The brand new 3.2 patch for WoW is a pretty big deal for the game, just released today. Besides new Instances and raids which will be awesome, they finally made the mounts just perfect, and should have been this way years ago.

The summon time for land mounts is cut in half, was 3 seconds to summon your mount, will now be 1.5 seconds. Also mounts are first learned at Level 20...Level 40 for Epic mount, Level 60 for flying mount, and Level 70 for Epic flying mount.

Also you can learn the first flying mount at Level 60 instead was Level 70, and use all around Outlands. The flight speed has been increased for them to 150% compared to epic land mount speed which is 60%. Training has been reduced to just 600 gold, and can be learned at Thrallmar, for Horde.

Mana Regeneration: All items that provide "X mana per five seconds" have had the amount of mana they regenerate increased by 25%. This is awesome for my Paladin :D

There is a much bigger laundry list of changes out there, but these are the big ones I am really excited about. Also the DK class seems to have been nerfed big time, I thought he was a "Hero" class for a reason to be super powerful, now it seems he is more like a Warrior + Paladin, at best with all the DK changes.

Good on the DK, screw them. They are trying to decrease leveling time I think with all the mount changes. Probably because they know that they are going to bump the lvl cap to 90 in the future.

Did it drop this morning? Does anybody know? Word on the streets was this morning... That would be awesome.

yes patch was this moring.Maintenance has been extened, expected uptime is 3 eastern

I have an 80 DK and they needed to be nerfed, hero class doesnt = over powered class

Has cold weather flying price been reduced? Do you still have to be lvl 77 to get it?

Man this game is changing so fast. Been playing since beta/launch and all through 2 expansions.......

Is the DK nerf for level 80 or is it effecting all levels of DK? Leveling as a DK is just sick I would hate to lose my ability to wtfpwn 10 mobs at once.

Good question, I paid 5,000g for that Epic flyer and did not know at the time I turned Level 70 that I couldn't even use it until Level 77
Sure I can fly around Outlands with it, but once I turned 70 I really never went back there, for what ? I was hanging in Northrend and couldn't fly.

And that was for my DK, now they seem like a major nurf just hit them in 3.2 ? I loved my Blood dps DK, will he be weak now ?

Oh well, just this weekend I got back on my Blood Elf Paladin, haven't played him in over a year, he is Level 70, I just tried out Ret tree for first time, we see how that goes ?

My DK is Level 76 and Blood dps tree and just owns all creatures. I thought this was the first "Hero" class in the game ? So shouldn't they be extra powerful and bad ass ? Anyways in the new 3rd expansion the Emerald Dream coming sooner than anyone expects, the next Hero class will be in there "Demon Hunter"

Wait until BlizzCon for all info to drop :D Or my rumored info could be all wrong and way off.

I thought the paladin was a warrior + a priest? So is the DK now like 2 warriors and a priest?

Yeah it definitely is showing that they are doing everything they can to rush people through the old content so they can hit the level cap quicker. This of course instead of going back and giving people a real reason to level again like new lower level content or tweaked existing content.

Exactly, I personally would have rather seen the new content at lower levels. It would be so cool to go to those old forgotten areas and do all new content, see new things etc. but I just don't see it happening. Blizz seems to like their business model for this game and it will continue like this until they start to see negative results.

Oh and hero class just means you get to skip 55 levels of learning your character. Not getting to be OP for the rest of the game, that's just stupid. IMO.

Well maybe the 3rd expansion is coming sooner than we think ? Like end of this year hopefully ? That will be for Levels 81 - 90. And Blizzard said it would be 12 months between expansions awhile ago, that's what they wanted to get on track for, not every 2 years.

You still have to be 77 to train it from the trainer and it is still 1000g.

However, there is a Bind on Account "Tome of Cold Weather Flying" you can buy and send it to any alt on the same account/server. This will allow that alt to train cold weather at lvl 70, however to purchase the tome you have to be lvl 80.

Basicly, if you have 1 lvl 80 on the account and server, all other alts on that account and server can learn to fly in northrend at 70. Cost is 1000G for the tome.

Huge patch. This is a really big deal.

I agree some of the biggest game changes I have ever seen in one patch. And very good changes too, wel excpet the DK nurfing :)

Oh well time to go back to my Level 70 Ret Paladin hopefully he can still be a kick ass style class now ?

Any word on XP changes ?> Is it faster to level up in Outlands or Northrend now ? Well Outlands seems pretty fast already, they did change the XP needed in that area awhile ago ? But Northrend seems to drag to level up to me, takes tons of quests and million kills to level up there.

i didnt care about any of the nerfs on the DK besides unholy blight, that realy pisses me off.

my biggest wish for a patch is giving old world raids a "heroic mode" making them worthy lvl 80 raids. I would love to do BWL seriously again.

Yes very good idea, and I surprised they have never done that yet. That's my biggest beef with the expansions, they take you further and further away from Azeroth never to played again, except going to the AH and trainers. They need to bring players back to old world WoW

I'd love to see something like that. It would take way too much effort to tune everything just right though. And plus, it'll be obsoleted by the next expac :D

Maybe they could do something like that at the end of WoW's lifecycle, which is nowhere in sight

Not even close lol. WotLK was announced over a solid year before it was launched. TBC didn't even launch its final content patch yet (Sunwell). We haven't even seen the big bad boss Arthas yet.

Has anybody been able to get the true patch notes? Only thing I can find it the PTR ones, which i'm not sure are fully correct.

So I'm thinking of trying WOW out a little again on the side with my current main MMO (WAR)... was wondering a few things though:

1) How is PVP balance overall? Is Wintergrasp basically a mini-"RvR lake" or "frontier" that is in the open world, or does no one really use it outside the set "attack/defend" periods?

2) If not, do battlegrounds pop a lot?

3) Are Hunters considered gimp now like I've been reading (for PVE, or for PVP, each one)?

4) As a pre-WOTLK player, will any of my stuff be useful or am I basically starting from scratch as a 70? Would it be worth buying an item such as the Nesingwary 4000 Rifle ~130dps, to help jumpstart myself for once I ding 80?

5) Are "welfare epics" still a major problem? How hard is it to get decent, good, or uber gear respectively?

6) Is it worth buying Bind on Equip items at 80 or should I just run instances for my stuff? I bought a Don Santos Hunting Rifle for example back at 70 that was an amazing weapon at the time... can I repeat that sort of thing or is it not viable?

7) Do you use your same epic flying mount in Northrend, with a new training? I had a 375 Engineer as my main (Hunter)... would it be worthwhile to still make the epic gyrocopter?

Thanks for drudging through these now-noob questions!

1 = no idea I never PvP in WoW...this is not WAR which was such a let down and should have been an awesome game that ended up a major letdown. WAR's PvP is 100 times cooler than WoW's...to me WoW is a PvE game, or group instance game, or end game raid stuff.

4 = Your 70 gear if it was really Epic bad ass should keep you going deep into Northrend maybe to like Level 74/75 areas. Then the greens become almost as good at 76+

5 = It is not hard to get nice blue gear, but to get purple epic gear it can be a chore, at least below 80, there seems to be very little if any purple gear from 71-79 that I have seen, actually I have never seen an Epic piece yet below 80. Is there any purple gear from 71-79 ? I have no idea never saw it

6 = yes for sure there is some sweet BoE gear in the AH. I bought half my Epic 80 stuff in there. And there are some really really bad ass recipes that BS and JC can make, but you need some killer mats to be able to make them.

7 = Sorry but that is the biggest let down from Blizzard, your Epic flying mount in Northrend is useless ...well that is until Level 77  For some gay reason your flying mount does not work in Northrend until you reach 77, and then have to spend 1k gold to learn another lame idea = winter flying. That pissed me of so bad when I spent 5k on my epic swift rider once I dinged 70, to only learn he could only be used in Outlands and no where else

Thanks for the answers, Zorachus... just to clarify, by "welfare epics" I mean say gear that's 90-95% as good as the best in the game, for level 80's being really easy to get... is that sort of thing in WOW or has it been toned down?

If I build my epic gyrocopter can I use it once I ding 77 and train "winter flying" in Northrend?

i quit 2 months ago... but last i heard they changed all the badges to 1 badge... meaning now scrubs that just hit 80 have to do a bunch of heroics and they can get Ulduar gear... instead of having to ulduar to get the badges to get ulduar level gear...

if this is the case (like i said i quit so i havent been following the latest patch) then getting welfare epics is worst its ever been

If this rumor is true where I can have both Ally and Horde on the same server, I will Kiss blizzard. They can nerf anything all they want....

<3

Cool, I reformatted my pc just 2 days ago, had the patch dl'd and all. However, before reformatting I quit and gave pretty much all my gold and my mats to the guild i was in. I have no desire to reinstall either.

New stuff looks like a stale remake of everything since tbc as well.

I might play again if they ever decide to put in a modern graphics engine. They have made some nice changes, but after 4 years I just can't look at that low res cartoon shit anymore. :p

Its nice to hear about the mounts but it just massively devalues everyone who spent a lot time earning their mounts originally, kinda like when outland opened and all the basic great beat what everyone was grinding months and months for.

Oh well I resubbed to play a rogue, good news for me I guess :)

What do you mean ? I have both Alliance and Horde characters on my only single account on the one server. And I have been playing since November 2004. Nothing new to me playing both Factions.

I have never heard of that before only one faction per account ? Maybe that was in beta in 2003 ?

On a PVP server?

On a regular server you can. sure... but Regular Server = boring.... PVP server only FTW

I cant transfer my Human Mage to Bloodscalp where my hordies are... reason is "you have a character of the other faction on this server"
