Yep. Basically it aligns 2 fibers on their x,y,z axis then produces an arc that fuses them together. This one is used for single SM and MM fibers. They make an 'r' version that can do a 12 fiber ribbon cable as well. As Lightworker said very cool to see in action, hard to believe a machine like this can align 2 pieces of glass that are 9 microns in diameter well enough to pass light w/ a .05 dB loss or less.
