204b? nice..

New Workstation as of last week

i use this only for email, internet, vmware and IM
Samsung 20" (useless to go to 22 since there is no resolution upgrade, also i think 24" is too heavy for this machine, 24" is for new gaming rig when the 9800gtx comes out)

core2duo E4500 2.2GHz @ 3.0GHz (i got a shitty cpu, wont go past 3.2ghz reliably without going to 1.5v, the ninja mini cant really handle that much heat)
2GB Mushkin Ram PC2-6400
120GB Seagate HDD (most files are on NAS or file server, i barely use 5GB of the HDD)
TSSCorp burner

Here is my setup at college (yes I installed an extra lock on the door :) ). Rig in the sig, Xbox 360, 32" Toshiba LCD, and of course my Sennheiser 595's keep me "on task" on those long study sessions.

...The monitor doesn't look that bad in person. And yes, I make sure to turn the PC off when using the 360 :p

Enjoy!

^^ yep, thats a hand made cMoy headphone amp. I love it, if anybody is interested in one they only run about $70 (high quality, pre-built) and in my opinion are worth it if you have decent headphones. The amp is resting on one of those grippy things people put in their cars to hold their cell phones still.

That little Altoids amp is just too fucking cool!!!!! I want one even though I can't stand using headphones. I worked in AM talk radio for a time and NEVER got used to wearing those damn things.

I love Footblall76's defence system and extra lock and a....wrist rocket!!!!

O those could be cheep headphones ... and im a retard

Sweet amp thought

Is that the Toshiba Regza 720p with built in Up Converting DVD player?

I have the cMoy too!

uhh, for power consumption issues or something else? is it bad to have a 360 running next to a computer that's on?

-No, the toshiba doesn't have the built in DVD player. Everything I plug into it looks amazing though, the 360 does a decent job of DVD playback.

-I make sure not to use the PC at the same time as the 360 because the Lian-Li has a top vent and fan that blow directly on the bottom of the 360 case. Even though it's like 5 degrees here everyday I'm sure the 360 doesn't require any additional "heating." ;)

SWANK!
figured it was related to the headphones. i especially like it because i hate front-side headphone jacks (though, my house has soundproofing so i usually just let my logitech z-5500s kill my ear drums).

Retook the setup with friend's D80, looks much nicer.

What desk is that?

Been thinking about getting a Fredrik (don't have space to fit a jerker) but that one looks interesting (albeit cold!)

I kinda hate keyboard trays (=/) but it looks really nice, how much!?!

I agree the DVD playback on the 360 is subpar to say the least, but honestly as a college student I'll take it. Plus, I am using my PC + headphones setup more and more to watch DVD's. The 360 gets used when friends are over, and god knows they can't tell the difference.

Yeah I'm only using half of the "L shape" desk. Got it from Office Max too for $100 shipped, it was a good deal.

Well guys here is my temporary setup, just need it for photography class right now soo its kinda messy but functional, getting a new desk and cleaning up the room from all the crap :)

Any comments or suggestions are appreciated :)

also, do you have headphones that need Amping first of all?

For something I want to do. Yes and for on my computer... why the eff not =D I have some Senn 515s that I got a project for... Maybe even replace them with some Higher Senns. I have also thought about getting some nice bookshelf speakers from my work and putting them on my computer also. This would be a step that way.

I also found that thinkgeek carries a ton of different headphone amps. I may gohead and pick up 1 or 2.

I'd rather get a PA2V2 from electric-avenues or something from the Headroom line or a SuperMacro amp for Xin, either way, there are better amps than that Sonic Impact one, and *especially* better ones than are on ThinkGeek.

Check eBay for a cMoy opamp2227 like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Micro-Cmoy-head...oryZ3274QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

They're much better quality and cheaper to boot.

Some updates :). Got my Dad's old rears for my fronts now. Definitive Tech BP-1's. It's a sin to have them hooked up to the Z-5500's, I know, but they do sound quite a bit better. Time to save up for a TX-SR505 + Acoustech H-100!

I just bought this one. I'll use it with my MacBook Pro when I'm at work or traveling. Thanks for the link!

Sorry for the noob question, you guys use to control the volume on the headphones ? To enhance the sound quality ?

Here is my Not so special POS desk that I got around the same time last year from staples for $70. Great deal, good desk but not good enough for me. This is my 7th desk I went by now. Well Staples being the nice guys, they sent me a $25 gift certificate good towards any purchase over $50, So tomorrow I will get a new desk.

Anyway back to the good parts, here is my desk as you can see what ever is on the picture with my perfume collection that I never get to use.

Your going to love this one, check out what happened to this desk. My printer used to be under there somewhere, took it out so it wouldn't get damaged when I am pounding my.... ok back to the story.

and this infamous shot, look at that!!! damn I never taught a female body could be this strong..

and for the website it is poopreports, some crazy stories over there if you want to read.

Amazing home theater setup you have going there, looks professionally done, is it? Nice projector too, is it DLP technology?

@ w1retap

Wow dude that is an amazing home theater you got there only question does the screen go up and down by remote or no?

No. I built the screen myself. It is fixed.

Please re-direct discussion to my worklog/gallery so we don't comment too much in this workstation thread.
