This will assuredly be seen as a big "FU" from NVIDIA to all people that have purchased RTX cards before today. If you buy a RTX card today, you will now get Battlefield 5 for free. If you went out on a limb and were an early adopter of one or more of NVIDIA's RTX cards, you get nothing, except maybe an RMA when your RTX 2080 Ti FE card fails.

Game code offer good beginning November 20, 2018 through January 7, 2019 or while supplies last. Offer good for one digital download code (Battlefield V).

Wow they really don't give a fuck what we think anymore. They better make the promotion work for early adopters and they better be quick about it. Any hesitation is a sign of them considering signing off on the FU"

I'm sure that it's EA's fault :troll:

this paired with the recent revisions that hopefully fix the 2080ti problems are the biggest kick in the face to early adopters from team green in a while.

well next to the knee jerk price drop on the gtx 280 when the 4870 hit the shelves.

Similar to news of Fallout 76 going to $40 for black Friday. All the pre-order and release day folks for games and hardware get the shaft when sales numbers don't meet expectations - especially with a rocky product launch.

Well all of the people going through RMA should get a two pack of Space Invaders and Battlefield V. The real Space Invaders of course; not the "test escapes" version.

It has been obvious for a couple of years now that if you aren't hyped up to play a game right away and willing to pay full price you should wait when it comes to anything released in August-October. Most of those new games will go on sale and often at 40-50% off. The FO76 news does hurt me though I'm not surprised. At least I only paid $46.

At least BF5 is a better offer than the Destiny2 one a few months ago.

With AMD bundles, Nvidia didn't have much choice and the vaklue is still ridiculous, beside when ppl pay 1200$ for a card i doubt a 60$ loss would bother them

The lube won't help, I'm no longer aroused by Nvidia... I only buy their shit because it does tend to be the fastest around. However, getting a lil tired of their antics. 970GTX fiasco was them being so honest it required a class action lawsuits to settle... I had two of those damn cards. For price of owning a hooker from Gary, Indiana for (perhaps) a decade (and the the fringe benefits of a 7yr-lifetime itch) you can own a brand new 2080Ti that either bursts into flame, roasts your rig or just straight up allows you to view space invaders, yet not even allow you the consideration of being able to play it.... Lol.

It's sad... I still want to buy one. Apparently, I prefer that my computer gets Space Herpes instead of me. :p

Not to rain on anyone's Nvidia hate beatdown, but isn't that kind of the point of being an early adopter? You pay out the ass just so you can say you own it first. There is absolutely no other benefit to being an early adopter outside of letting everyone know you have one and they don't. Why would you think that a company would give a shit about people that do that other than to exploit their need for the latest? They know you will come back and be first in line no matter what they do. So why the outrage exactly?

Not really. I couldn't care less about a single free game, let alone Battlefield. Now if Nvidia bought Blizzard and committed to releasing Diablo 2 remaster and Diablo 4 in the next 12 months but only make these games available to RTX customers from today forward, then I'd be pissed.

You have to be content with the purchase when you pull the trigger<period>

Sales, bundled offers, etc. etc. misc. misc. can all change at a whim.

If "you" missing out on a ~$40 game is that big a deal, then are "you" truly happy with the purchase to begin with?

It's not the end of the world, but you knowingly paid a premium to have the product in your hands ASAP, and to enjoy said product ASAP.
That means missing out on a lower price, and sometimes bundles or free game offers.

I spent $234 on 500GB 960 Evo m.2 in August of last year, now the 970 Evo is literally half the cost at $117...

That's just the way it is. :)

I kind of agree with this. I mean I bought a Pixel 3 at release only for Google to offer $150 off for Black Friday a month later. And that was only a $800 phone, not a $1200 video card with a $40 game.

Depends on who you bought the card from, Some sellers if you email them will and have given out game codes to people that bought cards from them just before the offer started. I did that with newegg, bought a new card week or 2 before they gave a game with the card. Emailed them and they gave me a code for game.

Not trying to shield Nvidia, who should definitely offer a code to people who've already bought a card. But this smells more like EA desperately trying to get people to play the doa BFV to me.

There was a promotion for the GTX980 that would net buyers their choice of Assassin's Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, or the Crew. The cards went on sale in September and that offer showed up in November.

I actually contacted Nvidia and got mine granfathered. It's still in my NewEgg order history under "NVIDIA Pick 1 of 3 GAMES: Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4 and The Crew (Up to $59.99 Retail Value)"
I can 2nd this, i ordered a gtx980 back in 2014 on oct 24'th then 2 weeks later they did that same deal and i contacted newegg about it and i was given same code voucher. I have it listed in my newegg history as well.

Not a truer word ever said.

Battlefield V is actually a really good game. Multiplayer is a big improvement over BF1.

Is it worth jumping into bf again? After bf2 I lost interest. Also I read its even buggier than bf4. What's your experience?
