Eh, IDK, I would probably go for a sub instead....

It bugs me when I see speakers behind monitors. If you don't have a place for your center, then run phantom center.

or in this case just put a small shelf above your monitors with the centre on a downward angle.

not really an option... as a student leasing this place it doesnt make much sense for me to put up floating shelves and stuff... put it behind for the time being and make do...

u kidding? this sub may not be tops or anything but it sounds really clean and it pumps more than is even reasonably needed(or wanted)... money would be much better spent on a better receiver...

Bad pictures, but my room isn't very light. It's also very childish, hehe. Anyway,

Yamaha RX-V659
AV123 X-LS Encores
Two pairs of the Insignias (6.1)
B&W ASW600

Plus a ghetto shelf and three ghetto cancer giving speaker stands that I just put together

Still controversial but oh well... Swans M10. Cleaned up the wiring and testing new camera flash... waiting for that new shiny desk..

Great looking Encores! I like the new style grilles.

Over the weekend, I ordered a home theater package of X-LS/CS Encores in the same finish as yours. I didn't get the X-Sub, tho. I bought another BIC H-100.

very nice you got the encores

how do they sound

They sound brilliant. They are very easy to listen to at all volume levels and their sound is very realistic, especially when it comes to acoustic guitar. I knew they were good when I never bothered comparing them against my old pioneers.

I don't want to take the grilles off because someone at the factory stripped the screws :( but I think the physics of their curvatures help the sound stage. You can also cause some crazy phaser effects by putting your hand in front of the tweeter, haha.

Good choice. My subwoofer is ridiculous for the size of room I'm using it in, and the sound style of the X series really supports bodacious bass.

How do the encores compare to the discontinued x-ls?
From my understanding, the Encores have a upgraded tweeter. Beyond that, I'm not sure what the difference is, but I'll find out when my Encore bookshelf and center speakers arrive.

Better tweeter and revised crossover.

I find the grill slightly disturbing. If that style of grill really is more acoustically transparent, why isn't it used more frequently?

funny, i like the rough look of the grill, would look cool on my shop's system.
anyways i remove the cloth grill on my speakers for listening sessions.

I like the Encore grilles A LOT better than the "snowman" grilles on the original X-LS. I tossed those stupid looking things as soon as I opened the box.

Infinity Primus P150 Bookshelf
Infinity Primus PC350 Center
KLH Audio Systems 9250B Towers
BIC Acoustech H100 Subwoofer (This thing kicks ass...)

Is anyone familiar with such device that allows you to connect/store several dvi hdcp inputs (two computers) which channels into one dvi hdcp output (lcd screen) for the reason that one can easily transition from the various outputs? Thanks

My new baby....
Got it on Saturday and have been enjoying it since :D

Insignias' with T-Amp Gen 2! Pairing them up with z-2300's Subwoofer (until I can pick up a cheap sub).

Edit: Retook the shots with ghostchild's (the guy on the next page) Nikon D80, looks much nicer.

A closer shot of the T-Amp, loving the little guy.

^How does that sound? Does the z2300 sub cross the sound over correctly? I've always been curious about that...

My Audigy 4 actually lets me change the crossover frequency, so I think its fine (I've got it at ~65hz). The Insignia's spec says it can go all the way down to 50hz, but that's probably being too generous. Its a decent temporary subwoofer, I'm keeping my eye on the Dayton 10" from Partsexpress to see if it goes on sale.

Acoustech H100 will blow that thing out of the water.
