The HD cage is riveted to the case and bay above it with ~9 rivets that are probably fairly easy to punch out, but not get back in.
Did Silverstone ever release the usb 3.0 upgrade for the Rv02 case?
I bought one today for $12 + $6 shipping. I'll let you know what installation is like. I contacted them using the form on their website
How did you find out about it? How is it installed? I went to their site yesterday, but I didn't see it listed anywhere. How do I order one? Which case it is for?
I ordered it for my ft02. It wasn't on their website; I emailed them asking about a "USB 3.0 retrofit kit for my case" using the form here: http://www.silverstonetek.com/contactus.php. Joel emailed me back very quickly.
No idea what the install process will be.
Sorry if this has been discussed (thread is getting quite long now) ...
Has anyone experimented at all with reversing the 180mm fans and having all 3 exhaust out the bottom of the case? I use a Corsair H70 in a push/pull configuration and thought that maybe if a person was to reverse that as well, and have it bring air into the case, that having the 3 180s move air out, that you could get rid of the hot air produced by vid cards and the cpu.
Or is it really better to just let the CPU coller take the air brought in from the 180s and shoot it out the top?
You're better off buying a <$50 case to hold your secondary PC. Get one that can hold a good amount of HDDs.Hi guys, I have a crazy question for you.
Do you think it is possible to have two systems inside the FT02 ? I know it's crazy, but it would be convenient. I am prepared to do some moding, but even so it could be impossible. I have a full size 1156 board in there and was thinking if it's possible to add a mATX board in there too.
I am not using and DVD drives, so that space is available and I could remove the HDD cages. Also, I only have one video card and the rest of the PCI slots are free so there could be some space too.
Basically I want another system for network rendering, I just need to plug in the power and network cable to it.
Let me know if you have some ideas that can help me.
Thanks

You could upgrade those 5850 to 6850/70 with Asus Direct CU or MSI twin Fr... cooling.
If bitcoin mining craze is still going around you could probably make it zero cost upgrade.
Bitcoin mining is making 5xx0 series radeon prices skyrocket that's what i meant.
Oh interesting, why is that? Is it optimized for bitcoin mining?
The HD6800/9000 series is a finer balance between memory bandwidth, compute, and setup engine. The HD5800 series is just raw compute power... (litterally, double the previous gen in compute, not so much in memory, etc)
Thanks, but bitcoin value has been volatile and I'd rather not go through all the trouble anyway, so upgrading to the 6850/70 doesn't really appeal to me. The HD5850's have been working great.
If cooling them in the FT02 is going to be a problem I'll just pick up an Antec 1200, the FT02 seems overall a beautifully designed case, and my experiences with the GD04 have been overall very positive, but if it can't cool my configuration then there's no point.
I'm hoping the case has been around long enough that someone might have a similar rig i.e. HD5850/70 CF with one card in the 6/7 expansion slots in the FT02.
If you're dead set on that cooler, get a Corsair 650D or HAF X instead.
Damn, I can't believe I didn't notice it before but the left side panel (behind the motherboard) is warped, kind of bends out :|
I wonder how I can remedy that.
Anyone have experience with AC products? How is the build quality?
Hi Rurki,
Did the 5bay Array cage unscrew, or did you have to take a Dremel to the case in order to remove it?
James
Interested to see how the Corsair H100 will fit in this case. Maybe I'll be the ginuea pig since I'm looking to build a new system.
USB 3.0 came today. Install was easy, took 10 minutes tops, and most of that was re-routing cables. Now if I only had a USB 3.0 device...

Doing my first complete rig build. Let me know what you guys think?

Thanks for the recomendations. Personally I prefer the water cooled solution simply because the Sandy Bridge i7 will allow me to easily overclock and this is added assurance for cooling.
I do like the idea of going with a SSD, especially if I can squeeze in another fan or just provide more air flow as you suggest. Since im running RAID right now with my raptor drives I think I can live with it for now or at least until the prices of SSDs come down a little.
