Have you put that oppo up against other sources? They look nice, and the price is right, but I can't find much info on how well they stack up against similar priced offerings.

That oppo is on my list after reading about it in the latest the absolute sound. A guy at work has been hooking me up with all his audio mags :p

Oo nice darkvoice, what tubes you got in there, and what model

RS-1's and a 650's peeking in? nice

That is pretty cool.

Jay we are talking about a pair of Grados here.
Anything that messes with the sound is prolly a good thing. :p :p :p :p

hehe... well, I don't mind the top end Grados, they're just too expensive. Besides, you're a Sennheiser boy right? I won't even go there... :D

Meh... Grado's will always hold a special place for me, even if I don't own a pair. They are really uncomfortable, but I love the sound of them.

A buddy is sending me RS-1's that I will get to demo with the Melos. I am excited.

Do any buddies of yours want to send an AD2k my way for um....'demoing' ? ;)

The wireless circuitry over the grill doesnt seem to really mess with anything. Especially since the main use for these is an Ipod. Still pretty cool looking and overall a very neat project.

One on the right is a Woo Audio stand I think, and IIRC he had someone build the left one for him.

The one on the right is not ant Woo stand i've ever seen. Looks like maybe he made it himself? The one on the left, however, is a Headphile stand... they rock ;)

HD580s and LDII++ (I have Mullard M8161 and CV131, Beijing 6C19, and Ulyanovsk 6C19-B tubes)

Well,

I have a pair of Stax SR-5 electrostats with SRD-6/SB driver that I purchased about 20 years ago that I still listen to for music. I usually wear them simultaneously while listen to my main stereo for music only.

I have a pair of Shure E-4C's that I take with me while using my laptop. Mostly I let my wife and son use them.

I have a set of Westone ES2 custom in ear monitors I carry with me for use with my cell phone when listening to mp3's. I also use them when riding my motorcycle because they fit well under my helmet.

I have a set of Plantronics GameCom/Pro 1's I use for my pc and chatting (about to be replaced)

I just ordered a set of Tritton AX360 to replace the Plantronics for pc gamming, etc.

Sorry gentlemen I don't have pictures atm.

unamped that would be HD595, but really this isn't the place to be asking those sort of questions.

looking at their page I like the look of them.

In certain situations looks can play a part on purchases, but in this case, they should not. For gaming, you can do better with other brands. Look into the Audio-Technica A500/A700/A900 or AD700/AD900, or a Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro.

how does the total bithead sound? i'm really tempted to get one since i ahve a pair of DT770's currently and my laptop's sound is...rather meh....

you'd probably be happier with a PIMETA or mini3 paired with an Alien DAC, or a Meier Move

Nothing against headroom, but I cannot for the life of me figure out why everyone wants bitheads and airheads. Practically every amp by every other manufacturer at that price point is better, as far as general consensus on Headfi. The bithead is an outdated design compared to nearly all other units. It has not been improved upon the way the other amps have been. YOU CAN DO BETTER!

I like my TBH, but like the other users here said you can get better value rather than Headroom's mobile dac/amps. The TBH is great because I can use one device to amp or dac/amp to anything with a usb port. Even though seperate amp and dac will sound better, I think I would find it irritating to carry around two devices. The TBH amps the DT770 fine, however, I can't really compare my setup since I have no experience with other hifi cans/amps.

Wow Drew... I like it a lot.
Hey thanks!

You gotta admit, compared to the price of your speaker setup, you could get a fairly nice HD650 setup for peanuts........... guess it comes down to whether you have a use for headphones. :D
