BFV was great in my opinion.
Exactly, I'm pissed off that they didn't finish the game, they went sideways with battle royal bullshit and characters that didn't belong in battlefield.

I didn't buy 2042 strictly because bfv wasn't delivered as promised, turned out to be a good call

I just got 2042 on my ps5 a couple weeks ago. Think it was $3. Still kinda feel regretting about that. It feels so empty and cheap compared to pretty much every battlefield before it.

It will suck, because they have not confirmed no out of place cosmetic micro transactions. And they won't, or at least there is a 99% chance they won't. I get emails every now and then about BF 2042, and it looks like a damn cartoon. They'll use the campaign for marketing, but when it comes to the multiplayer it will look like this:

This is the same marketing crap we heard from BF 2042. They had that half baked mode that had limited content from modern/WWII era, but it sucked and the main game sucked and looks like a cartoon. I have zero faith in EA not allowing these style of micro transactions. Even if they get the gameplay right, it will still be an inferior experience. Until they confirm in plain English there will be none of this in the upcoming BF game, I don't trust them one bit. They are using the same marketing points. Best game ever, a whole bunch of studios are working on it, best BF game ever, we're inviting 5 streamers (who cares?) to play our game.

This is a totally NEW game!

I got all the way to registration and it booted me to the back of the line! Site is laggy as hell!

I didn't hit a queue, but maybe I am going to a different site. This is just the playtest site right?

I thought this would be named BF6, not 7

The naming is so wonky, so we went from BF3 to BF4 next, but then to BF1 ( ok WW One ) I get it, but then to BF5 for WW2 era, uh...ok? And then to the future with BF2042.

So the next in line after 5 is 6 right? And why was BF5 even named that? Especially after the World War 1 themed game named BF1, so shouldn't BF5 be named BF2?

LOL I'm confused

I wish they would mix a small peppering of Squad or Hell Let Loose in. I don't think a high percent of their target audience has patience for that though lol.

Where is that preorder button? A couple of ingame like this and people will buy preorder. People complain that they are not good and constantly buying and playing. So none of BC2 again.
As for the name, they don't even know that, they give a random.
Now they go again to some type BF3 or BF4.

It's not called 7, that is just what the thread poster called it. Yes, you are correct that this would be the sixth game in the main series, not the seventh. 2042, 2142, Bad Company, Vietnam, 1943, Hardline, and BF1 were all spinoffs.

There is no pre-order because there is no game, yet.

Haven't we learned to never pre-order a Battlefield game.

I've been playing the BF series since the original and my older brothers would always remind me. These games weren't truly playable and great until at least 6 months to one year after release with patching and updates.

What is it called, it doesn't have a name yet? What does this BF Labs mean?
Pre alpha gameplay looks really good. The graphics are very good. And the destruction is enormous.

BF Labs is a program from DICE and EA to get direct player feedback on the next installment while it is in development. Some very early development footage is shown in the trailer, but it is nowhere near complete. There was actually an invitation-only event at EA for the game and BF Labs in the middle of last year, so that developmental footage is probably based on that.

I kind of feel like this is an overcorrection since DICE were criticized for ignoring all the feedback from early testers with 2042. It could be a good thing, but I'm cynical about anything EA does. They may rightly be trying to course correct with Ubisoft, one of the largest game developers in the world, being on the brink of collapse.

Player feedback: yeah make BF4 but more

I'm just reading the news, apparently the new Battlefield won't be released until 2026. or later.Everyone wants to avoid GTA 6 and it's not even known if GTA 6 will even be released this year.
And when you look at all of that, it means that maybe we won't get anything this year, not even GTA 6, BF or HL3 or HL Episode 3.

This is where Nintendo Switch 2 and Metroid Prime 4 comes in to save me! 🙏

I will say BF6 releases this Fall Oct / Nov. The shareholders need a new Battlefield game out, if things were good with 2042, we would have had a release this past year, but now we will this Fall.

Unless they delay it for some reason, the Switch 2 is also quite a ways off, possibly not until 2026.
Switch 2 in the next 4-5 months. Unless something crazy happens.

I Highly doubt it. Maybe next spring or summer.

Not buying another BF until they bring back rented servers. I hit lvl 500 a few months ago and just stopped playing after a few thousand hours invested. BF5 was a good game.. but the cheating just kills any good qualities. Rampant and prolific cheats all lvl 500 getting 100+ kills a round just need to go. There is no good anticheat... BF5 never had one anyway. The only real fix is rented servers with active moderation to keep the lowlifes out. Got banned from EA forums for talking about the rampant cheating. Fuck EA.. seriously.

And yes to prior comments, just reskin BC2 or BF4 with rented servers = profit.

Agreed. Desperately needs custom servers.

Just make Portal its own thing with rented servers.

Are custom servers owned by players then? That only brings about the server owner's abuse of anyone, regardless of whether they are a cheater or not.

Last time private dedicated servers had BF3?
No, Battlefield 3 was the first game where you had to "rent" a server from EA's partnered service provider.
BF4 had custom servers. True Born Gaming was a favorite host for me.
You had to rent servers from partnered service providers in Battlefield 4. There are mods now that allow people to host their own servers, but it was never supported officially.

They pay for them. It is a give and take. People complain about badmins, but nothing is stopping them from renting and running their own server how they want to run it. Admins also have to deal with idiots who refuse to read server rules and break the rules. Part of the issue was DICE never gave admins full controls so you couldn't always stop players from picking items that were banned on that server. If you pay for the server why shouldn't you be able to run with whatever rules you want? If no one likes the admin, it will sit empty.

No custom servers and you end up like BF2042 where every server is the same so no community ever builds. You have no servers running fun custom game modes.

Pretty much this for BF4 IIRC. How is the anti-cheat for BF:2042? I don't recall experiencing any cheating in BF4, it used Punk Buster and seemed to work good at kicking/banning hackers and cheaters immediately.
