This reminds me, I need to swing by the electrical store so I can power the new toys.

One of my end goals is to relocate all my av equipment in all the rooms and centralize it on a rack (two post) so it will give the rooms more clutter free appeal.

Ya, I made a "flying" trip to Menards this morning and got some hard conduit for the outlets I plan to install, with the load that I have, I need it on 2 circuits, it is on one at the moment and it has pulled it down to 114v from 120v, get it split correctly, so no circuit is overloaded and everything gets max volts!!

I have done pretty much the same, it is not complete, but at the moment, the only thing by the tvs is a hd100 extender from Sage, at some point even that is going in the rack to be controlled via RF remotes...

The rackmount KVM came in, just finishing some wiring and I will post pictures soon...
 
did you order through dell or just off ebay?

if its from dell should have sent me a pm, would have seen pricing through resller.

eBay, the KVM for $96 and the kvm switch for $35, cannot beat those prices.!!!!

Great stuff.....so how much would it cost me to get a exact brand new build like that exactly everything from evey parts you have and hard drives?

I'm thinking of spending $30000 on a 16 core Xeon server soon....got $160000 floating around in my pocket atm! :D

$30k for a 16 core xeon server is a rip off unless it had a pettabyte of storage.
 
90TB storage!!!!! 128GB of ECC fully buffered FBDIM RAM!

Petabyte ?? Dream on...that would put a 100 grand dent in my pocket by then:mad:

Looks good, but I am not sure if I would front face two post rack that norco case, they are not technically designed to do that.

An alternative could be that you could look at a centerpost shelf for that case.

Also, are you fixing the top of the rack to the roof or something? I notice no floor bolts ;)

How come on your Photobucket Plutonium 3 from this thread is named Plutonium 4 on your Photobucket and your sage server is named plutonium 3E on your Photobucket?

There is a support post on the back, so the front of the Norco is only carrying the front of the case's weight.....

It is well bolted into the floor joists, it will not move at all......

Plutonium 3 was the cube server, Plutonium 3E was going to be the recording server but I renamed it, Decaserver (for the 10 tuners it has) and Plutonium 4 is the new Norco 4020 machine....

My dad brought the poster home from work, it fills the space, so it is no soooo white......

There are 4 UPSs at the base of the rack... (2) 1500VA, (2) 1285VA......
