Mark660,

Your Rotel combo reminds me of my old combo... I had the RC1070 pre and the RB1070 amp (one step below your 1080 amp)... good ol' days!

You like yours? Upgrading or staying where you are?

staying were i am i love the sound of my stereo i recon the dali concept 8s are a good match

Sorry didn't have my wider zoom lens....

Swans M10

Those Dali's are gorgeous! What's the house sound like? I was thinking about picking up a pair of the Dali 6s but shipping to Hawaii is going to be like $250 and I can't find any reviews for them. :(

well i reckon u should go for the 8s the bass they put out is amazing but they do need a bit of power to make them sound nice i ran them on my dads onkyo reaciver for a while thats 100watts a channel and they sounded ok but the sound was nothing compared to how they perform with the 200watt rotel amp

LOL lucky I'm on my iPhone can't copy and paste my sig

Allow a fellow Swan M10 owner help.

Those are the Swan m10 speakers.
HOWEVER, the placement that ghostchild has is CORRECT. While the sub doesn't play past 100hz much, anything above 70-80hz is directional, which means the system sounds best when the subwoofer is placed directly in front of the user. The system isn't meant to play loud; it's meant to play accurately. The subwoofer isn't a subwoofer in the traditional sense of a big box that gets thrown in the corner and blows the roof off. Think of it as just reinforcing the lower octaves. If you don't have the subwoofer on the desk, it sounds like crap.

Man I've been lazy. I really need to head over to one of the stores in Manhattan to audition some stuff...

My new AV123 Encores arrived!!!!

I bought a pair of x-ls bookshelves and an x-cs center. I planned to use them with my home theater, but once I connected the x-ls, I had to have them for my PC. Sadly, the x-cs is just too big for my desk. I ordered another and will use them as the fronts for my HT.

Anyone interested in a 9-month old pair of original x-ls in Piano Rosewood? ;)

Yes, Mr. Wolf!

How do they sound in comparison? After getting my encores, I realized that my old Pioneers were pretty good speakers and thought that if I hadn't purchased the revision, the classic X-LS would have left me a bit empty.

I think the Encores are a big step up over the originals, which still sound excellent, BTW. I was surprised at the improvement. I love the Moho Satin finish, too.

So they sound better than the x-ls?

I personally hate that grill tho.

Yeah, I painted my little speaker stands flat black and it really compliments it quite nicely.

As I believe every owner would say, it all makes sense when they're in person.

You can also make some funny phase effects by waving your hand in front of the tweeter with them on, too.

How do those X-CSs sound in 2 channel mode? I've been thinking about picking up a pair to use like that as well!

Hey wolf, what mount is that holding your 2407wfp, and how do you like it?
I actually have some work to do on my desk, and I'd like to be able to tuck my keyboard and monitor back when I don't need it.

It's a Steelcase LCD arm and is built like a tank. It'll hold up to 35 pounds. I'm getting a 30" LCD soon and will mount it on the arm. I got mine from eBay for about $40.

Thanks! It looks like they still have it in stock at Ebay - I was looking at the Ergotron LX mounts, but they were at that price point, where it costs more money than its worth.

I hate this thread and the Post your LCD setup thread. I'm saving right now and I keep seeing things back and forth and can't make up my mind on whether or not to buy speakers first or my bigger LCD :(

get speakers first, unless you don't listen to music a lot or whatever

Lol I do... but I'm currently using a 20". I love how in the display thread they're like F speakers get the monitor first! And over here it's the other way around haha. My friend is like screw the new speakers! Get a bigger monitor, how do you stand using that small monitor? Then again I'm using these crap 2 ch logitech speakers....
