Haven't tried the Zalman, but I couldn't fit a single GTX 580 with the Spitfire in this case. Granted, I do have a tower CPU cooler (SA). I would double check all the dimensions before dropping the coin on this setup.

Roofone, thanks for keeping my name alive in this thread :) I also ordered the USB 3.0 kit from Joel, thanks for the heads-up.

I already have the spitfire from the crazy pc going out of business sale. I plan on putting it on the bottom (left) card and facing the sink over the VF3000f, hopefully it clears. I've heard some positive reports on the VF3000 in this case too.

Just ordered the case on Amazon (cheaper than Newegg). Also ordered a pair of GTX 460 SSC+ which should fit nicely with the rest of the setup. Thanks to this thread I will be a proud FT02 owner!!!!!!

Tell me more, I have 2 6990s and want to crossfire, but would have to buy a new mobo and this case.

Does the internal exhaust side of the card suffer?

Cards with center fans are generally not recommended by SS.
But, there have been many owners who achieved great temps or better temps than their previous case.

My card is an open design with internal exhaust, ASUS DCUII, and I get great temps with it.

Yes but that's way too expensive. The H60's have been going for $41-51AR. Anything above $100, you should look at traditional watercooling, which this case doesn't need.

Agree.
And the Kuhler 920 costs far less and has more than good enough performance. :D

You'll have to excuse my ignorance as this will be the first time I'll be doing a watercooling setup and I'm still learning products and features.

Anyone used this case with a 6990 or other video card that blows air out both ends? I am concerned that the intake air will hit the video card internal exhaust and overheat the video card...

My experience with Twin Frozr 6950's was that one ran fine but two in crossfire in adjacent slots destroyed case cooling. Cards were @100% fan, 90c+, and the case interior was very hot (wasn't monitoring CPU at the time so I don't know how it affected temps).

I intend to get them as spaced out as possible. they come with a 10 cm crossfire bridge, which should be two empty unblocked slots. May almost be worth it to try and mount some sort of small exhaust fan inbetween the two cards(which could actually be mounted externally now that i think about it...

I plan to pull the 5" bay covers out and replace them with mesh and then add a 120mm fan in the bay enclosure blowing air right on my GTX 460 SLI setup. Along with having the factory installed fans on the bottom, i think this setup should provide sufficient airflow.

Mesh covers will let in a lot of dust though unless you put filters over them and I doubt a 120mm fan in the front of the case will make any real difference in temps. In reviews it was shown the RV03 didn't really benefit from installing the optional 120mm fans in it.

I second the dust comment. Also, the airflow from the front fan likely won't benefit the hotter top GTX460 due to the rotated mobo design. The fan will just blow at the underside of the lower card.

I guess it depends where your tower is. If its on the floor, yeah it will probably let in dust but I plan on having mine on the desk, afterall this case is something worth showcasing :)

Speaking about hot try overclocked vanilla gtx 470 :)
You can put hands above the case and get that chimney effect :)

Unless you live in a chip fab, you'll be trading one of the main advantages of FT02 (all air intakes are filtered) for dubious airflow benefits. My case is on my desk, and yet every couple weeks I clean out pretty substantial amount of dust from the three 180mm filters.

Didn't even realize until the other day that silverstone is onyl 10 mins from my house! Wonder if they have a show room...

Does anyone know if the H80 will fit in the FT02 for sure? With both of it's fans? I'd assume you'd put one of the fans on the outside of the case and the 2nd fan on the inside?

Thats pretty much what I'm planning to use however I'm waiting for reviews to come back before getting the H80. Right now its either the H80 or Antec 920. Not sure if the Corsair unit does the same but the 920 allows you to adjust the fans through software instead of having to push a button on the pump (Corsair). Either way I'll probably set it up with one fan one the outside of the case like you mentioned.

My new setup.....going to be a fun weekend :D

Is anyone else running a 6990 in the FT02? If so what kind of temps are you seeing? The 6990 has a radial style cooler instead of the blower style and so it blows hot air out both ends of the card and I think the 180mm fans in the FT02 are just working against it. Also to make it worse the 6990's are so long it basically sits butt against the fan with about 1 cm or less space between them. I don't have the AP181 fans in mine and the honeycomb grills have to be removed to fit a 6990.

You could consider doing this to you grill:

He cuts a section off the grill to fit the card. Looks quite neat.

Well, I finally finished my first scratch built last night. Took forever to figure out the cable management and wish I could have hid it a little more but overall I'm very happy.

Specs:
i7 2600k @ 3.4ghz Stock Clock (will OC shortly)
P67 FTW Motherboard
(2) GTX 460 SSC+
Crucial 128GB SSD
Corsair Vengeance 8GB
Antec 920 Watercooling Kit
Corsair AX850 PSU
Silverstone FT02 Black Case

Everything Lined up for installation:

Great pictures!!! What did you use for lighting?

That is the original way the cables were routed in the FT02 so you're fine.
I can also see that SS refined the front logo to a smooth texture, rather than the earlier ridge like texture.

Thanks. As for the lighting, its all natural coming in from the windows. Pictures were shot with a Canon EOS 20D.

Yeah I tried running the power cables for the cards in the back but the side panel wouldnt close so I had to run them as you see. I'm happy with it.

It looks good too. I'm going to have to steal the idea. I also really love that 90 degree 24pin on the motherboard. That cable is super stiff on the AX-850.

Yeah I was surprised how stiff the cabling was. There were a few times I would have to apply a little heat to get things to bend/twist as I wanted. Next up, Scythe Fan Controller and a tower stand to keep it off the floor.

Also really nice to see the 90 degree 24pin connector as I've not seen this before. It would be great if all motherboard manufacturers starting using these as standard as they have done with the SATA connectors as it can make the cables much neater, but I guess it might cause issues in smaller cases.

I'm going to be building a PC for my brother next week in the FT02 case with Asus P67 Pro motherboard. So any suggestions (ideally with photos) of how best to route the 24pin cable?

James
