Thats my biggest Irk and why I cant play more than a round of competitive. People are so locked into whatever is trending with the "pro's" that they are unwilling to change it up and try something new or unexpected. If it fails switch it up again but at least try.

As sad as it is I find more people doing that in quick play than in competitive. Could be my rank is sub minimal as I never get through the placement rounds before I go back to QP lol. Not saying QP is great because its not but I find more "fun" to be had there right now.

While I am not great with some hero's I at least know enough of how they work to have ideas on countering or breaking up their composition.
 
I sat at 3358 for a while, fluctuating in the 3300's. Then I took a huge break (lost my sr to 3000.. didn't know SR decayed in Diamond as well). Continued to play 14 rounds of continuous trolling and dropped to about 2600. I've never placed that low before, so next season will be interesting. The amount of trolls in diamond is correct.

She looks pretty damn sweet. That graviton attack is a huge disruptor. Pull Torb from turret, snipers from posts, people off ledges, healers from safe spots. She's going to be meta for sure.
 
Hmm, I'll have to update the PTR tonight and take a look. From the text above describing her it is like they merged some abilities from others which is how Evolve grew their roster but it ultimately just confused the balance, badly. Hopefully the text does not do it justice.

We get this miscarriage but no Winston buff? They do realize that even in Quickplay people say "Why would you play Winston?"

After a few hours in the PTR (didnt even try to play her, just against) I whole heatedly agree. There are so many neat things they could have done or fixed or worked on instead of this copy cat. I am also getting sick of everyone having a shield of some sort. Its going to ruin the point of having those specific characters or their unique demands on a map or section.
 
I think her vaccum shot is neat. Her Ult really needs something to be viable. maybe some shield like symmetra or maybe make it range based( the closer you are the bigger the boost). I wont be using her outside of fun time until its fixed.

Either you do not understand Winston, or have never played with a good Winston.

He can change a game completely for the better. He is actually pretty strong. Harmony Orb from Zen plus discord targets is brutal. Genji, Soldier, Mccree, Mercy, Lucio, Zen, Tracer can all be handled by a good Winston.
 
I just recently bought this game for my step son (he's 11)and the wife doesn't want him communicating with anyone in game. I was wondering if there's a way to permanently turn or hide chat and voice?
 
I recently bought the game as well and I know that there is a key to hide chat. I rebound mine so I can't remember the default key, but you can. You have to hit the key each time you fire up the game.

For muting I can mute individual players, but haven't figured out if there's a way to mute all.
 
I think you need to physically leave team chat every time you join a game. (There might be a way to automatically do it in the options). But you can definitely leave the chat and not hear anyone.
 
I personally don't feel like Winston is that weak. Just need to know how to properly engage. Oh, and he works well with zarya.
 
I think you can check the blizzard's app settings.

You can change the setting to 'automatically join' to something else in Overwatch, but there is nothing to stop him from turning it back on.

The chat can be hidden and I think it stays hidden. I forgot the shortcut offhand, but you can find it in the 'controls area'.
 
I do not recall where it is but you can disable the voice comm by default, I did from beta day one and have never heard anyone in game. The chat I think I saw a way but dont recall. Mostly ignore it anyway out of habit for the kitty trolls.
 
Can we get a cool character! Like the ninja, cowboy etc I'm hoping we get something cool next didn't really like any of the new hero's so far....the sniper is the only one
 
I wish that I wouldn't have spent $30 on this piece of trash; I didn't like it during beta but when I saw it on sale recently I picked it up thinking it might have been improved. With the post-WoW Blizz name attached to it I should have known that it wouldn't have any sort of depth or interesting game design. I've won most of the games I've played but there is still next to no fun to be had. It's honestly one of the most un-fun multiplayer FPSes I've ever played.

Quick play is easy. Competitive is not. Though there are more trolls this season than not. Each large sale brings more trolls and people who smurf.

same. This season has been utter shit. I placed in gold and have 1 draw, 1 win 5 losses this season. of the 5 losses, one player was throwing for two of them (teleports to cliffs, battle mercy, etc.), two were close (and good games), and the other one we had a crappy comp with no one on voice but me and one other guy.

Seriously, if you don't have a mic, please don't play comp.

In other news Doomfist is released which means the last 4 months of patchs to balance everything just went to shit.

Seriously...stop adding new heroes, we have plenty of choices, we need the ability to pick favorite maps.

I'm probably going to reinstall BF4 or buy BF1.

I had to stop playing months ago, wasnt really in the comp scene but match making and the ridiculous "balance" just annoyed me. I went back to TF2 for that style of game where at least 2 to 6 idiots or AFK players wont really kill the enjoyment.

Currently around 1800-1900 points solo queuing.

I also hate how blizzard has you add people, should just straight up copy steam. It's behind on times.
 
Tripwire#1137 a little low on rank, but I stopped early on S5 to get more experience. Have gotten better though.

I meant the whole UI and the SHIFT+TAB overlay steam has is a million times better than Blizzard's. They are behind on times. Hell, even origin has an in-game overlay to access a bunch of features.

Was down 2-0 in comp and didn't even realize DOOMFIST is available for selection in comp today. Ended up bringing it level to 2-2 and then ended with it with this ult! It won us the game 3-2 and got POG. Doomfist is amazing, gonna play him quite a bit now.

Doomfist is overpowered with his 1-hit combo. Its Roadhog with hook 1.0.

I'm pretty pissed he even is available in Comp--dude should still be in PTR.

I end up playing tanks a lot bc I deranked so far no one wants to support. Orisa seems to melt Doomfist realllllyyy well. I rarely have a hard time with him.

Then again.... I've deranked from 2200 to 1100. So the doom players aren't good. That solo queue cancer life fml


I still just really don't get it though. No matter what rank you are, why do people think running 4 to 5 dps is a good idea? Like wtf!!!!!!! Even when you politely try to suggest stuff in chat its dead silence and crickets most the time.

depends on the map. a couple of matches we all went DPS since no one wanted to do tank or support and we steamrolled the other team. Only works on Attack Payload and Hybrid Payload though.
 
Well comp mode in theory as you mvoe further down the SR range the less strategy (this includes team composition) matters as the individual execution level of the players introduces too much variance.

At the end because SR doesn't really matter, and the lower down you go the less it matters to individuals on a macro level. People would rather play what they want for fun.
 
Man, there are some salty people out there. People were complaining about me in Deathmatch playing as Pharah.
I played 5 games, 3 Free for All and 2 Team Deathmatch, won all 5 matches and random people in all matches were complaining about me using Pharah, WTF????
