bout time they built in wifi, only 4 years behind the times, I'm not sure about the design tho, it's hard to tell but it looks a bit over the top
 
I'm fairly certain that there are some issues with that image. I reckon the side / vents will be a lot more subtle when we see a photo. Lots of problems with the animation in the original ad too.

Yea, I have been waiting forever for them to change the design, with all of the badly design and red ring of death on the old Xbox 360, perhaps I will be finally able to purchase one.
 
The more I look at the pics, the more I think it looks like one of those $20 PC cases trying to look extreme. Needs better pics of this thing...
 
Well as a future 360 customer and if that's real then I'm not that keen on the design IMO.
Think it's just a refresh for Natal (or Wave).

I agree, its ugly, looks like a bad PC case mod. Hopefully its better in person. I wouldn't mind getting one if it is quieter than the current 360.

Natal was renamed Kinect tonight. (official)

Also, I like the redesign.. wife wants her own 360 to play in the bedroom so I'll likely wait until these come out and snag one.
 
new design looks ok, nothing special , ill probably get one seeing as gears 3 is coming out and i want to use it as a 360 exclusives machine only
 
IF this is down at $199 I will probably get one and sell my old 360 to offset the cost. I don't have the wireless add-on for the 360 and I really would like to get one so that would be half the cost of a new 360 right there. If I factor in the fact that it's black to match the rest of my setup, and has a WAY bigger hard drive then my 20 gig drive I think that is a fair price. Unfortunately I doubt this will be $199...maybe $299 but I don't see it going lower than that. At $299 or above I won't be touching this, so I really do hope they bring it in at $199.

Agreed. "Fat" XBox 360s won't sell for shit once the new model comes out, especially if it includes a 250GB hard drive and WiFi for $300. If you look hard enough you can already find 360 Arcade systems for $130-150 used. And the design is ass ugly anyways.

Exactly ty, it looks like those over the top ricer cases and it looks like shit. Granted it may be much better post E3 images but if that's a very good indication I'm going to laugh.
 
It basically looks like a slimmed-down X360--no more, no less (for better or worse). Not going to hate on that myself, but those blurry pictures don't make it look very flattering.

What I'm really curious about is the hard drive. If they've gone the PS3 route on this and have abandoned the funky external drive case...
 
I'm hoping this'll drive arcade prices down to about 99 bucks so I can grab one for the 4-5 games I want to play.
 
Sweet, Grab this guy and the black Wii and my monochrome HT setup will be complete.
 
I could care less how it looks like at this point. It could be pink, with a silk screened caption extreme gamer in leet speak. As long as it's reliable and the current issues have been addressed. I pinky swear promise I won't b*tch anymore
 
If I'm being totally honest here, it looks like it was designed by 12-year-olds.

It's smaller, 250gb hard drive, built in wifi and ships to retailers today for 299.99.
 
I loved the way they revealed it. Sneaky. :D

Looks much better than the advert we saw yesterday. Will consider picking one up.
 
I would love to buy one of these to replace my launch 360 with my main TV, and use my old one for Netflix & DVDs on my other TV. The only problem is MSFT still restricts you gold account to one Xbox at a time, so no sale for me.
 
You can use your gold account on as many xboxes as you want... you just need to stick the profile on a USB stick and take it with you (or recover it on the other xbox).
 
It's still an xbox...why would anyone buy a new $300 device to replace an old device that works just as well?

How would do do things differently? How would Microsoft know that Itchyeyes has 2 360s or that Itchyeyes is not letting his friend use his Gold account for free? Having you gold account on 1 console is how they restrict account duping.

Step 1 : Go find an old USB stick you have laying around.
Step 2 : Copy your Gamer profile to that stick.
Step 3 : Plug the USB stick in which 360 you want to use a gold subscription on.

If you want to be able to use Gold features on 2 360s at the same time, regardless if thats 2 in your house or 1 at your house and 1 in Alaska ... you need 2 gold accounts.
 
Hmm... apparently the PSU isn't internal. Odd, the ports make it look like it would be.

Great-looking design. They also added an optical out port for audio, which some might not care about but for those of us with older receiver systems that's great news. I will seriously consider getting a 360 now. Seems like they are trying to address all the issues with the old 360's...

I thought the same. Give me something along the lines of the PS2 or the Wii — something that doesn't look terribly out of place next to my TV — not this pre-pubescent's wet dream of a case.

I thought it was just amusingly bad until I saw the "Chinese fan/claw slash" intake/exhaust vents on the side. Then it become abhorrent. Its mega-glossy finish and inconsistent rounded edges aren't helping it either.
