Is this only okay when Google does it?
I saw that story, too, but the data collection issue has me concerned. I wouldn't buy another OP phone until it's resolved.
Not funny... but funny.Perhaps OP stopped forwarding your calls to China first...
So OnePlus announced that they are going to be more transparent in collecting data and will stop collecting so much information, by the end of October. They also don't share data with third parties. Unfortunately, the Chinese government is always first party...
My OP5 has shown amazing battery life, every bit as good as my iPhone 7+. It's been a pleasant surprise. I hope my Pixel 2 XL's battery is at least as good.Off topic a bit, but with the YouTube channels testing battery life on the Note 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, a lot of them include a bunch of phone in their tests, and the OnePlus 5 surprisingly comes out towards the top most the time, for battery champion phone. I was shocked to see that.
I doubt data collection can be fully stopped, but it seems like this is about the best we can do to minimize it:
Turn off all Google feeds
Turn off Join User Experience Program in Advanced
Opt out of Ads Personalization in Google
Nope, just using regular T-Mo cell service. There are a lot of similar complaints on OP's community message boards. They seem to be related specifically to the OP5 and its latest software update.
Agreed. My 5 still goes through periods of ringing normally for incoming calls and sending them straight to voicemail. Pretty maddening. It must be a OP issue, I have the same problem on my OnePlus One and TMobile
Yeah, it has been an ongoing issue. I also have a lot of trouble sending and receiving MMS.Agreed. My 5 still goes through periods of ringing normally for incoming calls and sending them straight to voicemail. Pretty maddening.
I would have no issue with it if they would keep the previous generation available for purchase. This should set the OnePlus forums ablaze if it pans out as the 5T. I can't believe they would do a T version again after all the flak with the 3/3T.

That would be killer just I don't think it's possible at that price pointI'd totally be down with a $499 Oneplus 5T, if it has a 6" screen with in a compact body, with a large 4,000mAh battery, and is waterproof and has wireless charging.
What ROM and kernel are you using?Love my 1+5.
For the price, it's easily the best phone i've ever owned, feature-wise. Modded it with custom kernel / OS, and the thing just screams along all day long.
Cool. I'll check them out. Thanks!
Looks like the 5T will be an Amazon Exclusive
