Leak of destruction.

Not sure why the link isn't playing nice with the forum.

Im not really a fan of the destruction that much. some maps in BF5 where the buildings get destroyed make the town pretty boring to fight in

I like if it is done correctly.

I have issues with C4 stuck to drywall and someone on the other side is safe. As long as the destruction is organic and not scripted to break the same way each time.

The focus on "character squads" upon starting the match worries me. It will likely end up being like most hero shooters.

Looks exciting, and seemingly has good sound effects, but might be a little too fast-paced and chaotic for me. Well, like most people, I'll wait until the reviews are out this time before buying it!

Looks okay, but again the focus on "character squads" is worrisome. You just know it will be stuffed with horrific micro/macro transactions.

Player controlled tank looked like a Leopard 2A4 with a "Revolution" or similar upgrade package. Saw an Abrams to.

The 5 minute clip of gameplay. I didn't feel like trying to rip the clip since it was posted to the reddit image servers.

http://cobalt.tools is handy to 1-click download a video from a reddit or youtube link, just about anything you throw at it. And with no shady redirects or ads.

Considering that everything released by DICE since BC2 has been broken garbage, this might hilariously work in BF6's favor.

When you say BC2... what do you mean? Less or no vehicles?? Because its the vehicles that makes Battlefield fun.

If you don't want vehicles there were maps (eg Metro) in BF3/4 that don't have them.

BF4 got it right. There was Team Death Match and Domination, which were smaller sub sections that were infantry only. It was practically two games in one. The more recent BF games could not figure this out. On one hand the vehicle modes had too few vehicles and it felt like winning the lottery to use one. Yet there were no good infantry only modes. BF1 had some, but the maps were poorly designed, although BF4 TDM/Conquest maps were not the greatest either they were still better. And there was a proper server browser to select these modes. If I recall these modes were more or less removed in BF5, or the game search did not work or was too limited to choose.

I believe this has been somewhat the case for most of the recent games. This is supposedly why they struggle with their engine so much since everyone who helped build it is gone.

I mean:

- the client wasn't buggy unstable trash
- there was a functional server browser and community run servers
- the perk and gadget system wasn't designed around monetisation
- vehicles were not glass cannons designed to appease whiney infantry players
- infantry pacing was strategic and team orientated, and did not feel like DICE was trying to emulate CoD's run and gun style
- maps were well designed with well placed choke points which created what felt like an organic battle front
- etc

Ooh ooh can I have a neon pink and green swirl on my uniform and a bright red cape?????!!!!

I think BF not partnering with the popular Battlefield Friends team for in game content was a missed opportunity. I would have paid real money for Neebs Gaming voice overs or character skins. Dip dip, potato chip!

Really its quite simple. It just needs to look and feel like a military game. That alone would make it standout from the competition. There are some other niche mil sim games like Squad, and Hell Let Loose. I have to try HLL a bit more, but those are a harder/more time consuming to get into. I do miss Red Orchestra Ost Front, it had a good combination of realism yet wasn't such a pain to get into the action with long running distances or waiting for a transport. These newer takes on realistic online FPS games generally focus too much on long walking distances, selecting very far off spawn points, and looking at maps. That works for single player mission driven games, but not for multiplayer IMO.

Battlefield doesn't need the realism of even Red Orchestra. It just has to play nicely, but be a military game. Not a sleazy flea market filled with garbage for sale, which is what skin-based shooters remind me of.
