Overclockers Australia catching up?

Well I have decided to get back into Folding after a brief stint a few years ago. Since I have watercooling I dont have to tear my ears out from the noise of aircooling a computer running at 100% all the time. Anyways I currently have it installed on my Opty165 which I have tuned down to 2.6GHz for added stability in folding. I plan on installing it to my parents computer a 2.6C P4, setting up an old 700MHz Athlon, and possibly my 2.4C P4-M Laptop. I also have a 3200+ which I plan on turning into an HTPC when I go back to school in a month...

So that would be 5.2GHz folding right now with another 8 or so coming soon possibly. Hope that helps some.

About the parents computer...is there I way I can install F@H so that it runs even if no user is currently logged in? Since it is a family computer there are multiple user accounts and often times none of them are logged in and it sits at the login screen. So does anyone know if it is possible to keep F@H running?

sure, thats easy. You need to install it as a service. Just download and run the console client instead of the graphical version. Its got a simple option to install it as a service. All you have to do is reboot then and it will be running as long as Windows is booted properly on the computer. If you need more instructions just post here and we can explain how to do the above.

Glad to have you back in the fold! Your boxen are very welcome and will help us to hold off the Roos.

For your parents' computer, if you install the console (preferred for everyone) version, and set it up as a service (first question, I believe), then it will fold even when nobody is logged on. Hope that helps, and thanks again for folding for the cure.

If you purchase a D620, maybe you'll happen to get whole one swapped in...depends on what the big D can do for me...

I was actually thinking about holding off on the D620 - at least until there is a definitive date for Merom. If you've been keeping up with that thread, I might actually use my mom's T40 until next summer...

...that is, if I'm able to actually get my mom's T40 (pending if she gets her X60)...even then, I might splurge and a T60, or just go for the D620...

EDIT: Wait! Would you put the Merom in there for me (of course, I'd pay you for it)?

Yay for pushing OSU back a little!

I'm so happy that I'm traveling home for a month. Summer classes are done. Means I can fold on my main comp again for a little while. Temporary 5 ghz again. Maybe I'll bring home my AMD also if it'll fit in the car - 2.4ghz. I love going places that have airconditioning!

I have a celeron that produces more than 100PPD.

08.23.06, 4am / 3.7 Weeks crap

Marty and his damn australia porn watching ..killing his production

Looks like I'm finally getting some good proteins. Everyone go out and buy dual woodcrest boxes, that'll hold them off. This is what I'm getting with one box.

Remember everyone, the goal right now is to push into September when all those school borgs go back online. We need about 7 days worth of push and we're gold.

I'm going to pimp on Sunday, specifically asking for high end rigs to help.

Keep it up, we're almost home. :)

Thanks to zim as well, I hope you'll stick around for a while, you and Marty duking it out is not only a huge help, but great fun to watch as well!

I'll be here, but I think he's awol???????

But I agree, get to the heat and they are done, but Silicon....is giving us fits...I'll racket up some more.....and hopefully find Marty

yay ..just borged another 8ghz for the [H] .. prolly won't see anything for another week tho :(

I just got most of my farm back up producing. 6 cores/boxes worth. I'll see about the other 2 soon...9.36ghz back on line.

ill be building a Conroe rig sometime in August. probably something like a E6300 and OCing the poop out of it

Added 4ghz of athlon mp powah, and 3ghz of p4 powah. Good for a whole 393ppd on the proteins they currently have.

Work borgs are staying on all weekend...you know...for updates and stuff ;)

We lost ground the day before yesterday, but gained it back, takeover date back to 27 days - Aug. 25th with all these new boxen maybe we can continue to reverse the trend

got one of my main production units back online tonite .. my trustee super hefty Compaq 700mhz celeron laptop running Xubuntu!

...those roos will never catch us now

whew

I finally have 7 of 8 boxes back up. Thinking of getting one of the inexpensive X2 3800s for $153 at Zipzoomfly for my primary box and selling the old 3500 processor. That'd get me up to 8.

I think the 8th box has a serious problem so it may not be back up at all.

I've been real tempted to get one too for my wife's box. She's got a Athlon 64 3000+ slightly oc'd... I could through one of those in and oc the heck out of it... would probably be a 200 ppd boost for the [h].
