Im there with the exact settings he has (SS, AA, AF all turned on to max), and im doing 77 average, 47min, and 126 some odd max.

But I am OC'd a decent bit ;)

So this is with with one stock speed 8800GTX, and a E6600 at 3.1Ghz, correct? Nice scores!

So a comparison to show how CPU limited:

3dmark05:

A64 4000 stock+: 12,000
E6600 at 3.1Ghz: 17,615


3dmark06:

A64 4000+ stock: 6,500
E6600 at 3.1Ghz: 10,862

I will take one in a couple of min, the results above are from one card as my MB does not support SLI. The 680i should be next week.

why aren't people comparing apples to apples?

the 7950gx2 guy should downclock his cpu, and see what happens (thatwill be a good comparison)

Heh.. I thought it was a game screenshot.. there must be some nice special effects done with that New Jersey picture! It'd be cool if it was an actual game screenshot, though.. seriously, it could be done in DirectX 10!

OK.... who cares how fast these cards are (and they appear to be really fast) if the IQ looks no better.

Lets see / hear about the improved IQ, no shimmering?, better AF?, etc.

Futuremark will have to release a 3DMark07 version next year! They stated that it's their policy to release a newer version of 3DMark the following year whenever a single GPU beats the 10,000 Mark score within that year. Props to the 8800 for doing that!

I really hated the lack of new stuff in '06 version with the horribly slow CPU tests that were required for getting an official score.

The drivers are broken ass beta drivers so it's hard to tell.

they haven't even released good G80 supporting drivers yet.....but I am jealous hehe

Local, $449. You'd be very lucky to find one today, as word has probably spread around like wildfire and Evga is slamming its iron fist upon Fry's.

If you live in the Los Angeles area its worth a try though.

I guess a good question is whether Angle Independant Aniso is available, and if so, what the performance hit is. This screenshot tells me that angle dependant aniso is the default setting.

i'm going to be honest with you, there have been period of months where myself and many others have not played games and spent all of our PC time benchmarking and tweaking and have enjoyed it just as much as playing a game

Green but no logo on card, also the cards are now Asus with everyone doing their own thing to them.

Unless, you know, you're talking about a benchmark that has more or less NO correlation whatsoever to actual real world performance, and the only reason people still use it is because they want to have the biggest numbers possible in as many "benchmarks" possible, even if that benchmark is a load of bull.

BTW, "pwned" is no longer funny or relevant even in an ironic sense. It's just stupid now, and using it to somehow prove your point is even stupider.

A good video card is a terrible thing to waste....on a junky ass benchmark with no real correlation in the real world of actual games.

Nah, not really, the llamas that do nothing but "play" 3DMark are the ones that get OWNED when they try to actually play a REAL game against another REAL player.

I buy a gaming card to play GAMES....a benchmark is nothing but some silly eye candy, even more so that it has nothing to do with the actual performance of most modern games.

Any person that plays 3DMark all day long is not truly a [H]ard person...maybe they should go over to tomshardware or something, that's more the style of action they are after....
