Just wanted to say thanx for stepping up moderation of the video card forums, it really needed it!
 
It was an event overdue and thanks for the props to the mods who volunteered to clean up the VidCard forum. We may lose a few members along the way, but I think that is natural porogression. It is time to reclaim control and make it safe for anyone to feel free to post without fear of reprisal from troublemaking members who opt to use intimidation, flaming and namecalling over logical argument and facts to make their point. It will take a week of so to run it's course, but the results will soon be apparent and a more enjoyable forum to visit. Thanks for the kudos to the mods. :cool:
 
Congrats to the Mods who volunteered their time and energy there.

Key is that they “volunteered ” to spend their free time there working for others hassle free enjoyment.

Most gracious and generous indeed. These are good people. :D
 
That's great. Those guys know how to clean up. I guess it was a needed thing because any time i looked at that place, it was a FUD warzone.

The mod's around here do a fantastic all the time here anyways, so I give a big round of applause to all of you. I also send my condolences to the GenMay mods. Good luck. :cool:

There was a problem with the Video card forum? I didn't know that. But i never look in there. :confused: Wait was it that hole thing about if you like ATI your a noob and crap?

Yeah there was plenty of that. It wasn't really a warzone, maybe I exaggerated, but it could get unpleasant at times. Heck, I hadn't posted in there in a year untill a few nights ago. It just seems that there are a few people strongly attached to ATI's side and nVidia's side, and want to kill whoever disagrees.

AtomicMoose, Dr Evil, p[H]ant0m, and myself. All four of us are veteran mods (Moose and p[H]ant0m from Distributed Computing, Dr Evil from For Sale/Trade, and myself from Disk Storage Systems), so we weren't just hired off the street to clean up the Video Card forums. I have tried to contribute to the conversation in video cards as well as help with the moderation work. You guys are quite welcome, and thanks for the props and support. It makes me (and I'm sure all other mods/admins) feel a lot better to know that there are members out there that think highly of the forum staff.

The sheer number of threads and posts made it hard for the mods to keep the kiddies at bay. I sincerely hope that more mods will clean it up; I haven't visited there in ages.

the thing i remember the most of the vid card forum was how every thread starter always included the "please no flamers or thread crappers"...
 
I read, all of the forums almost every day; and the mods are doing awsome work. The vid card forum already looks better IMHO. With the Mooserator, (I still think that should be his title:D) Doug, and others in there, it's bound to be clean in no time.

True, that happens everytime a new generation of video cards come out. I notice the same thing with the x800vs6800. I stopped visiting the Video card forums for a while because of all the namecalling and bashing that went on there from someone wanting to buy a damn card. It was ridiculous.

You guys do a great job moderating. Keep it up. :)

Props to Tranc for giving props :p. Maybe that was too far heh.

Those vid card forums sure needed some cleaning. So much adversarial drivel.

Must admit that I lurked here for some time before registering. While there are a great
number of neighborly contributors, [H]ard has (had) it's share of battle-axes as well.
Hopefully things will get better from now on. Thanx again :cool:
