Damn how fun is this game!

My dumbass brother deleted my profile so i had to start again...i lost my beautiful celica :(

Peugeot makes a damn good starter car. :)

I restarted game with that and was having a blast until i traded in for RSX... bleh crap.
Thinking about going back to peugeot.
 
now i have to get a pic of my clean (well, compared to some cars in here, it is stock looking) audi a3. btw... it is 10 star:cool: i'm 100%ing the game now... i got all the uniques (on two cars:( otherwise the audi wouldn't have carbon fiber roof scoops - it doesn't have rims/hood) anyway... i have that and a few other cars to post (rx-7, skyline, etc... just need to get screenshots)

pics... tomorrow maybe.

interesting rx-8 there.

- wide body kits
- carbon fiber body kits

is the miata the best car in the game in terms of overal performance ?

do the hoods, bumpers and other ricer crap increase the performance of the car at all?

wide body kits: 11 outrun races in stage 5 (list on one of the first few pages)
carbon fiber body kits: those... just race for a while, they open up some time during stage 5
miata==best - not sure, i like the GTO and A3 myself... and the skyline... and the rx-7... haven't played with a fully upgraded miata. maybe i should. GTO==speed king, though. i've done a 1.87 second 0-60 in mine, and i forget if i went any faster than that.

ricer crap - yes, it does help :)() it improves downforce->grip->handling/accel. at least body kits and spoilers do, but i'd assume the hoods and roof scoops help too. though i tend to leave those off now.

right now im using a miata it accelerates fast as hell but it spins out fairly fast
my civic was the only one that could get fixed out of a bad turn rather fast
anyway im 52% done with the game, or it seems like
nothing but street x and drags to do now
god i hate the drags

my new car has done 0-60 in 1.60 seconds and a 8.13 second 1/4 mile at ~182mph. (separate runs, though... 0-60 run got 8.21, fast 1/4 mile was 1.78 0-60)

i was wrong about the GTO being the fastest for acceleration, it seems:p

what settings did you use?
 
mostly defaults. i turned all the handling settings all the way up (suspension, downforce, grip) except steering. that i left alone. i forget whether i loosened the rear springs/shocks (2 notches each) on those runs. i think changed that between the runs (and moved the gearbox thing more towards accel 3 notches or something)

it seemed to work alright, whatever i did. i'm not really sure what kind of settings are good for what modes anyways:p
 
I need to do something with the suspension settings for my TT cause that does NOT like sharp turns at all. It either udersteers like crazy or does a 4 wheel drift :rolleyes:

upgrading from the miata to the GTO was the best decision i ever made
this car has everything that i want
speed and great conering ... usually 45 degrees at 60mph

has anybody noticed it must be monsoon season in bayview or something. I ve noticed that in 4 lap races, it always starts raining on the 3rd lap.
 
i guess that's because rain affects handling. they don't want you getting too far ahead;)

the worst part about the miata is it isn't AWD so it is slow off the line. and when you get turned around in a race, flooring it (all you can do with digital controls) spins it like a mofo when you try to turn. and it does that through 2nd gear.

i have screenshots/video clips of it in 6th gear, spinning the wheels:p (hold down brake+accel at the same time) the GTO only does that through 4th. fun car, though. too bad they don't give a "perform V8 swap" option... that'd make it even more fun.

then it gives you a $5 gift certificate to best buy and a free burger at the king

I beat this thing, after 2 tries, and then i get nothing .... 66% done with the game .... just those orange fudpackers on the map, and no wide body kits .... WHERE DO I GET MY BODY KITS !! ?? :confused:

wide body kits come after 11 outrun wins during stage 5 :)

i posted a complete list of what is unlocked from the outrun races earlier in this thread :D

Stage 2 - 4 wins - Hoods
Stage 3 - 3 wins - Engine,Transmission, or Tires
Stage 3 - 6 wins - Rims
Stage 4 - 4 wins - Spoilers
Stage 4 - 6 wins - Vinals
Stage 4 - 9 wins - ECU, Turbo, or Brakes
Stage 5 - 6 wins - Nitrous, Weight Reduction, or Suspension
Stage 5 - 11 wins - Wide Body Kits

note that you can only unlock these while you are completing that particular stage. so if you have passed those stages without unlocking the items, you'd have to start a new profile in order to get them :( :(

also, if you cannot progress past where you are, rice out that ride with all the worst, gaudiest, ugliest (and hightest rated) items you can until you hit a 10 star rating!

oh, i forgot to mention .. i took a screenshot after i finished the 5 lap pain in the ass race and there were no new races ... just shops and the red bastards ....
 
the outruns are pretty ghey, that's why I try to make them crash/spinout right after it starts
