LOL.Since when did the relatively small percentage of the population commonly known as "college students" suddenly become "the average consumer"? News to me... 'cause... they truly are a very small percentage of the overall consumer base that I'm aware of and deal with on a regular basis.
Now, if you'd say "the average Cult member..." I'd have agreed.![]()
No, I can't see what you did there or anywhere else.
Just make sure you see what is broken in Vista:

One of the reasons why people buy a Mac now is the fact that a Mac can now run Windows.
guess you live up to your user name lol![]()
For those spitting out the figures and percentages about market share with Apple, if you take a close look at the timeline, you'd note a marked increase that correlates almost spot-on with the rise in market share along with Boot Camp. While Parallels has been providing support for Intel-based Macs running at least OSX 10.4.1 for what, 3 years now (VMWare came along much later to that party), it wasn't until Apple itself came out with Boot Camp that suddenly sparked a massive increase in market share.
Sorry, had to stop myself from laughing at the "massive increase" I just mentioned as it was less than .5% at the time but, I guess that's a lot for 'em considering how low it remains to this day. 9%? I don't believe it for one second. I could go to 100 homes picked at random here in Vegas - EVEN IN THE AFFLUENT AREAS where the so-called upper crust folk live like Summerlin - and I seriously doubt I'd find even 1 Mac in the places I visit.
9% market share my ass... they must be doing these polls standing outside of Apple Stores or something. That's still the only place I see Macs in business environments actually being used aside from photo bureaus that I build high end serious performance machines for. They have a few iMacs tossed here and there, and one of 'em even sprang for a Mac Pro when they came out. But after seeing the performance compared to the hardware I put together (RAMdisks ftw!!!) they ended up selling it at cost 2 months later.
9%... sounds like classic statistics at work to me... damn them... DAMN THEM ALL!!!
1 Windows 12,656 85.88%
2 Macintosh 1,699 11.53%
3 Linux 348 2.36%
4 (not set) 13 0.09%
5 iPhone 9 0.06%
6 Danger Hiptop 4 0.03%
7 FreeBSD 2 0.01%
8 Playstation 3 2 0.01%
9 iPod 2 0.01%
10 Playstation Portable 1 0.01%
I just did an analytics report on one of the sites I run and these are the results for 14,737 visits
Interesting, but... I ain't believing it for a second.Browser IDs offering up OS info just ain't reliable info to me, never has been considering how easy it is to mask the info or alter it outright. Sure, that means nothing to others but that's a given. My own website traffic for the past 6 months shows 91% Windows visitors, 4% Linux, and 3% Macs... guess I'm not so popular with "The Cult of Mac."
Wonder why...![]()
You run a website?? hahahaha
Must be a mac fansite
The stats that I presented are from a site which is not related to computers.
Can't we all just try to get along....???
Wow, you still don't get it. Man, I can't get any simpler of an analogy going here. This isn't about a "culture", this is about using the right tool for a job that pays very well. Again, hobbyist vs. professional. When someone says: "I need post-production edit work in Final Cut Pro, and I'll pay $200 an hour" you use the RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB.
Why do you think that I'm Mac fan?
