Rage sucks

The game is 25GB? Damn. With those textures and a small to medium-size campaign, I'm curious what is even taking up that kind of space.
Maybe there's a Blu-Ray movie hiding in there.

Borderlands sucked to me. After killing 100 stupid dogs and looking though little piles in the first game I uninstalled it and gave it back to my Brother..
No interest in the second after the whole Aliens CM fiasco

You dont know WTF you missed out on .

It's the Megatextures... basically very large textures used for the environments. They used this to give artists more freedom to draw without any limit (other than resolution, of course)

This is different than most games that use tile-based/repeating textures. There are still resolution limits with this method, but you also have to strategically blend layers of other tile-based textures to try and avoid the often undesired "patterned" look.

With Borderlands, I think you can probably figure out if you like the game in the first hour.
While there is more to it than those early missions - the game does tend to stick to the same general system of missions and rewards. Then again, so do plenty of other games like Diablo, Neverwinter, and others.
If you like those mission-based loot-heavy games, Borderlands is for you. If not, you might also still like it as a decent but nothing earth-shattering shooter. It's definitely not for everyone.

Agreed Borderlands is really repetitive. I havent finished the second because I just kinda lost interest.

Same for me, I got about 40 hours into it and just lost interest. Everyone else seems to play the crap out of it though.

Borderlands is all about loot, gun porn and co-op...if you hate any of those things you probably will not like the game...I liked Borderlands 2 but treated it more like a straight FPS and wasn't too into looting hundreds of weapons...Claptrap was also funny

If he didn't like the first one, he's not going to like the second. I enjoyed both games but they are basically the same thing, only 2 has fancier graphics and more guns.

I beat the first one, played through Zombies and a little bit of the General Knoxx DLC and got bored. Same with 2...beat the game, played half the Pirate Booty DLC and got bored. Might revisit it to play Tiny Tina, as supposedly that is really good.

They also just announced that they are releasing another level cap DLC (not free patch...DLC). I don't think I want to support that kind of practice.

I have borderlands, I can't stand playing more than 25 minutes or so into it. I find it ugly and boring. I got RAGE for $5 and it's been more fun for me and much better looking.

I enjoyed BL2 but in small doses and then it picked up for me... only one play through so far.

I held off again on Rage, reading more of the complaints I will probably avoid it forever, too many games these days to have to deal with the issues... but never say never, right? :D
