Was it an original V3C? Those things were built like tanks. The newer ones are built out of plastic vs the metal dudes.

Looks nice man. How hard was changing all of that out, also if you don't mind me asking where you got the parts from? I've seen some parts on various sites but I'm wondering if there's a better place to be getting them.

EDIT: Just watched a video, doesn't look too hard at all. I'd like to give this a go however my 8330 is bran new. Will probably just wait till some damage has been done to the housing that way I'll have a reason to replace it. Replacing the ring and trackball looks super easy though, will probably do that first.

Yes it was :( I don't even know how it got in my back pocket, I mean I was playing softball. That really ruined my afternoon haha.

The quality and finish is top notch, however I decided to reuse my keyboard because the spacebar on the new one was a hair bigger and would stick when I pushed on it. Now I'm waiting on my skin that I ordered from BSE to arrive so it doesn't get scratched up.

The ring and trackball is really easy to remove. I use my nails to pop it out.

Can't wait to dump AT&T. The iPhone isn't bad, but Android looks great and the new phones running it are awesome. I hope the HD2 has Android, but I think it's going to be a Windows phone.

I have a Sprint HTC Touch pro 2 and a Sprint HTC Hero.
The Hero is almost enough to make me swear off the touch pro 2. But I love my full keyboard...

I have the Verizon TP2 and LOVE IT! Even with WinMo 6.1! I think that WinMo is like Vista know, the rep is FAR worse than the actual OS. WinMo on the TP2 is rock solid and performs pretty well for a low powered CPU. At any rate WinMo 6.x is going away and any device that we have now from Heros to iPhones will be junk.

About the Hero, saw one in person, not that impressed. Sorry the TP2's screen BLOWS it away. And the TP2 seems a bit faster on the same CPU overall. Nice phone but not a TP2 killer by any stretch.

My BB Tour. Just got it to give it a shot for about 4 months. If I like it I will keep it, if not I am due for upgrade and I will sell it. I must say, I am liking it a lot so far after just a week with it.

Still glad I upgraded from an iPhone 3G back in August. The speed and camera make for a great experience.

Also, if you're curious: the iPhone is great as a Sonos controller. Arguably better than Sonos' own!
