R580 new pics/specs

those were the asus bios i thought? the PE wasn't an official ATI release, just a factory doing their newly aproved OC'ing rights

o. if thats the case... well, another company should do that again every time. (i never really looked closely at what happened, i just saw ppl were flashing their bios's for a free upgrade)

Apparently a lot of the flashed cards overclocked better (not by much, though) at the same voltage after the flash.
 
Yeah, that's true. But it was still only a change in BIOS, real PE cards used higher quality RAM and such (I'm pretty sure?).
 
would be pretty hard to get higher quality then 1.2 ns ram, unless they wanted to up the price by more then 150 and slap on some 1.1ns

Not worth it unless you wanted to end up like the 7800GTX 512MB but the 1.2ns RAM is clocked high enough already and pushed to the limit. We now need DDR4 :p
 
yea apparently the turn out on 1.1ns is very rare, a majority of it ends up rated at 1.2
