I call them off.

Please contact me soon.

Title: Re: We Sender: [H] ReaperofDreams

I have heard from Mello Newf about this situation. He mentioned one of your gangers was mugging him multiple times while he was online (I'm assuming for exp, as mello reported having no money out at the time). Any type of action, be it mugging or attacking while online is usually viewed as a provocation and/or threat. Mello then, supposedly (still waiting on confirmation), received 3 messages insulting Mello and my gang. I can't verify that as of yet, but I have requested Mello to forward them to me.

It seems there was some misunderstanding between Mello and TaxPhd, and in the end resulted in TaxPhd being IW'd while he was online.

While I know it sucks being IW'd while online, it's usually to find out from both sides in a reasonable manner what exactly happened. I ask there be a cease put on the attacks against my gang until we can resolve what happened and what the motive was. If you continue attacking members of my gang I will be forced to bring action upon your gang members as well.

I hope we can resolve this diplomatically, and without difficulty.

I keep hearing that my boy was the one at fault from you guys.

I'm sorry but a mugging in this game is like a frickin' handshake. Nothing bothers me more than someone who IWs someone for mugging them. You have cash out then you deserve what you get. I hear from TaxPhd that there was plenty of talk coming from your end, too.

In any case it gets worse when my enforcer goes to talk to your guy after he hits TaxPhd. Things did not go well there, either. It wasn't as though we didn't try to resolve this peacefully. mello brought this on you.

In any case given his high position in the gang my leadership team decided that given the hostility shown we should retaliate and send the message that [SP1] will not tollerate this kind of behavior or lack of respect.

I am still reviewing our options for ending this.

Title: No Title Sender: [H] ReaperofDreams

I have received a response back from Mello with the messages he received from your gang member TaxPhd. Your gang member did send several demeaning messages and mugged Mello several times prior to Mello sending him to the IW.

I believe this just may be a bit of hot tempers being flung around, and both parties were at fault.

If there is a resolution to be made, let me know what terms there are, if any, or if we should just call the situation as it is and both concede that both your gang member and my gang member were at fault.

Either way I would ask that you contact me. Sending me to the IW while I'm online doesn't resolve anything.

I regret the attacks but we're at war here.

I appreciate your willingness to end this. I think we can come to an agreement here. I am willing to call off my troops for 10 sets of [Shield and Spear]s and 100 pts sent to me. This will compensate my men for their time and effort as well as being a significant token of your willingness to embrace peace.

In fact, I am very impressed by the sensibilities you have shown here and would be glad to call you ally once this business is concluded.

I'll give you until 9am Server Time to consider this. In the mean time the attacks must continue.

I sent no messages between these

Feel free to retaliate until the matter is concluded. That is certainly your right.

I think you will find my terms fair. I don't want an unreasonable bounty to cover this transgression.

Title: Re: We Sender: [H] ReaperofDreams

Both our gang members were at fault, plain and simple. We can either handle this internally, dealing with our members ourselves for their behaviour, or we can start a e-pissing match to see who can IW the other's online players the most and get nothing accomplished in this game.

Title: Re: No Title Sender: [SP1] Darrknite

So be it. I have informed you of our terms. The behavior of your man in the incident was grounds enough for the action we have taken. I think the token payment would go some way toward smoothing relations between us - not simply between you and I, but our respective gangs.

We can continue hostilities as long as it takes to gain satisfaction in the matter.

We have friends as well. If you feel you must involve them, go right ahead. BTW, I have already communicated with [G$E] shortly after hostilities broke out. They understand this is a grievance between [H] and [SP1].

I have since spoken with the leader of G$E, and while not getting personally involved yet, I feel it may be very soon before himself and some of his friends become involved in this matter.

The war with SP1 is now over. Seems they shoot for a high bounty so they can haggle for something. They are now our allies.

We still have the issue with Munkeyboi. He and Reaper agreed to a weekend cease fire so Reaper could convince me to clear my profile. If I don't, he'll bring his gang into his insatiable need to keep us in the ward. This would obviously be bad, since it'd be less taxing on Munkey's energy and therefore less tedious and boring.

However, frankly I cannot clear my profile for absolutely nothing. Munkey's the lesser man in this. I'll try to think of something though. Maybe I'll advertise my profile to as many people as I can and then clear it. :D

Alright, I am getting the hang of this. Now this guy, [N!P] talthouse11., killed me while I was online. Thats bad form isn't it?

It's very bad form if you hadn't done anything to him before the attack. Occasionally you might come online and find yourself freshly in the Injury Ward. There might be a slight delay with you becoming active again and profile listing you as online. I always check profiles before I attack, but a couple times people have told me they were online.

Whenever someone I don't know hits me, whether online or offline, I see what their level is. If they're much lower, then they're hitting me for suicide or exp. If they're higher, I must've done something.

By the way, welcome to the gang. :D

I dont think I did something. I did mug some level one guy who was carrying around $500,000, but he was not in a gang. Funny stuff anyways.

i get attacked a couple times a day. most of the time offline but occasionally online. i see it as part of the game. it's only 20 mins in the IW i don't know why people get all pissy about it. i understand if you're getting pounded non-stop. but the occasional attack breaks up the monotony of the game.

ok, i'm off to learn how to mug properly :p

How do you know what has happened to you through the course of the day? All I see is money gone or my strength drops for no reason.

The Events link. It shows noteworthy stuff, like people attacking you, mugging you, people sending you stuff, etc. Your skills shouldn't be going down. There's no skill decay, except if you're using enhancement consumables and they wear off. I don't think they enhance until you're in battle though, but I could be wrong.

Seems my work really does track internet use. My boss gave me a report of my most visited sites, so I can't play it at work anymore. I don't even think he wants me on hardforum. If I get in trouble next time, I get three days off without pay. :(

Then again, I'm actively searching for a new job anyway. In the meantime I can only play RTS in the evening when I have some time to hop on.

I just started playing and I have to say I suck.

acheron hit 6 damage on you using their fists.
Using your Scimitar, you hit acheron for 4 damage
acheron hit 211 damage on you using their fists.
acheron killed you.

Whats up with getting hit for 211? Does that seem a little high to anyone else?

Anyway, I may join up with you guys if I can figure out how to do this.
