Why does everyones pics look so 'ghostly'?

Anyways, here's mine. Pardon the weird angle... I literally had to take a screen shot of my TV (mmmmm HD + surround + widescreen 65" NFSU2 goodness!)

the reason it looks like that is because we have sucky graphics cards on high settings or good graphic cards not set on the right setting. somthing like that
 
by ghostly do you mean how the bright colors have an aura around them of some sort? if so, that's one of the graphical options on the PC version.

well here's mine. i'm about 70% in or so but I kept my car stock up until i HAD to rice it.

But luckly I saved my game (backed up the folder) and went back to a stock look when I found out you could just rice the SUV for access into higher levels. You only need to rice one of your vehicals to get further in the game so I created this hideous beast.

So alas, here I sit with my A3 lookin' all stock. It's so pretty. (When are they gonna release those badboys over here in the states?! $25k base for an audi as pretty as that!)

btw: what do u guys think the best car in the game is? My miata is good for everything except drift races.

i don't know about best yet, but i'm pretty sure the pontiac GTO is the fastest in a straight line. the rx-7 and skyline seem nerfed compared to what they once were in nfsu. all the cars in this game seem to be heavy on the understeer, so they all handle similarly, just with some understeering more than others.

from what i've used so far, the the miata, 240sx, and the rx-8 definitely handle better than the GT-R and the subaru sti, the miata being the best handler of them all, but is also the slowest in a straight line.

who knows, maybe someone could do some more extensive testing :p

It all depends on tuning IMO. So far i found rx8 to be a competent handler though a little slow on straight line.
 
the best car in the middle of the game is the gto. it puts out 410 hp with one turbo. to the end of the game its mostly the car you picked with all the upgrades or the evo.

Here is a little tip for ya. Dont buy any cars. stay with the one you start with and build it up. You will in the game have to buy an suv to go further. but other than that stay with the car you picked. Trust me its easier because if you upgrade 2 cars your money runs out.
 
I've tried fwd cars, rwd, and awd. I personally prefer awd because of the better control around corners. For drag the best is probably the gto/350z/mustang, with the gto slightly ahead. I like the Lancer for everything except drag, although its still pretty good due to the great acceleration.
 
guys, i just need to know one simple answer, when do i unlock the skyline and the impreza?
Ive been winnin the URL races in stage 5, Rachel pops up with the SMS and says there is a new car available, but i go there and see nothing. I'm still stuck with the RX-7 as the last car unlocked. I'm at about 50% of the game.
Any ideas when i will get the skyline, been saving a lot of cash for it.
 
you can't really speand cash on cars from what i understand, because you have so many car slots opened up each time you get a new sponser, and each sponser will buy you a new car. all you can do is trade in your old cars when your slots fill up.

i didn't notice the skyline till i beat the game. i stuck with my nissan 350Z from stage 4 to the end myself.
 
damn, well, i guess i might switch over to the 3000GT then.
I've got like 6 URL races left in stage 5, hopefully by finishin it i will get my skyline.
 
hey guys i have a few questions...i am still barely on stage 2 ( blame school :( ) and i decided to just get everything over with by using the 'world map' in my garage and just race all of the hidden races or the races i couldnt seem to find, however i noticed that i never get any money by winning races by using the world map to find them. Do i have to actually go out and explore the city to earn actual money from the races? And also i was just wondering at which stage in the game would i be able to unlock an 05' mustang?

man i just hate the whole idea of 'ricing' , i also hate it that you have to put ugly wings, roof scoops, and all that on your car to advance in the game......just take a look at what happened to my beautiful stang... :(

well, i finally got to beat most of the game, however i still have some more hidden races to do and decided to unrice my stang, making it from a 10 star car to a 6 star beast....lol

And I dont mean b/c you crashed it, I mean b/c its riced out beyond belief. I think your taking it out of its missery :p
